(Note that the POV will shift between the characters.)

(Rebekah Willsford)

Bitter End could be considered my birthplace, I evolved right from an infant to a mature girl, in this town. I've got a loving family and we all resided within one of the beautiful houses the town has ever got. This might have been due to the wealth my parents possessed. My grades at high school have always been good, was not dull neither was I too intelligent.

This will be my beautiful last year in Bitter End High School before I graduate, earning the right to go to an awesome university. I've always wanted to be a historian, that could as well be considered my dream. I sighed as I stood before the mighty gates of my school, I hurried to my class as I've always hated being late.

Phasing through the densely packed crowd of students sure took a lot of time. Fortunately, I seated my butt on my rightful place, three minutes before our lecturer entered. 'What took you so long, Rebekah?' Just as I sat my perky butt down, Riana put on a whining face. Riana could be considered my best friend, she was a cheerful person. Lest I forget, she also loved to tease people.

'Had a little heated argument with my very sweet brother, I could have arrived many minutes before now. What's the talk of the town?' Asides teasing, she also gossiped a lot and I was a little curious if there was any information running around.

'Yes, there is. That guy over there is the real talk of the town. He is sure a weird guy. Nonetheless, he's very hot.' Traced the pointing finger of Riana right to a silver haired figure. Could only manage to sight his back view, he sat straight and his silvery hair draped down his back, down to his waist. What a sight to behold!

As if he's got eyes all over his back, he tilted his head backwards and bewildered was I. His face was so handsome and spotless, his blue eyes were as calm as the sea and they only portrayed coldness. I felt uncomfortable as his eyes roamed around my body, I felt like he could see through all secrets of mine. He withdrew his hot gaze after some seconds and relieved was I.

Before I could even think of giving a reply to Riana, our lecturer ran in. Mr Williams taught history and he was good at it, loved was he by all students. 'What a grand audience, welcome back, my wolves. As it is, we have a new wolf in our pack. It will be his pleasure to introduce himself to the audience. Right, Mr Unknown?' His comical way of talking was one of the reasons we loved the history man. Referring all of us to wolves was a thing of his.

Morien focused his hot gaze at the history lecturer before speaking. 'Morien Morningstar.' Very soon, he withdrew his gaze, focusing it at the ceiling. What I could say about him was that he was really weird.

Ignoring the hot and weird guy, the comical Mr Williams went towards the huge board and very soon some words appeared on it. Written on it wes 'The Bitter End'. After writing the words on the huge board, a big smile appeared on his face. 'What can you make of these words?'

'Of course, you're talking about the origin of this town of ours.' A smile found it's way on my face as Riana gave a sharp answer. Right after the answer was given, he gave a nod at her.

'This town's name is weird, there must be a reason behind that. Do you not think so? The thing is that no mortal knows about the origin of this town.' Mr Williams chuckled after speaking. He walked to and fro, lost in his thoughts with his hand on his chin. He was just too comical, why bring up such topic?

Everyone present could say nothing which brought about an awkward silence in the room, I stole a glance at the hot newbie but his gaze was still on the ceiling, he appeared to not even be bothered by anything. He seemed like he didn't belong to this world. A trance embraced me as I looked at him but it was finally broken by a sentence of the comical history lecturer and it seemed that the sentence was aimed at Morien. 'Mr Morningstar, what can you say about this?'

'Since no mortal is aware of that answer, how am I to know or is it that you do not consider me one?' Laughter rang out in the room, that answer was just funny. It appeared that the history lecturer had finally found his match and not wanting to fall back, he retorted. 'Perhaps, you are not a mortal.' The retort only earned him chuckles.

'It's just your speculation but I will still give an answer because I'm no ordinary mortal. This town is old, no doubt about that. Back in the old days, a massacre happened. It was a wandering wild animal, no one in the town could get rid of it. It killed a lot of humans, bloodshed issued. Skins were ripped apart, so many heads rolled, hearts dropped down, gory scenes were rampant. Hunters boozed in and tried putting it down, the result was their death and the disappearance of the animal, they fought to the bitter end but died in vain.' His words shocked everyone present, no one knew the town had such origin.

'Is this not also your speculation? You probably made it up, I guess.' Our comical lecturer smiled, not wanting to believe what the newbie said. Morien finally withdrew his gaze from the ceiling, now focusing it on the lecturer. He spoke nothing else, what a weird hot guy he was.

'A fire kissed a flower, a forceful kiss it was, the flower vanished right away from the face of mother Earth. Dead was it and gone was it but it still blossoms at the bitter end.' I was shocked when Morien muttered some words, though his tone was gentle, it still could be heard by everyone. That poem was written by a famous poet of the past, he was probably an old inhabitant of the town, Mr Erastus Ivern.

'What does the poem have to do with the origin of our town?' My curiosity got the best of me so I had to voice out before the matter died down. Even if I didn't ask, Williams would sure have questioned him. Maybe, I just wanted to make use of this opportunity to get close to him.

'A monster killed a town, a forceful brutality it was, the town vanished right away from the face of mother Earth. Dead was it and gone was it but it still blossoms at the bitter end.' His interpretation casted a set of different expressions on every student's face, including Williams. No one needed to be told that his point was that the poet might have been referring to the origin of the town. I doubted if his point was real for it might have been just a mere coincidence.

At least I wasn't the only one that had that thought. 'It was but a mere coincidence. The poem does match with your speculation but it lacks in authenticity.' Williams gave a reply, a funny one. Morien said nothing, he casted his eyes on me, smiling.

Mr Williams went on with talking about his speculations, some did make sense and some were absurd. After ranting for minutes, the class session was put to an end. He gave a question before leaving, we were told to write our views about the origin of the town. Till the day was brought to an end, I stole a lot of glances at the mysterious Morien. I was surely not the only one, some gazes of awe were casted on him by the girls and gazes of disdain were also on him, the guys were surely jealous of his beauty. When every person in the class was preparing to exit, I stole a glance at him but he was no longer present. A question kept running through my mind as I and Riana made our way to our houses, 'What's up with him?'
