Sect Master's Daughter

Yun Mingyue could probably let Xue Ji do as she pleased. However, certain people are dissatisfied with it.

That night, a young girl came out of her residence accompanied by a maid aunt. The fox fur cloak tightly covered her body, not letting the night wind touch her.

"Young Miss, will it be alright? The night breeze is not good for your health," said the maid called Aunt Ning. Her voice sounded worried.

The young girl nodded slowly. "Aunt Ning, this is not about personal matters, but rather the entire sect. My father is in closed-door meditation. As his daughter, I felt compelled to interfere," she said in a low voice.

Aunt Ning couldn't forbid it any further. After all, her status there was only a servant. Finally, she just sighed and followed where Chang Ying had gone.

They walked down a fairly deserted path. Peach trees grew thickly by the side of the road, their flowers blooming and scattering on the ground. If it was daytime, the view would be great.

However, Chang Ying did not pay more attention to those things. She just kept walking and only stopped when she arrived at a residence whose doors were tightly closed.

Chang Ying knocked on the metal circle on the door. Moments later the closed door opened. A youth who looked about the same age as she immediately looked at her in surprise.

"Miss Chang?" He immediately gave a polite greeting. "Did something bring you here?"

"I want to meet Uncle Ji," said Chang Ying expressing her intention.

The young man understood and immediately let Chang Ying in. "Miss Chang, please wait a moment. I will call Master first."

Chang Ying nodded. She waited for a while before the sound of rapid footsteps could be heard. An old man with a wrinkled face and white hair immediately appeared in her field of vision.

"Chang Ying, why bother coming here?" Elder Ji, Ji Linghe immediately stepped over. "Ah, you can call me there if you need this old man's help," he added.

Chang Ying smiled. "Uncle Ji, don't be so polite. It is appropriate for a junior to come to visit a senior," she said softly.

Ji Linghe laughed. He thought to himself, what made this girl suddenly come to visit him? All this time Chang Ying was just a sickly girl who rarely went out. If it wasn't for the sake of interest, she would just be stuck in the residence.

He immediately invited Chang Ying to sit down and drink tea. After they had small talk, he said, "This is unusual. Does Chang Ying have something that needs my help?"

The smile on Chang Ying's face did not change at all. She looked as relaxed as ever as if she wasn't so serious.

"To be honest, I heard the commotion that happened a few days ago. However, there was no one to tell me clearly. Can Uncle Ji tell what really happened?"

Finally, Ji Linghe understood what Chang Ying's goal was. He took a deep breath as he recalled Xue Ji's appearance which instantly shocked the entire sect. That day Chang Ying was not present, it was appropriate not to know about it.

He sighed again. "It started with Elder Wang hearing Miss Xue's mockery of Ancestor Feng's statue. Elder Wang didn't accept that and they ended up at odds with each other," he explained quietly.

What happened that day was a surprise. All this time they had no idea what Ancestor Feng's master was like, whether that person was still alive, and what her fate had been.

Of course, no one would have thought that Ancestral Feng's master would one day come to their sect and make such a fuss. Don't know if this makes sense or not.

"What about Elder Wang's current situation?" asked Chang Ying then. "I don't understand how that woman first came."

Again Ji Linghe sighed. A few moments later, he began to narrate how Xue Ji's arrival and her meeting with Ye Xianling's group had started. He also told how the Snow Lotus flower fell into Xue Ji's hands.

Originally, Chang Ying still had some good judgment on Xue Ji. However, upon hearing how the Snow Lotus fell into her hands, a feeling of displeasure immediately gathered in her heart.

The Snow Lotus was a rare flower that could cure her ailments. She had already placed a lot of hope on it. Even before entering closed-door meditation, her father took the time to assign Ye Xianling's group to look for the flower.

However, Xue Ji took it?

Unconsciously Chang Ying's hands clenched behind the table. No one knew what she was thinking. Even Ji Linghe didn't notice the change in her mood, the old man just kept on talking.

"Elder Wang is serving his sentence, even Ye Xianling can't dodge. You must know, Yun Mingyue has always been a firm person when it comes to one's faults," Ji Linghe said.

"Isn't Elder Wang acting like that out of displeasure for someone laughing at an ancestral statue? How can that be called a mistake?" Chang Ying protested. "If it was someone else laughing at the ancestral statue, would Elder Wang still be punished?"

"You silly girl ...." Ji Linghe scolded Chang Ying softly. "Of course not. It was only because Miss Xue was… Ancestor Feng's master. We can't offend someone like her either." He said carefully.

"Why are you guys so sure she is indeed Ancestor Feng's master? What if it was just a trick?"

Chang Ying doubted Xue Ji. After all, she heard that Xue Ji still looked so young and didn't have great cultivation. How could such a weak person be their great master?

"This …." Ji Linghe rubbed his chin for a moment. "Chang Ying, after all, Miss Xue can indeed use the Eight Winds Harmony Technique. Who could learn that technique with such a weak body?"

For a moment Chang Ying was speechless. Even so, her displeasure in her heart didn't lessen at all. It just keeps growing.

"Uncle Ji, she is just a weak girl. Even if she is indeed Ancestor Feng's master, what can she do?"

The corners of Ji Linghe's brows instantly lifted. The question made him suddenly remember something. "That's right. The person protecting her was a masked young master. However, the man had already left. One could say that Miss Xue is indeed alone."

A wide smile appeared on Chang Ying's face. It seemed she had a chance to avenge her grievances.
