Cheers exploded on the audience. I couldn't see a thing, but I could tell just by the loudness of the crowd that wherever I was, the place was huge and for sure without vacant seats.
"We have far more slaves than usual, so I will make things simple..." The stage went silent, and I was able to hear paper flipping. The rules for tonight: No matter what, each costumer can buy up to two slaves." The audience was silent, but it was obvious that they were unhappy.
"Ahem, rule number two: Bets start at 200 gold and each bid need to surpass or be at least more than half of the value from before the bid, for example, if the highest bid is 1000 gold coins, the next bid need to be at least 1500 gold coins. All ins aren't allowed and we just accept coins, we won't trade tonight." Some grunts and sighs in approval, but most of the audience was still unhappy about the two slaves limit.
"Third and last rule: Each slave comes with something special from our private collection. Well, I don't I need to explain any further do I?" The silent audience immediately exploded in cheers again. This time, even louder than before.
"That's the spirit our House wants on our hundredth anniversary! The auction will start in five minutes. Each one of you received an scroll with your bidding code, most of you must have already used it, but for the ones new on the here, please raise your hand and one of our employees will help you. I'll be right back, wait for me..."
The sound of curtains closing, and the murmur started again. "8419, turn to your left and walk forward." I didn't recognized the voice, but I recognized the number. I do as the robotic voice told me. "Halt." The moment I stopped, my vision blurred. "Wait here with the others, when your numbers is announced, go to the stage." The owner of the voice left with heavy footsteps.
(I really hate illusion spells...) My eyes were burning because of the after effects of the spell. I sat on the ground and waited for the pain to die down.
...
My vision was still blurred, but I could see two meters in front of me. The auctioneer was giving a speech about how great tonight was, and stuff like that. Sitting on my right side was the old man from the before.
On my left, some shady looking dude with black hair and white skin. I couldn't see his face clearly, just that he used some leather jacket. "It seems it's your first time experiencing the after effect of the illusion spell. Let me give you a hand." The old man, the old Druid, chanted a spell on my ear.
I closed my eyes and waited for the chant to work. (It feels nice... Almost like my mother touch...) I slowly loosened my consciousness. (Wait!) I slapped my own face and got up. My vision returned to normal, but my mind was cloudy. (This guy is dangerous.)
"Very silly of you." He stared at me and shrugged. "Believe me, it's worse than death. But, up to you." He closed his eyes and ignored me. I looked around. It really had twenty slaves. Some known faces and mostly unknown ones.
The panther boy, the snake girl and the elf lady were here too. Besides from the black haired boy on my left, the other slaves were all elfs or dark elfs. They differed on age and gender, but their hair color, skin and eyes were the same. Typical pure blood elfs.
Nine females, three elfs and six dark elfs, if you count the elf lady, then ten. Six males, five elfs and one dark elf plus the old druid. They all had the same clothes, a simple white shirt and towel around the waist. Only the snake girl, the panther boy, the black haired boy and I were dressed with different clothes.
I was dressed with a butler outfit. The snake girl had a gorgeous black dress that showed her shoulders and ankles. The panther boy was dressed on a black suit. The dark haired boy wore a dark brown jacket and a black shirt underneath, alongside with black trousers.
I sat down again and shortly after the auctioneer finished his speech. "...And now, for the first round of slaves, I call 384,847,531,675. Known numbers by most of you." Three female dark elfs and the male dark elf got up. They slowly strode to the stage.
