Chapter 201: No Secrets in Gryffindor

The next day, Albert and his roommates slept until noon before waking up for lunch. Along the way, they overheard many students discussing last night's events.

Last night, Albert's spell in the library caused quite a commotion, waking up many people in the castle.

As expected, the news had spread like wildfire early in the morning.

Jordan couldn't help but find it amusing. Albert had told them about the incident, but who would have thought that a simple Levitation Charm would bring down the large bookshelves in the library? Whenever Jordan recalled Albert's frustrated expression while talking about it in the Room of Requirement last night, he couldn't help but want to laugh. Not many things could make Albert feel frustrated.

But the Room of Requirement was indeed a fantastic place. Those guys only informed Jordan about it last night, making them real jerks!

"This seems to have caused quite a stir," Fred remarked, unable to contain his amazement.

"Eat your food," Albert said, grabbing a chicken leg and stuffing it into Fred's mouth. Then, he turned to his friend, Shana, and asked, "Did they catch those students who were wandering around at night?"

"What a rhetorical question," Fred mumbled, trying to hold back his desire to retort as he chewed the chicken leg.

"We caught them," Shana raised her head and glanced at Albert, speaking softly, "One Hufflepuff and one Ravenclaw student. I heard they were on a date last night. It was supposed to be romantic, but then..."

Haha!

"Sorry, sorry," George couldn't help but chuckle, quickly apologizing.

The people around them looked puzzled, wondering, "Why are you laughing? Is this incident really that funny?"

"Originally, going out for a date at night should be a pretty romantic thing, but the poor couple ended up being scapegoats for someone," George shook his head, "I feel sorry for them; they were just victims of the jerk who caused that noise."

"Yeah, blame that jerk who intentionally made the noise," Fred chimed in, "It even startled me last night."

"Cough, cough," Lee Jordan, who had just taken a big bite of bread, started coughing. He gulped down some water and then recovered, asking, "I heard that the noise came from the library, but nothing seemed to happen there. How strange is that?"

"Really strange, isn't it?" Fred grumbled, "You know what? I think it might have been Peeves the Poltergeist."

In fact, the three of them admired Albert quite a bit. He caused quite a mess in the library with a simple spell. However, before leaving, he managed to restore everything to its original state. What was even more frustrating for them was that Albert even closed the library's doors, leaving everyone puzzled about what exactly happened.

"Why did I hear that it was Gryffindor students who did it?" Albert swallowed his food and grumbled, "The professors have questioned the Fat Lady about it."

"Yeah, I was in the common room at the time, and many people gathered to eavesdrop, but no one knows who did it. According to Professor Smith, it should be an older student from the school," Shana said, looking suspiciously at these four peculiar guys. Her expression suddenly turned odd, and she asked, "Why did you guys wake up so late today?"

"Yeah," Albert said, "We played Wizard Chess until late last night."

"I won the most rounds," Fred boasted proudly. Of course, he wasn't wrong; they only played three rounds, and Fred won two of them.

"Could it be...you guys were the ones last night?" Shana asked softly. Her friend, Angelina, next to her, looked surprised, gazing at these guys in front of her.

There was neither denial nor admission.

The atmosphere suddenly became awkward. Albert and his friends concentrated on eating as if they had been hungry for a long time.

"Really?" Angelina asked hesitantly.

Fred's mouth was full of food, but he managed to mutter, "Who knows?"

"By the way, did you get any owl mail today, I mean from my owl?" Albert changed the topic; he received owl mail almost every week.

"Oh, it's with me!" Shana took out two letters from her robe and handed them to Albert, saying, "I must say, you receive mail quite frequently."

"No choice when you have many pen pals," Albert replied, taking the envelopes and scanning the names of the senders. He shrugged and said, "I've been quite busy lately. I'll have to visit the library later to finish my homework and borrow a few books."

"The library is temporarily closed today and will only be open to the public tomorrow. I heard Professor Pince intends to check the library's collection," Percy said as he stood behind them, holding a plate, scrutinizing the twins. "I heard it was Gryffindor students involved."

"Mm, it's really tough."

"By the way, about last night, it wasn't the older students from the school who did it," Percy suddenly said, "I heard from someone else that none of the older students went out wandering around last night."

"Oh, then who did it?" George asked in response.

"I don't know, everyone is curious about who did it," Percy muttered, "I heard that Fred almost turned the castle upside down last night, but they still didn't catch those students who were out wandering around."

"That's a shame, isn't it?" Fred shrugged.

"Where were you guys last night?" Percy suddenly asked.

"Of course, we were in bed," George couldn't help but roll his eyes, "We played Wizard Chess until late and chatted about Wizard Chess for a while before going to sleep. By the way, do you want to join the Wizard Chess Club?"

"What club?" Percy was taken aback for a moment, not reacting immediately.

"The Wizard Chess Club!" Fred pulled out a Wizard Chess card and playfully waved it in front of Percy, saying, "Do you want to join?"

"This is strange," Charlie muttered.

"What's going on?" Percy looked at his two brothers.

"No one knows who went wandering around last night," George said, "Are you planning to report those few students who were out wandering around?"

"Those guys weren't caught by the professors, but you guys caused trouble for them first," George swallowed his food and couldn't help but mock himself, "That's not right, is it?"

Charlie had a black line on his forehead; what George said wasn't entirely wrong.

After all, Gryffindor had no secrets, right?

"It couldn't be you two, could it?" Percy looked suspiciously at Fred and George, thinking that these two brothers were the type who might do such things.

"Last night, we were discussing Wizard Chess, you know? By the way, Percy, do you mind if we make a card for you?" George asked with mischief.

"No, thanks," Percy rejected dryly.

"In fact, you already have your card; I secretly made one for you," Fred laughed mischievously.

"What's the matter?" Lee Jordan asked as he saw Albert frowning.

"Nothing, just some trivial matters," Albert folded the letter and put it in his pocket.

"That expression of yours doesn't look like nothing," Lee Jordan muttered, but since Albert didn't want to say anything, he didn't ask further.

Among the two letters that Shana gave him, one was from Isabelle, who said that the time for the lesson on the Advanced Brain-Closing Charm had been moved forward.

Originally, Albert had planned to wait until he had finished reading "Advanced Brain-Closing Charm: A Comprehensive Guide" before looking for her to learn the spell.

Sure enough, he ended up getting tricked by himself last night.

He should have taken the risk and brought the "Advanced Brain-Closing Charm: A Comprehensive Guide" with him.

"I'm going now; I have an appointment later!" Albert finished his food and stood up, preparing to go back to the dormitory to get the tuition fee for the Advanced Brain-Closing Charm lesson.

"Isabelle?" Shana suddenly said.

"You actually know that genius from Ravenclaw?" Percy looked quite surprised as he looked at Albert.

"Mm, we're in the same club," Albert said.

"In the same club?" Shana's tone was somewhat peculiar.

"Alright, in two clubs then," Albert shrugged and left.
