Chapter 1Chapter 1: Imposter

A huge white creature was flying through the blue skies. With tremendous speed it flew down into the foliage, changing its trajectory at the last possible second, it soared back up in the clouds. It opened its beak and gave a loud shriek of joy. After having its fill, the creature changed its direction and started moving towards a distant city. Within minutes it reached the outskirts of the enormous settlement, surrounded by its impenetrable Davinestone* walls.

A human would be awestruck looking at the magnificent city having a blend of modern and ancient culture, with buildings as tall as 1000 feet but made using stone and mortar. There were various designs carved on these stones. The roads were made up of smooth granite, but instead of having wheeled vehicles, there were hover cars gliding at a height of a few feet.

The beast indifferently transformed to a size of what used to be called an Eagle during the Olden Times* and entered the city. Just as it flew over the walls it felt an invisible force repelling its movement. In a mere millisecond the force was gone as if it was part of its imagination. Shrieking it flew inside the city, past the buildings, over the hover cars, towards the central island.

As if detached from the city the central piece of land was surrounded by a moat filled with water. There were only two bridges that connected it to the outer city. It had an area equal to that of the outer city, but filled with buildings that were grander and even more majestic. One quarter of this area was covered by a dense forest.

'The Human Alliance Military Academy (THAMA)', those were the words inscribed on the huge gates that connected the inner and outer cities. The creature zoomed past the moat and entered the academy.

On the sixteenth floor from the top of one of the grandest buildings in the academy, a eighteen-year-old boy could be seen gazing outside. He had a fair complexion with jet black hair and a handsome face. However, his most striking feature were his eyes, which were gold in colour. Anyone could lose themselves by just staring at them. They were one of the reasons behind his famous moniker, 'Gilded Sight'. As he was lost in his thoughts, he perceived a white object heading his way at an incredible speed. At the last possible second the boy dodged to the left.

THWACK- The white creature who had just entered through the window crashed headfirst on the marble floor.

"SHKK", it made an annoyed sound looking upside down at the boy.

The boy whose eyes, for a second had turned a deeper shade of gold chidded, "You know, you can't catch me off-guard like that Eaglis…and besides do you want all your beautiful feathers to get wet?", he asked, gesturing towards his body which was covered head to toe in sweat.

Eaglis jumped to its paws, gave its soul bound* owner a sidelong look, made another sound and walked away, as if to say, "Next time I'll get you…next time". The boy laughed to himself and made his way towards the bathroom.

Befitting his status as the sixteenth ranked, among the first years of THAMA, he had a huge living space with a personal gym fitted with the latest equipments, a scenario simulation machine*, a bed chamber with the most comfortable bed and a personal bathroom with a Gravielstone* pool. Agreed the top five rankers had a bigger gym area, a stronger scenario simulation machine and a better Gravielatone pool but that rank wasn't worth all the attention he would receive.

'It was a wise choice to underscore my results during the entrance test', the boy mused as he looked at himself in the mirror. Slowly he removed his clothes. The body that was revealed underneath, was a far cry from his blemishless face and hands. It was filled with scars and improperly healed tissues. He could easily heal them with a super high-grade Graviel* potion but he didn't, because the scars were a reminder, a reminder that he didn't belong to this world, a reminder that he was an imposter, a mere street rat amongst the high society of royal lions and tigers. So, for now it was fine, he was fine being the 16th ranked Charles Warammar, competent, trusted and slightly powerful underling of the sixth princess of the Dhamalan Empire, her highness Alexia Dhamalan, The Princess of Flames.

#Top 20 Webnovel Best Sellers 2021, 2022, 2023, and in 2024 #### History is said to be written by the victors. If so, how about Earth's history? Two millennia ago, a young boy named Emery met a tragic fate. In his final moments, he was transmigrated and accepted into the Universe's most prestigious school of magic. “You are among the chosen few from thousands of human worlds. Only one in tens of thousands of acolytes possess this!" Thus began Emery’s journey together with his 4 friends from the furthest corner of Earth. Each year they returned to Earth to grow, seek revenge, save the princess, conquer the world, and become Earth's Greatest Magus. Their names are still etched in our history books to this day. Authors Note: I have always been fascinated by writing fantasy relating to historical facts. In this story, you will find characters inspired by real-world myth and legend. The universe I created hopefully will make the reader's imagination excited and logically plausible. I hope you enjoy it. ### Here are some key aspects you'll encounter: MC: The protagonist follows the classic weak-to-strong arc. World: Picture a blend of Harry Potter and Star Wars. System: While it's primarily a magic-based story, there's a structured system in place that's easy to follow. Additionally, elements of cultivation. Harem: No, there are several female interests. But I enjoy romance first. So even if there will be more than one love interest it will be deep. Note: English is not my first language, but you'll notice that my writing and English skills gradually improve throughout the chapters. Other: The novel delves into deep research on science and history, enriching the storyline with factual and intriguing details. Give it a read—you might be pleasantly surprised by what unfolds.
