Where am I?

"Master, Wake up! We are arriving soon."

Adi heard a voice and woke up startled, as he looked around searching for the speaker. Last thing he remembered was an intense pain in his head by an accidental shot from a burglar.

Adi was a student in the last semester of his Post Graduation on Earth. One evening, on the way back to home, he was caught unaware in a burglary and was mistaken as a cop. Then, there was no then. But somehow, he woke up and found himself in this condition.

Back to present, Adi looked around and found a middle-aged man whose body was oozing with muscles indicating his strength. He had an armor while carrying a sword and shield. He was wearing an attire similar to medieval times on Earth, before the gunpowder and steam engine era.

He then gave his surrounding a quick glimpse and found that it somewhat resembled a carriage. There was a thin cloth spread on hay, which could be seen from the edges. Also the carriage was made of wood, which gave no protection except sheltering from sun, rain or snow.

The middle-aged, man who was probably a high ranking knight, spoke again, "Master Adi, we will be arriving at Rai in probably an hour. You have to get ready. Are you okay master?"

Adi listened absentmindedly and blankly nodded his head. It was hard to digest all these happenings. After speaking his mind, the high ranking knight closed the carriage door and went to his duty while Adi closed his eyes. He was trying hard to understand what was happening.

He murmured, "Wasn't I shot at head? Wasn't I dead? How can I wake up again? And how the hell am I here? Can somebody explain what is all this nonsense?"

Like just on cue, a robotic voice echoed in his head,

"Ding"

"Host selected"

"Binding Commence....

... Binding Complete"

"Host has been selected as the sole possessor of the Ethical System to teach morals and ethics to this world and upgrade people's standard of living."

"Host has been reincarnated in the body of Adi Bose, the Eighth Prince of Kalinga Empire and the son of King Rohit Bose and Fifth Queen Laxmi Garg. He has been given the backward area of Rai State and banished from the Kalinga Empire with his mother. He died due to poisoning and Host has taken over his body from the help of System."

Adi took few deep breaths to slow his quickened heartbeat after listening the backstory from the voice. With some hesitation, he asked,

"Who are you?"

"Host's question has been answered already." answered the voice again.

After remembering for a moment he asked, "Why me? Was there any criteria for selection?"

"Host has been selected after detail analysis on your Morals, Ethics and IQ."

"Was I the best?"

Adi asked feeling a little excited and proud.

"No Host, you were the best candidate available because of your fortunate, or unfortunate, death at that moment."

Taken aback, Adi stopped. He gathered his thoughts for a moment and then continued, "What do I have to do? And what can you do?"

"Host has to teach morals and ethics to this lawless world and also upgrade the people's living standards. Host has to complete various missions and side missions to get rewards or else you will face Divine punishment. The System is almighty and knows everything. It will aid you in completing your missions and also give you rewards. You can also buy tools and knowledge from the System."

A window popped up in his mind which showed:

> Name- Adi Bose

> Age - 16

> Status - Weakened(Poisoned)

> Level - 1

> Current Situation- Banished prince of Kalinga, To-Be King of Rai, severely poisoned and can die any moment.

> Mission 1- Investigate your barren land and make it fit for farming.

> Deadline - 1 year after reaching Rai

Adi read all of it then said, "System, I don't have any knowledge about farming at all, how will I complete the mission?"

System processed it and replied, "Host is right. So let me give you a System Starter Package."

"Ding"

"Congratulations Host for receiving the System Starter Package"

A gift box wrapped with decorative papers and ribbons popped up in his mind with a golden halo around it. Adi willed for it to open and it lit up with a message.

"System Starter Package - It includes all the knowledge for farming and soil conservation. It will help you to have a bumper harvest every season. It will help you to increase the fertility of soil so that it never becomes barren. It consists of all the types of farming and its tools."

Adi read it all and heaved a sigh of relief. With this package he can now complete his mission before deadline. Hopefully.

After interacting with the System, Adi redirected his thoughts to his current situation. He tried to recall his memories said and matched it with what the System stated. He felt a sharp pain for a moment which receded to constant pain as his body's memories came back to him. He remembered who he was, his mother Laxmi, step-siblings, step-mothers and lastly his father, the current King of Kalinga. He also remembered the middle-aged Knight who came to wake him up, Pratap. He was a high ranking knight, just below the General. Pratap was tasked to protect his Mother after she married and then he was transferred to be the Head Guard of Adi. He had been given command of a thousand knights to accompany Adi in the banished land. He was not married and wholly dedicated to protect them.

"Master, we will reach in few minutes", came the voice from outside. Adi tried to sit but he couldn't. Instead he started breathing heavily. He then remembered that he was poisoned. Grumbling under his breath he asked in his mind, "System, you said i was poisoned and now i can't even sit. How will i complete the missions if i am like this?"

System replied, "Host is right but system cannot help you unless you buy Health potion from store"

"It was not my fault for being poisoned. Its your fault for giving me such a body and now you want to sell your potions? I don't even have points to buy. Never mind, I have died once and have no problem in dying again in face of such a System", Adi replied like he was having none of it but his palms had become sweaty. He had died once and was given a second chance. He was in no mood to deny it but he still put up a strong front in face of system as he did not want it to be dominant one in future.

System did not reply for a minute. Adi thought that he failed to get a bargain from it and was about to ask further about buying when it replied, "Host has a valid point. It was indeed the system's responsibility to get a healthy body. So, the system will treat all problems in Host's body and also increase his strength."

"Ding"

"Complimentary package awarded. Host has now been given a healthy body which will take no harm from any poison and will never have any disease."

Adi felt a surge of warmth inside his body as the weakness receded. His face which was previously pale and sickly now had a tinge of redness in it. His thin body was now filled with a little bit of muscles but much greater strength. He felt like he could even shatter a big stone with a punch.

After getting back his strength, he tried to sit. Just as he sat, the carriage stopped. He took a deep breath and stepped outside of carriage to take a look at his land.
