Test

Hearing his name called, Kael immediately stands up and confidently heads to John Cenny. Under the anticipated gazes of everyone, Kael gently rubs his fingers together, and soon, a fire magically emerged from the tip of his finger. However, before they could comment on how rare it was for them to watch a Fire Elementalist's show, they saw Kael's fire, extinguished in a matter of seconds.

After waiting for another few seconds, the show they expect in enthusiast ended in an unexpected way.

"What the fuck is this?" One of the applicants blurted out in shock.

'Isn't this guy's ability, really shitty?" Everyone thought in unison.

John Cenny, as the experienced examiner didn't jump to the conclusion and asked Kal with a doubtful expression, "Kid, that's all that you've got?"

"Yes," Kael replied in a half-truth because he knows his other powers were also in the same circumstances. So, he didn't find any reason to display his other abilities. It could also serve as his secret weapon in the future.

"And here I thought there'd be a good show." A woman commented in a sneer.

"Balance exists in all things for sure. This lad got a handsome face, and surely his ability wouldn't be that outstanding." Another woman commented along.

"Silence everyone!" John Cenny yelled, and all of a sudden, they felt their body oppressed by an invincible force.

"There's no need to ridicule each other's ability. You don't know what would this guy be in the future, right? Who knows, he might become an Elite Divergent in the future," John Cenny elaborated as he jotted something down on the papers.

Although most of them think John Cenny was talking nonsense, some consider his words were reasonable. Therefore, they remained quiet, and wait for his next instructions.

Placing his pen down, John Cenny lifted his head and stared at the participants, "Let's move on to the next test. It's called the radiation test."

"Radiation". As research progressed, the scientist eventually sniffed the root that causes many people to acquire unique powers. It was the radiation emitted by meteorites. Calling it radiation didn't feel right either. The reason was, meteorite radiations have unique characteristics that can't be detected through a standard detector. The discovery was also done by Divergent that coincidentally had the ability to detect these abnormalities. That discovery leads humankind to finally able to open the door to new knowledge.

Unlike normal radiation that affects everyone within a specific zone. Meteorites radiations didn't have an exact range, and it affects people that are chosen by them. Even Kael was surprised when hearing that revelation. It's almost like the meteorite is conscious and chooses to contaminate people at will. However, further research has shown that there is an absolute rule that only people between the ages of 16 and 25 can be infected.

The first person who stepped forward was a tall girl with beautiful body features, named Maya. Unfortunately, half of her face was stained by burning marks. As a result, her face no longer had a beautiful tone and looked slightly ugly. In addition to that, she keeps giving timid vibes which make her a perfect target for bullies by Kal's perception.

By pressing a red button right next to the tube, the tube's glass automatically lifted itself and revealed a space for people to fit in. Then, Kael watches Maya get into the tube and lay there for a few seconds before the glass tube is closed, enclosing her from outside disturbance.

Afterward, a string of numbers starts to appear on the screen attached to the tube. Initially, the number displayed is zero, and it went up to 8% in a matter of seconds. However, the moment the number hit 10%, the velocity slowed down and eventually stopped at number 15.67%.

"15.67%, huh, not too bad. That's Tier 8 AP for you." John Cenny praised as he helped Maya exit the tube.

"For better reference, please look at the screen." Hearing John Ceni's instruction, Kael immediately shifted his gaze to the screen.

The stronger the radiation your body contains, the more rapid and strong your ability will grow. Fundamentally, this is similar to the potential of every possessed individual. However, as Johny Cenny stated earlier, the most important thing is commitment and hard work. Even people with great potential would eventually lose to the person with bad potential, just because they were incompetent and lazy to explore their own potential.

"Next!." John Cenny yelled, and a girl with short brown hair went forth. Although her body wasn't as gorgeous as Maya's, her facial features were surely top-notch compared to Maya, whose face is damaged. Her chin is slightly lifted arrogantly, while her orange-eyes curved in glamorous. She's Karen, the girl who takes the initiative in making fun of Kael's ability.

As she passed by Maya, they accidentally crashed their shoulders. This leads to both parties staggered in their steps.

"What the heck are you doing? Now my clothes are crumpled! How do you plan to compensate that?" Karen was fuming in anger while patting her dress as if it was burned.

"I-I..." Maya said with a stutter and looked conflicted about what to do next.

This scene doesn't escape from Kael's eyes. As he stared at the anxious Maya, he breathed out a sigh before shouting, "Teacher!, let me go in first!."

John Cenny's attention immediately turned to Kael, "Oh? You want to enter inside first?"

"Yes! Teacher!" Kael said spiritedly.

"Wait! I think there's something wrong here. Why should this handsome-for-nothing guy had to precede me?" Karen said with discontentment while pointing her finger at Kael.

"Why? Because you take like an eternity to just get into that tube thing." Kael shrugged his shoulders.

"Y-You!!" Karen's face twisted between anger and embarrassment. She ultimately ends up looking like an erupted volcano.

"Come on. Hurry up many people are waiting behind you," Kael said nonchalantly.

Gnawing her teeth in anger, Karen glared at Kael, before turning to Maya, "You're lucky today because an idiot comes to knock at my door."

Letting out a snort, Karen went to the tube and entered it directly. In seconds, Karen's radiation began to be computed by the tube, which brought up numbers on the screen. As arrogant as she was, she had the backbone to support her evil trait because the screen shows her radiation scale was 40%. In other words, she was Tier 6 in terms of AP.

"Outstanding!" John Cenny praised upon looking at the displayed number. It was a rare occasion even for John, who has tested a lot of people before. That's why he couldn't help but exclaim upon learning Karen's AP.

Leaving the tube, Karen stared at Kael in a challenging manner, "Now, let me see your AP, dumbass."
