Fate?

My eyes couldn't hold tears anymore. I was broken!

As I ran out of his office ignoring his pleads behind me, I saw people gathered out of the door to witness the drama. Even though Chase was my fiancé and valued me in every field... they still hated our pair, mostly because they thought I wasn't worthy enough to stand next to him.

People at work always thirsted for hot gossips and now that it's about us... they'll be beyond satisfied indeed!

As I didn't stop my steps, the crowd parted into two giving me my space. I heard loud whispers... maybe because of my pathetic broken state. They will have a great time to ridicule me now behind my back.

I just want to leave!

I speeded up and soon ran out of the building, I didn't care what was going on around me anymore. I just wanted to go far away from him...

My desperate steps attracted many attentions as I saw people staring at me with weird expressions, some with pity glances and some with shocked faces. I bet I was looking horrible!

I soon approached the main street and the busy roads only seemed to hurt me more. Many things were running inside my head as I didn't care to look around my surroundings anymore.

I felt light headed and weak suddenly, my steps seemed to slow down. My mind couldn't function anything anymore as in a matter of seconds I heard a loud horn behind me but before I could even respond to anything and get any idea of what was happening I felt darkness surrounding me and the next second my heavy body collided with the road then I blacked out.

Everything just happened so fast. He was in tension, he admitted it but causing something like this wasn't his intention.

He was responsible. He thought!

Picking the petite figure up with no hesitation in his broad arms he approached his car as the crowd parted away giving him space, trying to save the unknown life was his intention now.

He laid the woman's figure on the backseat and himself sat on the driver's seat. Making an U turn to his private hospital again he tried to drive fast. He eyed the unconscious woman lying in the backseat again from the front mirror. Her face wasn't on display as her hair covered it, but it wasn't so difficult to assume that the woman was indeed not okay. The way her condition was... she must have ran a lot!

His one hand was on the steering wheel and another one connected his phone on the car bluetooth speaker as he called his friend, he waited for him to pick up and after few rings the call got connected.

"Grace, Meet me in the hospital... quick!"

Ryan's Pov

"Hey! Did you hit her?" I heard my friend whispering as the nurses took the woman inside the ward. My dark eyes settled on him as I thought about his words.

"I don't know." I said honestly as he just sighed at my remark. I just remember her collapsing in front of my car when I approached her.

I don't really remember hitting her or not.

"You're really gonna cause trouble now Ryan? Do you think we can endure the consequences if the word leaks out in the media?" He scolded me in a literal pissed off tone but I only closed my eyes in tiredness. A loud sigh left my mouth feeling so done with everything.

All this things were just frustrating me to no limits!

He sensed my behaviour and soon I felt him rubbing my shoulder in a calming way. "Why didn't you call me to drive you home instead? I know you're stressed Ryan but you couldn't just be so irresponsible!"

I couldn't just be so irresponsible, I know! I just hoped nothing serious happened to the woman because of me. Otherwise I will have to live the rest of my life with an unwanted guilt.

My tired body seemed to disturb my friend's attention.

"How about... you go home and rest? I'll manage this out!" I heard him as I opened my eyes and looked at him sternly. Manage this?

I knew what he meant by that, money...

He will feed her money to keep her mouth shut. I am not an easy personality in public's eyes, my name getting spoiled will not bring any good outcome to our company's name and profits. Being my personal lawyer he was more professional for my image than I am.

I only trusted him with everything.

"I am at fault Grace!" I admitted blankly. He frowned at my statement as if he was not satisfied with my words.

My eyes showed no support to the idea of leaving. I cannot just let myself off as I am very well aware that I have my fault too in this. I was careless while driving!

"We don't want any dirt on you, just do what I say for god sake, dammit!" He scolded as he looked at me in the eyes directly.

I paused for some moment as a part of me was now feeling guilty. My eyes still showed unsurity and I bet he saw that too. His expressions soon turned into an assuring look as he patted my shoulder a bit.

"You don't need to worry about anything, I will provide her everything the best. Just go home Ryan!"

His chest rose up and down with anxiety.

His eyes were glossy and focused on the street, he licked his lips again and again from nervousness while driving in his maximum speed, he was scared.

Scared to lose her!

His eyes then stopped at one particular house as he pulled over on the side of the street almost in a abrupt rush manner showing his impatience to meet his fiancée.

Getting out of the car he jogged towards the house with his guilty and saddened heart.

He knocked the door impatiently and tapped his foot on the wooden floor in utter nervousness.

"Babe!" He called her with his anxious voice ringing the doorbell twice hoping for her to open up and soon it opened making him strengthen immediately.

But it was not her...

A lady in her late 40s wore a confused yet concerned look, he wasn't looking so great with his messy hair and pathetic state. She saw his red wet eyes giving her the clue that he must have cried a lot. But why?

