Her eyes stared up at the man holding her with no words to express the weird way that she was feeling. She was dazed by his looks, the way things had been in the past. She had never had the time to look at his appearance. But now she had to admit that his looks were impressive.
They gazed into each other's eyes. Nathan was breathless, gazing at the priestess at such close range was a gift that he would never take for granted.
"Let me go," she said.
He helped her to stand up properly and let her go. His hand felt empty without her. He didn't show his disappointment on his face.
Esmeralda went ahead to change out of her dress and returned to her balloon dress. She walked straight past them without looking back. She kept on a straight face the whole time while in fact, she was very nervous.
