A Scout's Duty
Following Brendan's order, the old councilman immediately dropped a white envelope on the table. The envelope was plain, without anything that would make it stick out. If he was not aware of who sent that letter, then he might have thought it was just a random mail that had just arrived.
Carefully, but with a determined mind, Brendan removed the letter from the envelope and held it in his hands, reading the letter. He soon crumpled it up and threw it to the side.
"What IDIOT went ahead to tell them about us?! They could have ruined everything!" Brendan growled angrily, a vein pulsing on his neck. He didn't think he had ever gotten this angry before. Everything was at stake. If he refused the demands of the demi-humans that had sent this letter, then there was every possibility that they could very well just mail another letter to the king, exposing the presence of the secret faction to the whole dynasty!