"M-mom..." he called her with his broken voice as soon as his eyes fell on the elder woman. Her eyes softened in a second and she reached for him in concern.

She did a quick hand moment to him asking him what was the matter, as the lady was not gifted with the power of speech.

Chase broke down in guilty tears while eyeing her. Her eyes widened a bit as she patted his back in utter concern, she was dumbstruck. "I messed up mom!" He said while hugging her.

"I messed everything up!"

He sobbed a bit in sorrow as the woman provided her shoulder to him while still patting his back to calm him down. She was indeed confused with everything.

She never saw him crying like this before. She decided to not question him at the current moment while judging his state, she let him cry for a while.

"Is Madi here? Can I please talk to her?" He questioned her as he calmed a bit down, with his teary eyes eyeing her with a hint of hope.

She frowned at his words as she shook her head and again made some hand movements for him. Questioning him about the matter. Wasn't her daughter supposed to be with him at work right now? Madison didn't return home yet and he was here to find her?

She was now more concerned as her frown only deepened. She was worried about her daughter now.

Chase's eyes lost hope immediately as he became shocked after understanding her signs, he gulped in tension as he was obviously expecting her to come here.

Where was she? If not here then where else could she possibly go?

He blamed himself to let her go alone earlier. He cursed himself again and again to cause such a pain to the one he always claimed to be in love with.

He flinched a bit as he felt a light push from her, he saw her questioning him about her daughter now with a curious and worried look. He looked away from her immediately in shame as he himself wasn't so sure what to answer. He messed everything up, he was at deep fault and words seemed to get blocked by his hard lump on the throat.

She was like a parent to him and he was about to marry her daughter. How on the earth he is going to face her after telling her about his previous deeds?

"W-we just had a little argument! Can you please text me up when she comes back?" He let out in a begging tone sounding low. His swollen eyes made her nod to his request in an understanding way.

She didn't question him anymore as she saw how sad he was, he loved Madison with all of his heart and she always trusted him with her daughter.

Hospital

Grace was still in the hospital waiting for the doctor to come out and tell him about the woman. He successfully managed to send Ryan back home after giving him enough assurance about everything.

Ryan was a stubborn man indeed.

Surely he was there to negotiate with the woman for his friend's mistake but in a legally settled way, being a professional lawyer he knew very well how to handle such situations.

His eyebrow arched a bit as he looked at his wrist watch for a second and sighed tiredly, soon the door of the ward opened gaining his attention and a nurse approached him.

"She is fine, no injuries were there in her body. Seems like she passed out from low blood pressure!" Grace's frown released immediately as he heard the nurse's words.

So Ryan really didn't hit her. He soon thanked the nurse who seemed to be blushing now. Grace chuckled looking at the red tint spreading across her cheeks as she bowed to him before walking away shyly.

He was quite a charmer around women because of his handsome personality.

Grace's eyes became serious soon again as he moved towards the ward's door. He eyed the lady lying unconsciously in the bed with IV connected to her wrist.

He by then started judging the unknown lady. 'Why would she jump in front of the running car? What was she even thinking?' His legal tangles tried to figure out.

Grace looked at the woman's face briefly and saw her dried tears on her cheeks, he assumed her to be crying before passing out. Maybe she wasn't in her senses.

He waited for the woman to wake up to ask forgiveness from his friend's behalf, he was relieved to hear that no damage was made by his friend.

Ryan was not at fault!

She was still lying on the bed unconsciously when another guest added inside the room. Grace's eyes fell on the very familiar doctor and he tilted his head in confusion. The doctor was Ryan mother's personal doctor. "Mr.Parker!"

He seemed to be little impatient. He bowed to Grace as he just nodded in return, with his deep frown he questioned the doctor.

"What are you doing here?"

The doctor just sighed looking at him. "We would want to run some tests on her..." He said making him more confused.

The lady obviously had no injuries in her body as the nurse stated earlier then why all of a sudden? Before Grace could open his mouth and question him, the doctor spoke again.

"The patient is AB-" hearing his words Grace's frown released as he eyed the lady almost immediately with his wide opened eyes. Realisation hit him as he understood what the doctor meant by 'tests'.

Ryan's mother has Multiple Myeloma.

She is in severe and urgent need of bone marrow transplant but seemingly no match was yet found. Even after months of searches still no progress was made, Ryan was so stressed lately for this as no donors bone marrow samples matched her.

Having the same blood type as his mother makes the woman a possible donor. She was the rare blood type like Ryan's mother is.

Mainly the hospital owns no rights to run tests on patients which are not needed because it was illegal but since past few months they did broke many rules, they did run secret tests on the same blood group patients but yet again... they still found no match!

Grace gulped eyeing her unconscious figure. She could save her if her sample matches with his mother.
