Shawn supported Kathleen as they made their way through the chaos, his team covering their retreat.
"Your safety is more important. Our children need you and are waiting for you at home."
"But you can't stay here either. These people are dangerous," she argued.
She remembered the tattoo on that man's arm. "They are specially trained combatants from The Dark Ace, Shawn. You have to leave with me."
'Is she actually worried about me?' Shawn paused in his track and a mischievous smile cracked up his tense face. There was no time to reel in the joy he got from seeing the concerned look on her puffy face but he couldn't help but ask.
"Why are you suddenly so worried about my safety? Didn't you want me dead? At least that way, I will be out of your life for good," Shawn chuckled, in spite of the dangerous situation they were in.
Before handing Kathleen over to his men to take her to safety, he wondered what was still keeping Jason and his team.
