Ivan

Nevena looked at me in a way that I’ve never been looked at before. It made me a bit uncomfortable, the way I was standing in front of her exposed like this. But also flattered. I struggled with myself about doing this, but then suddenly I couldn’t fight it anymore. I had to be near her. And a bath sounded so nice.

“Do you mind if I join you?”

Nevena looked bedazzled for a few minutes, but then she slowly nodded. She turned her face around to give me some privacy to get into the cave pool that smelled like lavender and elderberries and mint – three of my favorite scents, right there with the scent of Nevena’s blood.

Once I was in the cave pool, we both were quiet for a while, and I could tell that Nevena was just as nervous as I was.

“What made you decide to come join me?” she asked me after a long stretch of silence.

“I don’t know,” I said. “I just… couldn’t fight it any longer.”
