One day, Katie wished to go downtown. She was bored with having to stay at Bayern without doing anything meaningful. Luckily Kinsey also started living in Bayern and lived in Walther's bungalow, which is now empty because Walther still had a mission out of the country. Because of this, Katie directly expressed her intention to Kinsey.
It just so happens that Kinsey also plans to take Katie to the middle of town to introduce her to someone who will protect Katie when Kinsey couldn't be with her.
After all, Kinsey still needed to interact with Hillary so the 'stalker' wouldn't be suspicious of him. He also needed to find a way to sneak in the castle and set free Katie's biological mother.
Kinsey already told Katie his reasoning as to why he couldn't be by her side for twenty hours, and she didn't show any objections. In truth, she just wanted Kinsey to protect her. But she realized that if she didn't want her identity exposed, Katie would have to compromise.
