It was clear as daylight, the oni wanted to fight and judging from his posture he's looking down on us. This bastard is probably the one who followed us trough the forest.Since I managed to rest last night I have recovered some of my mana but I should still be careful about how I use it, fighting him with magic would be a waste so the only way to fend him off right now is with melee combat. I have the perfect technique for that, it was passed down with every demon king, a technique for defeating any and all opponents, as long as they are male. And as such I shouted as loud as I could the following:

-What's that over there, in the sky?!

As soon as the oni looked, i commenced attack, with enough force to knock down a tree, I swiftly kicked him in his nuts. The oni fell down to the ground, his face suddenly was close to lifeless,

in his eyes there was nothing but pain, despite committing the gravest crime a man can do to another, I was proud of myself as I protected the beautiful girl behind me. As soon as I turned back, the counter girl from the inn came out angry, shouting at us for making such a ruckus. And as soon as she saw the knocked out oni, her face went pale and she screamed:

-Village chief! What did they do to you!? How could they!?

At that moment i knew, I'd fucked up. She turned to me and shouted:

-You...you monster, how could you attack the village chief, he was here only to greet you and wish you a nice stay in our village.

Despite her attitude towards us yesterday, she genuinely seemed angry about the oni being knocked down.

-Wait, it's a misunderstanding, i thought he'd attack me so....

Before I could finish my words, the guards came and took me to the jail, even Ignea was looking at me with cold eyes, and you know it hurts more when a pretty girl does that to you than the crowd that gathered around us, I didn't care about what they were gossiping, a beauty was looking at me with such eyes, I felt like I died a thousand times today.

{Poor, poor demon king, such misfortune has fallen on him today. Now that he's in jail what could be happening on Ignea's side?}

-That bastard, how could he hurt the chief?!

The rude counter girl was crying, after Seiji was arrested, we carried the unconscious oni to one of the inn's rooms. Soon after that he woke up.

-Are you ok,sir? I am terribly sorry for the actions of my companion, he meant no harm.

-I'am fine. There is nothing to apologize about, what he did was because I was following you yesterday. You see, I am not very good at dealing with new people I meet and I thought I would come out at the best moment, but you reached the village before that so I came to the conclusion that it would be better to meet you this morning.

-I see, but that still doesn't excuse his actions.

-Don't worry, I am used to it, since I was a kid I had this weird look in my eyes that scared people so I decided to become village chief to show everyone that I am not a bad person. Well, having the spirit of a demon fox sealed in me didn't really help.

What's this? The ogre version of naruto? Just what kind of references do we have in this novel? Couldn't we have more subtle ones? Anyway, I should get Seiji out of prison since there is no telling what a caged demon king will do.
