The world is truly lonely, especially when you've been forgotten, A man named David is constantly forgotten due to his ability, He lives a life of loneliness until He meets a man in a forest,
Rebecca and Sally quickly descend through the hurling towards the wooden platform until suddenly the air under Rebecca and Sally compacts. Slowing down their descent. Their feet gently landed on the wooden platform. They were on the sides of David.
Sally's face was covered in wounds. But she was slowly healing her body.
" Well, your utterly useless companions have joined us, David. "
Said Jerio glaring at Rebecca and Sally. Rebecca grins at Jerio before she raises her hand forward thinning the oxygen around their bodies catching them off guard.
David glances at Rebecca worried about her energy level, but Rebecca looks over at David and gives him a confident grin. David nods his head as he slowly starts walking toward Jerio and the bow woman.
" Looks like your aggroant life's ended here, Jerio, and whatever the hell your name is? "
Said David pointing towards the woman with a bored poker face. The woman holding the bow smacks her lips.
" Ugh, my name is Jane. You obnoxious bastard! "
Yelled out Jane stringing out of her bow before Jerio suddenly grabbed onto her arm stopping her from firing. Jane looks over at him confused until he talks.
" He wants to use your emotions against you. That's most likely how he defeated Aerio. Keep your emotions in check and he should be easy to fight with all his injuries. But we need to hurry. The air thinning around us is making our time limited."
Said Jerio slowly walking towards David, as David approached him as well. Their footsteps echoed through the second floor of the tomb as the air crackled with anticipation. Jerio's pace suddenly increased as he lunged towards David throwing a punch.
The punch grazes the side of David's face, narrowly missing. David doesn't waste a beat and quickly throws an uppercut that slams into Jerio's liver. The punch sends a shockwave of energy through Jerio's body. Jerio grits his teeth in agony before he retaliates to the punch with a right hand. The powerful right hand slams into David's jaw sending his body sliding across the platform.
David's body scrapes across the wooden floor, before he springs back up onto his feet by pushing off the ground flipping up into the air. He gently lands on his feet and wipes his bloody mouth.
Both men are clearly drained from fighting earlier battles. Their guards have become weaker. Leaving a plethora of holes in their defenses. David cracks his neck as he inhales. David locks eyes with Jerio still grimacing in agony from the liver punch until Jane suddenly strings back her bow firing an arrow before it splits into 12.
The 12 arrows hurl towards the tired David until Rebecca suddenly raises her hand towards the arrows slowing them down by increasing the air drag around the arrows making them pierce the wooden floor after only flying a few feet.
" Jane. Don't tell me you're that bad of a shot, "
Said Rebecca. Jane's eyes widen as a vein pops out of her forehead. It looks like she's about to explode until suddenly she takes a deep breath to calm down. Rebecca's face contorted, showing an annoyed expression as Jane managed to keep her cool.
As Rebecca tried to make Jane lose her composure, Sally dashed past Rebecca heading towards the battle-worn David. Sally stands next to David holding onto his shoulder slowly healing him.
" Don't worry about me, besides you don't look too well yourself. "
Said David staring at Sally's bloody and bruised face. Sally showed a bloody grin before she shook her head in disagreement.
" You've been fighting alone this entire exam. You deserve healing more than me. "
Sally said. Until she suddenly reaches into her blazer. David stares at her confused until his eyes widen. Sally pulls out two pages. Before handing them to David. Sally got the two pages from Liam's corpse. David slips the two pages into his shirt pocket before a grin appears on his face.
They now have three pages. Having stolen a page from an unconscious body on the first floor of the tomb. David takes a deep breath feeling Sally heal him as Rebecca continues to taunt Jane.
" No wonder you hide behind- "
Before Rebecca could finish her sentence David suddenly yelled, making her turn around.
" Rebecca hurry up and run over here. We're leaving and stalling for time until the exam ends. "
Yelled David. Rebecca didn't ask any questions and sprinted toward David and Sally as Jerio and Jane stared at them confused. David, Sally, and Rebecca all jumped off the bridge as Jerio and Jane watched.
" Shouldn't we go after them?"
Asked Jane looking at Jerio. He just shook his head as he turned around and walked away. Jane quickly followed him with a confused look.
" Those three have too much chemistry, they'll be too difficult to fight right now. My body is weak, and the condition for my ability is gone. We need to regroup. We already have two pages in our possession, so getting a third shouldn't be impossible in 30-plus minutes."
Said Jerio taking a deep breath...
We're quickly descending through the air. We should have reached terminal velocity yet. We're still falling. This tomb isn't hundreds of feet tall, it's thousands. We fall past a plethora of bridges until we can finally see the floor.
I look over at Rebecca and she nods her head as I feel the air under me compact as my descent slows to a halt and I gently land on the stone floor. Before the stones sway up and down. This floor is bouncy. The school must have made the floor bouncy to limit the amount of deaths from students falling.
The floor of the second floor of the tomb is almost pitch black. There are a few lanterns spread out sitting on the floor. That's the only light source. I start looking around before seeing a massive hole in the tomb's wall. Is it a cave? I continue to stare at the cave until I notice a pile of unconscious bodies inside it. I stare at the cave until I see a figure sitting on a rock.
"Oops, looks like he's seen me. "
Said a female voice.
The figure vanished from my vision. I look around but see that the woman has completely disappeared. Rebecca and Sally stare at me confused. I smack my lips in annoyance. I don't know who she was but it's wise not to focus on her. We still need to regroup and regain our energy and strength.
" Hey, what are you looking at David- "
Before Rebecca could finish her sentence. Erica's voice suddenly rang out catching all of us off guard. Her voice echoed through the tomb as she spoke.
" Good news, there are only 30 minutes left in the exam. But only 35 students have collected three pages so far. None of the instructors have been defeated. So we've decided to spice things up a little."
Erica stops talking before taking a deep breath. I start looking around until I notice a woman's figure walking towards us. I-I don't know who she is, but I can tell her power is massive.
" The rules of the exam have changed. Instructors will no longer wait for you to come to them. They'll come to you instead. We don't plan on you defeating the instructors. Just survive for 30 minutes and you'll be fine. Good luck. "
Says Erica as her voice cuts out. I watched the woman approach us before I made out her facial features and the color of her hair. Her pink hair sways in the wind before my eyes widen and I recognize who she is.
" Long time no see, "
Says the woman I met on the rooftop before the exam, I get it now, She was an instructor this entire time, So that is why she knew about the one-hour time limit...
