The Diamond In The Rough✔

||Book 1 of the Diamond Series|| The world had fallen into chaos a long time ago. Creatures came and enslaved the human race: Vampires, Lycans/Werewolves and Demons. They took and slaughtered thousands of innocent people. Men, Women and Children. After suffering for ten years, another set of beings came. They had enormous wings and a shining silver rings floating above their heads. Rings that could be used as a weapon if necessary. These creatures were called 'Angels'. They were kind and honestly the opposite of every supernatural creature that existed in that era. They built their kingdom protecting as many humans as they could but the dark creatures had other things planed. There was a war that broke out. Every man for themselves or more specifically, every creature for themselves. The war went on for almost 500 years. Then there was a woman. She wasn't an Angel or Vampire or Lycan or Demon. Turns out she was a hybrid of all four. More powerful than anything. No one knows for sure how this hybrid was made and at some point, no one cared. Her name was Elaka. She was seen as a priestess. Elaka was the savior of all humans. She created a boarder and the world was divided in two: The Land of Light; was so peaceful that it had to be shielded from the world. Elaka had put a protective hidden wall around the kingdom so no one would come in unless brought in by the citizens. There were humans that lived there and their lives were a paradise. And total peace. And there was the Dark land. Where every other creature lived. The three major kingdoms tolerated each other for as long as they could. Years passed without war. Until Elaka suddenly vanished. Without her, the world would become chaotic again. The crystal was lost in the forest. So many have searched for it but never succeeded. Even if they ever found it, the legend says it was set in stone. It was glued to a tree and only 'The Diamond in The Rough' could pull it out. That person was never found.

CHAPTER 67:

King Cyrus' POV:

I sat outside gazing at the stars.

After all, I had no one to talk to, no one who understands me.

How was I going to find her?

She could be anywhere!

Beating an explanation out of Sam wasn't going to take us anywhere.

The feeling of hopelessness washed over me like I was back in the castle…when she first left me.

I was so close to tears again.

"excuse me-" someone called my attention and I turned to face them.

It was a woman but I had never seen her before; she had dark hair and a lot of tattoo's everywhere.

She was also dressed traditionally.

"who are you? What do you want? I'm not in the mood for anything irrelevant!" all I wanted was to be alone.

"believe it or not I'm here to help you. My name is Darya and I'm the one that teaches Lyra magic" she said.

I had heard about her living in caves not far from here and she's great with magic but never really met her before.

"oh! I'm-"

"I know who you are. King Cyrus, ruler of Redlake; you've also fallen for Lyra and would do anything to save her" there was a little smirk playing on her face.

"don't push your luck witch" a small growl escaped me.

"is that how you're going to talk to the person who's going to help you retrieve your lost love? That's pitiful" she turned around to leave.

All she wants is for me to beg but it's not like I have much choice.

"wait…I'm sorry; what's your plan?" the words came out with such difficulty.

"we're putting a small squad to go rescue her from Bloodlake, I know you're interested so meet us at the throne room" then she turned away but not before reassuring me we would get her back.

Lyra's POV:

"you're being foolish! All you have to do is let me take control! All this will end!" the demonic version of mother tried convincing me.

"NO! what do you think will happen if you listen to her? Hellen will kill you!"

"you're dead either ways but the difference is I'm not too blind to see that! If you take control we won't even have a small chance of escaping…but if I do-"

"CAN YOU BOTH SHUT IT?!" I yelled and both of them turned to look at me.

"this isn't exactly easy for me either! I'm the one that's getting tortured!"

"and you're not being wise enough to open your eyes to the possibilities. I don't think this place can hold me; especially now that Hellen has made me more than angry!"

"if you weren't paying attention, she's studied about our kind for years so she will definitely have something up her sleeve, we need to be smart about this"

The demon placed her arm over my shoulder and whispered into my ears.

"you're a smart girl Lyra, do what's right"

A blood curdling scream left my throat as the hot whip made contact with my skin once more.

I don't know how long I've been here but it feels like months if not years.

Every day, Hellen looks for creative ways to make me scream and only leaves me when I pass out.

It was worse than anyone's nightmare and it didn't feel like it was ending any time soon.

She doesn't take breaks…she doesn't give me time to heal at all…from dusk till dawn.

I was sick of it and needed to find a way to break free!

But how?

"I see you're quite stubborn; let's see how you'll handle this" the witch moved closer with a bowl in her hands.

Using magic, she made the liquid substance float in the air and stick to my body.

Then she held her hands into a fist and I could feel the liquid enter my body and flow through my veins.

Nothing happened at first but it began to sting at first and it seemed like something I could endure...until it began to burn hotter and hotter.

My body began to feel like it was burning with a flame that couldn't be quenched.

Every second made it even hotter and soon enough my screams filled the room as I begged for her to stop.

My body began to thrash about, beads of sweat on my forehead, tears in my eyes but I still wasn't going to use my sixth sense.

"wow! That's an improvement…I know what to do now…I know what will force you to use your sixth sense" she snapped her fingers and the liquid left my body.

No sooner than it did, the pain reduced drastically.

It was too much all I could do was stay still and try to tune out the pain from everywhere else in my body.

I'm not sure how much of this I can take anymore but I did know one thing.

This has to end sooner rather than later!

..........…

No one entered my cell till the very next day.

Not that I bothered; it was better for me to be alone than with company I didn't want.

I had been alone with my thoughts.

My connection to mother was weak as well as everything about me.

Even moving seemed like a big challenge.

My crystal is down as well since the witch dips it inside some concoction to weaken it every day before she starts her torture.

I would even be surprised if it would still function after this…that's if I survive.

The sound of the door opening woke me up and I looked to see who was coming into the cell.

A part of me hoped it was someone to rescue me but most of me knew that chances of that happening would be slim.

"let's get this over with" Hellen walked in with her guards and the witch, who had another bowl in her hand.

Memories of yesterday made me thrash about to the best of my ability.

Just like she did yesterday; the witch made the liquid enter my body except this time I didn't feel burning.

If I'm being honest; I don't know what I felt.

It was too much for me to handle all at once.

The pressure I was feeling inside, toxins ran through my veins and I began to hallucinate.

Tears began to sting and everything began to blur.

All my senses were jumbled and it was unbearable.

I could feel my body become weaker and weaker the longer the poison stayed in my body.

"if this should stay in your body for too long; you'll die" I rose my head to see the demon addressing me.

Apparently I was the only one who could see her.

Hellen looked at me with round eyes; anticipating my every move.

"don't listen to her; you know it will end badly just give me some time to think of something…anything!"

"It will end badly for everyone if you don't let me take over! Do you really want to die and leave everyone without hope? If Hellen gets your powers, she'll wipe out humanity; no one will be safe…not even the mystic!" I was beginning to listen to the demon.

The pain I was feeling began to double and triple making me scream till I felt like I had nothing left in me.

My body was at its weakest; looking for some sort of relief to blackout the pain and it seemed like I had only one option left.

"Lyra please don't do this" the angel tried pleading with me but I couldn't take it any longer.

Just before my heart stopped, I closed my eyes and let myself surrender into her.

When I opened my eyes; all I could see was black…

This isn't going to end well…
