"So, what's your business visiting my lovely manor?" Loki inquired, sipping her wine with a mischievous smile

"I was borrowing your familia's practice ground," I replied.

"And how did Bete end up being half-dead?" Loki arched an eyebrow and asked

"You should already know the reason. It seems to be his nature." I responded

"Haha, Bete can be harsh sometimes, but he has a good heart inside." Loki chuckled

"Is that so?" I couldn't help but remember Bete's abrasive manner.

"Yup, he has a rough background, so he doesn't want anyone to get close to him. He tries to motivate everybody to get stronger as soon as possible by talking down on them," Loki explained.

"Regardless, let's move on to the next topic, maybe about who you are," Loki's playful demeanor momentarily faded but quickly returned.

"I am simply a retired adventurer, nothing more, nothing less," I replied.

"Do you expect me to believe that you were an adventurer as a half-goddess?" Loki looked skeptical.

"There wasn't even a half-goddess in history," Loki added

"Do not be mistaken. Both of my parents are normal humans. I achieved the status of a demi-goddess myself," I firmly stated.

"Hooh? So you're saying you are a goddess by achievement and not by birth. Isn't that intriguing?"

"Now, what do you say if I told everyone that a new species called demi-goddess exists?" Loki joked and I emitted a hint of my bloodlust

"Do you want to perish?" I warned, the memory of the assassination attempt by gods and goddesses lingered in my mind.

"Alright, alright, no need for the threat," Loki hastily replied.

I withdrew my bloodlust, and Loki visibly relaxed.

"Phew, did you not care about the repercussions?" she asked.

"I have killed many like you. Does one more matter to me?" I said coldly, recalling past attempts on my life by gods and goddesses.

'Like me, does she mean she killed many gods in the past?' Loki wondered internally.

"Nevertheless, I do not want more attention drawn to me."

"Fine, I won't tell anyone. I'll also inform my familia members who know about this. But, in turn, I want a favor from you when I ask for something," Loki said.

"Acceptable. But do not expect that I will do this favor without a price," I replied firmly.

"If that's all, I will take my leave," I said, and without any objections, I left the manor.

Walking through the quiet streets at night, I aimlessly wandered around without a clear purpose. The moon hung high above, casting an eerie calm over the city as most of its inhabitants were nestled in their beds, preparing for the next day.

"Let me go!" But the stillness was shattered by the desperate plea of a child echoing from an alley

"Haha, you think hiding will save you?" taunted a middle-aged voice, accompanied by the sinister laughter of two others.

"Disgusting, to think they would target a child," I muttered in disgust and rushed over to the commotion.

Extending my senses, I spotted a child being held by the wrist, surrounded by the three figures. As I approached, I unsheathed my katana, and the men turned their attention to the approaching footsteps.

"Your only salvation is death," I whispered, the words accompanied by a soft, cold breeze rustling the nearby trees.

"Thud." Three decapitated bodies fell to the ground, leaving the terrified hooded child trembling.

Turning my attention to the child, I moved closer and took a closer look at her face, which made my brow furrow.

"What are you doing here, little thief?" I inquired, staring at the fallen Liliruca.

"Isn't that supposed to be my question!" Liliruca retorted.

"If that's all you want to say, then I will leave," I responded coldly, ready to depart.

"Wait! Please!" Liliruca's plea caught my attention.

"What do you want? Give me a reason to hear your request," I demanded.

"I... I want to say I'm sorry," Liliruca bowed her head, her voice carrying a tone of sincerity. She continued

"I had no choice but to steal that knife. Those guys always demanded money from me, and I had no choice but to obey. I want to repent for my actions, and I promise not to steal anymore. I was just trying to hide from them," she explained.

"Why didn't you fight back?" I asked, intrigued by her situation.

"I can't. I'm only a low-level supporter, and my god won't update my status. I'm stuck at my current strength," Liliruca confessed.

"To think mortals have fallen so low, relying on gods for their strength. Little girl, do you know how I obtained my current strength?" I questioned her.

"Um, from a god," Liliruca nervously replied.

"Wrong. I achieved this status not by relying on others but through my own strength. Have you forgotten that falna is merely a boost from gods and goddesses?" I emphasized, my voice firm.

"True strength comes from those who have earned it through combat and experience," I continued, reflecting on my own journey.

"I sensed a genuine desire to repent in your voice. In the past, I would have killed you instantly for the crime of betrayal, but I will spare you this time," I stated, realizing how much I had changed since arriving in this world. The transition from a desolate battlefield to a peaceful city had softened me.

"R-Really?" Liliruca's voice snapped me out of my thoughts.
