Mini Nuke

"Yeah they got all of that, why do you think they're still up and running after all this time?"

Eclipse complained as he hit the car's brakes, causing the car to come to an abrupt stop.

"A B*ack H*wk huh? I like It"

I muttered to myself as I exited the car while looking at the worn-down helicopter on the helipad, the vehicle had seen Its fair use of action.

Evident from the patchwork armor plaiting and peeled-off paint, In some places I could still spot the small caliber bullet dents.

"Hey do me a favor and keep an eye on Hope while I'm off doing pest control will you?"

I asked as I took out my transportation crates and stuffed them Into the helicopter.

"You don't have to ask me that, she's my granddaughter after all"

Eclipse mumbled under his breath as he lit up a cigarette and Inhaled deeply only to start coughing.

"You know It's gonna kill you ahead of your time"

I commented as I got Into the pilot's seat and started performing preflight checks, my brain had been stuffed with all kinds of Information by the higher-ups so something as simple as piloting an obsolete helicopter was considered kindergarten-level for me.

"I could say the same for you"

Eclipse commented back as he heard the engine of the helicopter come to life.

"Sorry to disappoint but cancer doesn't have any effect on me"

I grinned as I put on the pilot's helmet with a headset and closed the cabin's doors.

"Yeah keep talking like that, let's see what you're going to say after 20 years punk"

Eclipse barked as he threw away the cigarette bud and got Into the car because the blades of the helicopter started spinning faster and faster.

I'm older than you though.

I thought as I grabbed the piloting stick and maneuvered the helicopter to slowly ascend into the sky.

Well, It's gonna take a while I might as well smoke some more.

I thought as I popped another cigarette between my lips and lit It up after seeing the AI's estimated arrival time while the holographic navigation lines floated In my view.

By the time I reached my landing point which was out of the terrorist bases radar detection range.

I had finished 3 packs of cigarettes, I expertly maneuvered the helicopter to land on the ground.

My view changed to night vision because, the sun had already set, once the fixed landing gear touched the ground I powered down the helicopter.

The blades continued to slow down until they completely stopped, I checked the fuel, and there was enough In the tank to make It back.

I jumped out from the pilot seat, and yanked out my crates, after that I quickly took off my clothes revealing my nanocomposite suit-covered body.

I quickly opened up the crates and started attaching my newly painted In the same camo pattern armor plates that were covered with a special mixture of paint that had both anti-EMP and anti-sensor properties.

The armor plates connected themselves to my exoskeleton and my neural Interfaces with mechanical sounds.

Although my power armor didn't Increase my agility and strength by much, It still offered a shit load of protection among other things.

As for the need for neural Interfaces that were connected directly to my body's nervous system.

Well without them my power armor wouldn't be able to react to my brain's decision-making speed.

Once I was done putting on my armor plates I grabbed my fully-enclosed helmet with an M42-shaped top, round visors, and modern gas mask-looking facial part with a fresh new white skull with predatory teeth paint job.

After admiring It for a bit I put It on, at first my view was pitch black but the next second It got replaced by a bloodred HUD view while my round visors started glowing bloodred.

As It did my fusion core roared to life with a sound of hissing and cranking while my AI started running power armors self-diagnostics.

Power Armor green.

Life Support green.

Fusion core orange.

Magnetic Repulsion Shield green

While I put on my harness with pouches all over my body and started stuffing It with ammunition.

Once I was done I grabbed my beloved 30 mm assault rifle and slung It onto myself, as I did my AI immediately ran Its diagnostics on my weapons.

Weapons systems green.

It was an overkill but, considering that the hostiles had military vehicles, It would be just right wouldn't It?

Once I was done I faced toward the hostile base direction marked In my crimson view and started running, at full speed I could run 100 kilometers per hour for at least an hour.

So It didn't take long before I reached the base which was brightly lit with Interior lighting and searchlights scanning the bases fenced perimeter.

Which based on my sensors, had a s*itload of anti-personnel and anti-vehicle mines buried beneath the ground.

I rapidly decelerated until my hulking body came to a stop, as I did I knelt down on my armored knee and started scanning the base.

"300 In building Alpha, 200 In building Bravo, 100 In building Charlie..."

I muttered to myself as I looked at the heat signatures Inside the buildings, by the looks of It the amount of hostiles was definitely above a company.

But It wasn't at the level of a brigade thou It came close to It.

It's a bit of a waste to use these bad boys here...

I couldn't help but feel my heart bleed as I raised my rifle while lining It up with the 80 mm fusion grenades projected trajectory In my view.

...but It's definitely worth It.

I finished my thought as I gently pressed my under-barrel grenade launchers trigger, causing an 80 mm shell with a mini fission warhead to eject Itself out.

This thing that I scavenged from my battle brothers pod was basically a mini-nuke, I watched the shell make an arc.

Followed by a mini blinding light that didn't affect me at all because my HUD view immediately darkened before the shell exploded, a mushroom cloud, and a shockwave.

BOOOM!

I quickly took out the spent casing and Inserted another fresh fission shell which I took out from my right arms harness pouch, In total I brought 9.

BOOM!

Another building got flattened, claiming 200 more lives not counting the collateral kills of the stupefied hostiles that were happily smoking a cigarette just moments ago.

Finally, the sirens blared with alarms, as the hostiles quickly scrambled out of their beds and started putting on their gear.

But there was no way In hell I was going to let this opportunity slip by, I continued to shoot one mini nuke after another.

Until I had eliminated 90 percent of my initial targets, seeing that there was no point In waisting my precious ammunition.

I pressed my rifles stock against my armored shoulder and started sniping high-priority targets such as watchtowers with machine gunners teams, snipers teams, and anti-armor teams.

With each pull of my trigger, I saw the hostile bodies explode from Inside out through my camera sight which automatically adjusted Its zoom based on my preferences and distance.

Nothing could stop my 30 mm armor-piercing high explosive rounds, they drilled themselves through concrete, sandbags, and even APCs and IFVs side armor plating.

Once the holographic count hit zero, I stood up while releasing the spent magazine with my right armored pinky finger.

While with my right armored hand, I took out a fresh 30 rounds capacity mag with my left one and before the spent one.

Managed to fall at all, grabbed It with my left armored hand holding a fresh one, Inserted a new one, and released the bolt causing a fresh round to enter the firing chamber.

While I stuffed the spent mag Into my harness pouch, as I did I activated my MRS, the air around me distorted as a repulsive magnetic field enveloped my body.

As my fusion core roared with fury, producing the additional energy needed to sustain the shield before my power armor was so damaged that It was no longer working.

But after using the parts that could be used from my battle brother power armor i managed to fix It.
