The Diamond In The Rough✔

||Book 1 of the Diamond Series|| The world had fallen into chaos a long time ago. Creatures came and enslaved the human race: Vampires, Lycans/Werewolves and Demons. They took and slaughtered thousands of innocent people. Men, Women and Children. After suffering for ten years, another set of beings came. They had enormous wings and a shining silver rings floating above their heads. Rings that could be used as a weapon if necessary. These creatures were called 'Angels'. They were kind and honestly the opposite of every supernatural creature that existed in that era. They built their kingdom protecting as many humans as they could but the dark creatures had other things planed. There was a war that broke out. Every man for themselves or more specifically, every creature for themselves. The war went on for almost 500 years. Then there was a woman. She wasn't an Angel or Vampire or Lycan or Demon. Turns out she was a hybrid of all four. More powerful than anything. No one knows for sure how this hybrid was made and at some point, no one cared. Her name was Elaka. She was seen as a priestess. Elaka was the savior of all humans. She created a boarder and the world was divided in two: The Land of Light; was so peaceful that it had to be shielded from the world. Elaka had put a protective hidden wall around the kingdom so no one would come in unless brought in by the citizens. There were humans that lived there and their lives were a paradise. And total peace. And there was the Dark land. Where every other creature lived. The three major kingdoms tolerated each other for as long as they could. Years passed without war. Until Elaka suddenly vanished. Without her, the world would become chaotic again. The crystal was lost in the forest. So many have searched for it but never succeeded. Even if they ever found it, the legend says it was set in stone. It was glued to a tree and only 'The Diamond in The Rough' could pull it out. That person was never found.

Third Person's POV:

It was like nothing anyone had seen before.

Lyra had finally used her demonic sixth sense to fight the poison injected into her system…which was meant to kill her.

Everything went according to Hellen's plan after so long she had found a way to force Lyra to use her sixth sense; her demonic sixth sense for that matter.

Gone were her blue eyes; in their place were two black orbs that were like an endless void.

Her already brown hair became darker than usual and she let out an animalistic roar that shook the entire kingdom.

"this is incredible; will the chains be able to hold her?" Hellen turned to the witch who was lost in awe.

Lyra began trashing about trying to break her chains and it made the entire room shake.

She was pulling with everything she had but it still wasn't enough.

Everyone thought it was over when she suddenly stopped but couldn't be more wrong.

The sounds of her inhaling and exhaling filled the room.

Everyone watched in anticipation, wondering what she would do next.

Her eyes opened and she let out a roar louder than before, Lyra's body began to tremble as wings emerged from behind her.

The wings were big and black; they had the same structure as that of a bat.

"they're beautiful; I want them" Hellen said maliciously, looking Lyra dead in the eyes.

This was what she wanted all along, this is what she has been trying to achieve.

Her wings began to move as she readied herself to take off and try to fly out of the small cell.

"we have to do something or she'll break out and we'll get crushed" the witched pleaded.

Lyra's wings were creating winds that were so strong that it was becoming difficult for them to hold their ground.

"I think it's time she takes a nap for a while because when she wakes up, she'll need this energy" there was a wicked grin playing on Hellen's lips.

The chains were going to break at any moment so the guards had to be quick with the tranquilizers.

"she's moving too fast, I can't get a clear shot" one of them complained, using his arm to shield his eyes.

"I don't care where she gets shot! Just make her go to sleep" Hellen snapped back and the guards acted on command.

The first dart was shot but it was like a bee sting on a bull; it riled her up even more without affecting her.

They shot 7 more at her and the room was filled with howls of pain and her movement stopped and she fell to the ground.

….........…

When Lyra woke up, she was still using her demonic sixth sense.

Memories of everything that had happened a few hours ago hit her like a slap on the face.

She wanted to thrash about but her body was far too weak for all that.

It was only after calming down did she notice that she wasn't alone at all.

Everyone was there patiently waiting for her to wake up and continue or rather finish the rest of her never ending nightmare.

"you have no idea how beautiful your wings…I mean my wings to be look. They're everything I could ever ask for" Hellen moved closer and enjoyed the feel of the wings beneath her fingers.

They twitched at the sudden contact.

"they were made for me and only me" the wicked smile on her face grew.

"I can't believe her infant wings nearly brought down the palace!" the witch remarked in shock as she prepared her things to brew some potions.

"imagine what her mature wings can do? But alas I won't let you get that strong. Is everything ready?"

The witch nodded and Hellen snapped her fingers indicating the guards begin…extraction.

The guards went to her, swords in hand and began slashing through her wings; ripping them to shreds and placing the pieces in a bowl.

Pain coursed through her body at an alarming rate and screamed out like a beast in torment but they didn't stop.

In fact, they moved faster and kept on without showing any mercy, breaking a few bones in the process.

When they were done, the guards presented it to the witch and she dipped them into random liquids at a time and chanted to the sky.

The shred of wings turned into magical glowing orbs; each one she made had a different color.

They mesmerized everyone, including the guards who watched in awe as the witch continued what she was doing.

"do something about her wings; I can't have them looking like that on me" Hellen scowled in irritation while looking at the scruffy wings before her.

The witch stopped what she was doing to hand a guard a liquid in a small bottle and he spilled it on her wings.

The substance stung at first but all the holes that were torn out were refilled magically.

It looked like there was nothing there before, like they had never used their sharp swords on her before.

It only healed her wings as the rest of her body was still in a condition too disturbing for description.

"are you done with her? I want to get this over with as soon as possible" Hellen turned her attention.

After some minutes, two guards adjusted the chains on either side so Lyra was even lower on the floor and her chest could touch her thigh.

Everyone knew what was coming next and Lyra began to tremble in fear.

"there's something you don't see every day" Hellen grinned and forced the poor girl to meet her cruel gaze.

"you might be out for blood and in rage right now but I can still see the fear hidden behind those black lifeless eyes. Even with all this power you'll still be a weak, useless, puny human…with no one to save you"

Lyra watched the lady move away and the whole room fell into silence.

One of the guards tried tugging at her wings to see if he would be able to rip them out rather than cut them off.

He yanked it over and over and didn't stop no matter how hard Lyra screamed and cried for them to stop.

With a hopeless sigh, he signaled for swords to be brought over and they were.

The blades were broad and the ends were incredible sharp and looked like they could cut through anything.

As soon as Lyra saw the blades, her face was instantly soaked with sweat and her heart began to pound faster every pounding second.

Her skin was already pale before due to mass blood loss but the sight of the swords only made it worst.

The silence was nerve wrecking.

"I'm not sure if you'll survive this but even if you do, I'll still have you killed. Do it!" she commanded the guards.

Simultaneously, they rose their swords in the air and looked at their target before delivering a blow that cut her wings clean off.

If Lyra had screamed loudly before then it was nothing compared to this moment.

She was so loud that the lady, witch and guards had to cover their ears to prevent going deaf.

Two big wounds were in her back from where her wings once were.

Even as they were severed, the wings still twitched every now and then.

Them cutting off her wings took everything she had, there was nothing left for her.

After submitting to weeks of torture, Lyra's body eventually gave out.

Her body went limp and she let herself submit into the darkness.

I'm so sorry for what I had to do... don't hate me
