The world is truly lonely, especially when you've been forgotten, A man named David is constantly forgotten due to his ability, He lives a life of loneliness until He meets a man in a forest,
My deep sleep didn't last long as a loud bell entered my ears shooting my eyes open, I raised up off the floor holding the back of my neck, That bell was different from your average one, looks like school has finally ended,
I quickly stand up and grab onto my backpack that was lying next to me, I walk down the flight of stairs until I reach the entrance of the school, I walk past the two water fountains and exit out of the green gates.
I walk through a massive crowd of people until I reach my house, I walk a flight of stairs and enter my room, I throw my backpack onto my bed before I walk into the middle of my room sighing, I walk over to my bed and sit down as I stare blankly at a wall,
I stare at the wall for at least five minutes, until I smack my lips and murmur something to myself
" Talk about a boring life. I have no friends and I have nothing to do today. I guess I'll just head to the park. I always go to "
I sit up from my bed and walk to my door. I twist the doorknob before I exit my house and head left walking down the concrete sidewalk. The park I'm going to only takes around twenty minutes to reach on foot.
I often head to this park, because it's the only thing I really can do. Everything else costs money, which I don't have because I can't keep a job due to my ability. I would still be homeless if the government didn't give out houses to every single student on their 15th birthday.
I walk down the sidewalk until I finally reach the park, it's not really a park instead it's just a forest with a couple of benches next to a raggy dirt path, I look around and see two couples standing around, Looks like they're trying to camp in this park,
Ignoring them I start to walk down the dirt path, the sound of leaves shuffling in the wind and small animals running across the branches of the trees enters my ears, I start whistling to myself as I walk deeper and deeper into the dense forest.
With every ten steps I take, the light from the sun becomes dimmer and dimmer from the trees blocking the sun. Maybe I should stay the night in this forest like those couples are doing. It doesn't sound like a terrible idea, besides it'll be something new for me to try.
I start to walk deeper into the forest until I suddenly come to a halt dragging both of my feet across the dirt path, I don't know why but my body has just become cold, I start to look around until a voice suddenly speaks out to me,
" Looks like your sensing skills aren't bad. Do you have a sensing ability? "
I start to look around slightly panicking as my heart begins to beat faster, until the sound of footsteps enters my ear. I quickly jerk my head to the left and a tall man wearing a black robe comes into my sight.
His robe is dirty with moss and flowers blooming on his shoulders. He has green hair that barely goes past his black eyes. He is pretty skinny, standing around 5'10",
" You see I wasn't going to bother you, but you constantly enter this forest which peaks my interest. Why do you enter this place so much? "
I stare at him confused. He says I entered this place so much. Does that mean he can remember me? I was about to say something until he suddenly spoke.
" Why are you looking at me like that? It looks like you saw a ghost. "
I guess my face has an odd expression. I cough regaining my composure, as I take a deep breath and speak.
" How can you remember me? My ability makes it so that everyone forgets me, so how can you remember me entering this forest? "
The man's face morphs into a bewildered expression before he brings two fingers to his chin, and begins to rub it. He starts thinking to himself until he eventually shrugs his shoulders and speaks.
" No clue, if that is your ability, I guess I shouldn't remember you entering this forest, "
I need to think, why can this man remember who I am and others can't? Is it because I peaked his interest, or is it something else, but maybe it is because this is the first time I came into direct contact with him and he'll just forget me in a day?
But this is a chance to figure out my ability, so I need his help.
" I need to ask you for a favor. "
I say to him. He looks at me with an interested look before he lets go of his chin dropping his hand down to his waist.
" Can you come back to this forest tomorrow? I need to make sure you can remember me, "
I say it to him. He looks at me thinking to himself before a grin appears on his face, and he answers my question.
" That sounds fine to me, but at least tell me your name. "
" David, Yours? "
The man just grins at me letting out a small chuckle, before speaking to me.
" I'm surprised you don't know me. I'm a pretty popular figure in this city, but I don't have a name so I guess you can just call me Null, "
Null? That's an odd title. I stare at him before I realize that the sun is starting to set rapidly. He notices me looking up at the sky, and quickly talks about the sun.
" Looks like the sun is setting you better hurry up and head home. I heard students have an exam coming up. "
Exam? What is he talking about? Maybe I should head to a class or two to figure out about this exam he is talking about. I quickly wave the man goodbye and start walking down the dirt path.
It takes me around 20 minutes but eventually, I reach my house and enter my house. I quickly head to my bed and lay down.
" Looks like my life is finally getting interesting "
I murmured to myself with a huge grin on my face...
