Chapter-118 Normal Bus Ride pt-2

Leo immediately countered Erika as he thought that she was speaking 100% pure bullshit!

"The fuck you say to me you little shit!?"

Erik stood in front of the sphere of ice, encasing the whole ruined car and the driver.

Using his [Boosted Elemental Sight], he could see some residual psion on top of the engine.

Strangely enough, this energy signature of this psion belonged to the driver who was currently frozen within Erik's ice.

After looking at the activation sequence the residual psion made; it became apparent to Erik; what had happened just now.

It was the driver who had ignited the car with his magic while also turning the steering wheel towards the incoming bus; containing [First High School] students.

Hence, Erik concluded that this was a suicide attempt aimed towards the [First High representatives].

This could only mean one thing!

The [No-Head Dragon] was trying to eliminate the [First-High School] from the competition; the reason!?

Probably because of [First High School] consecutive wins against the other schools; for the past 3-years.

You may be wondering why?

Why would an international organization like [No Head Dragon] would interfere with a magician competition?

Well, the answer to this question was quite simple.

International betting system!

The upper class of the world was just a bunch of rich people seeking risk and thrill!

The betting system was simply a risky gambling game!

Each year different individuals would bet on one of the Nine Schools; for becoming the winner of the [Nine-School Competition].

Whoever's bet won would take all the money of those who lost!

The [No Head Dragon] obviously chose some other school and was trying to sabotage the First High School participants so that they would win the bet and earn tons of money in return.

"Hm...poor guy, he was probably being manipulated by some kind of magic into committing suicide."

"Knowing [No Head Dragon], they would have already disposed of his family."

"Sigh...this world is truly fucked up."

Now Erik was presented with a choice, whether to kill the frozen man and put him out of his misery or let him live.

He put his right palm on the ice and poured his psion into the sphere, causing it to start melting.

In a span of 5 minutes, the driver was out of the ice.

Erik slowly put the unconscious man on the sidewalk and started healing his internal injuries.

"I hope you will find your way, stranger."

Truthfully, he had all the right reasons to end the driver; he tried to kill them, his family was dead, he didn't have any recollection of anything, living like this was practical hell.

But only one reason not to kill him.

It isn't his place to decide who gets to live and who deserves to die.

And that reason was enough for him.

People may question that; why does Erik kill [No Head Dragon] members or others who come in his way!?

Isn't he being a hypocrite!?

Well, yes and he is well aware of it.

Humans are selfish creatures who act according to their wishes and Erik is the same.

He wishes for 'True peace' thus he does what he deems right and in this case, letting the driver live seemed right to him.

People misunderstand the [Eye of the Moon plan], 'True peace' doesn't mean that there is no conflict!

Humans are chaotic creatures, conflict is embedded into their very souls and nothing can change that.

But what if there exists a "real world" where everyone will get "their version" of 'True Peace'?

Think about it.

"What is Big brother Erik doing?"

Erika was confused as he looked at the distant figure of Erik crouching near the unconscious driver with his hands glowing with a yellow light.

"He is using [Healing-Magic] to heal the injuries sustained by the driver."

Mayumi slowly explained Erik's magic to those filled with curiosity.

"Healing magic? Judging from the impact, some of his ribs must have been broken, I don't think Healing-magic would do anything other than numbing the pain."

Miyuki questioned with a concerned look as she worried about the condition of the unconscious driver.

Heading Miyuki's words, Mayumi simply shook her head; denying Miyuki's claims.

"No, his Healing-Magic is an advanced level of magic with can heal critical injuries in a short amount of time."

"Even if the driver would have lost a limb; Erik's magic if pushed to the limit could have even healed something like that."

Mayumi's claim shocked the others present on the bus.

"Doesn't that mean that he can heal so many people with his magic!?"

Kanon questioned Mayumi who seemed to know a lot about this advanced level magic.

Mayumi once again shook her head; denying Kanon's assumptions as she explained the risk behind this magic.

"No, it doesn't work like that...his magic is a self-activation type of magic, the only reason he is even trying it on the driver is because the latter is not heavily injured."

"It is dangerous for Erik to use such a spell on others."

"Why do you say so!?"

This time it was Azusa who questioned Mayumi; trying to understand the reason behind her assertions.

"Well, his psion is responsible for his regeneration-type magic, when he heals others; there is a high chance of psion poisoning."

Psion poisoning was extremely dangerous, you guys had seen it happen with Toshikazu and he was sent into a deep coma because of it.

"How can you be so sure, Mayumi-sama!?"

Hattori still felt a bit skeptical about the situation and he asked Mayumi about the source of her knowledge.

"It's because I have seen it happen before when the [10-Masters clan conference] was attacked by the terrorists, Erik had tried to help one of the injured people."

"Unfortunately, his psion literally burned the dying man from inside out."

Gasp!

"Fortunately, the man had already passed away thus he didn't have to go through that."

"From then on, this is the first time I have seen him using [Healing-Magic]."

"I see, I still wish that Senior Erik would teach me this magic; unlike his psion, mine is very passive in nature thus I should be able to heal others with Psion poisoning."

Kanon wished to learn this fascinating magic from her senior so that she could be able to help others in case anyone around her was ever injured.

"I don't think you should try to learn that magic."

Kanon turned to look at her senpai in shock as she didn't think that Mari wouldn't support her.

"Don't misunderstand Kanon, I am telling you this because I know that you wouldn't be able to learn that magic; it belongs to a 7-layered sequence Magic-Type."

"Seriously!? You aren't joking, right!? Mari-senpai!?"

Kanon and the others had a dumbfounded expression on their faces; there was a total of 10-layers of sequence Magic-Type.

An elite magician could usually use up to 4-layered magic, military-level talent could use a 5-layered magic, and finally, strategic-level talent could use 6-layered magic.

Anything above 6-layered magic was extremely hard to achieve; without extreme hard work and high talent, one just couldn't reach any higher.

Even though Kanon was a talented magician, she could only use up to 4-layered magic, learning a 7-layered magic wasn't possible for her.

"Can an ambulance! We shouldn't burden Erik with everything!"
