Nothing But Mysterious

(Anastasia Woods)

Some words need not be said, I left the Pack per the order of my Alpha. I was chosen by him as his personal bodyguard. Perhaps, it was because I was one of the best warriors of the Pack. I was always curious about why he needed a protector, that man was very strong. He set this town free, ripping the heads of Vampires and instilling fear in them, something the previous Alpha didn't achieve. Syrel defeated the Alphas of other Packs and sent them away from the town. His huge authority was established, keeping away his enemies.

My wolf was a quiet one, she didn't like boring conversations. I left the Pack and found my way to the high school. Waited at a nearby canteen till the day was put to an end. I had already met Beta Williams earlier this morning. He brought me to the class's door, pointing at my target. After seeing my target, I exited the high school, sitting my butt within a canteen. Finally, my target exited the school. Truth be told, handsome was he. Comparing him to Syrel, he was hotter but not as muscular.

I tagged along with the very cute man, though within the shadows. His walking rhythm was more of a King's, one that bothered not about the affairs of mortals. Minutes after stalking him, he stopped. He tilted his head backwards and gazed at my location, I really did not bother with his action because I was well hidden. My wolf felt uncomfortable as he gazed at my position, it was more like he could see through the huge van I was hiding behind.

Very soon, he arrived at a beautiful mansion. Very few people within the town possessed a mansion, how could a new visitor possess one? He walked right into the mansion and my mission was put to a stop. This continued for days, stalking him sure was not an easy task. It was as if he had eyes all over his back, he was a tough meat to stalk. Finally deciding to check what he was up to in his mansion, I jumped past the fence. Being a werewolf was really not a bad thing, I sneaked around the mansion, making sure that there was no hidden threat, the tactic was sure a useful one.

After that, I summoned the courage to sneak into his abode. I was not a timid wolf, I could be considered a cautious one. I walked right into the den of unknown danger and right after venturing into it, a sound rang out. Perhaps, it was a plate smashed to mother Earth. Not withholding, I went towards the source and a door stood right before my front. Behind the door was the source, I felt like I was walking right into a trap but I didn't want to turn back. Might as well use a fight to gauge his powers.

Carefully pushing the door open, I walked straight into the room. Oh, it was a kitchen and a very clean one. What ruined the beauty of the kitchen was a broken plate lying on the face of mother Earth. I caught sight of Morien towering over the broken plate, he looked at me. His calm but cold eyes gazed at mine. A smile of his finally broke the silence and I felt chills running through my spine as he spoke. 'What took you so long, stalker? I had to smash this innocent plate to draw you here.'

I knew it was a trap, I could have left but I didn't want to. Perhaps, it was due to my curiosity about the way he acts. 'What are you? I know you aren't a human.' Speaking so many words wasn't a thing of mine but I had no choice. A conversation might be the key to know who the man was. He replied not till some seconds ticked away. 'That's for you to find out, don't you think?'

'I'd advise you to leave town right now, my Alpha would not want a rogue Wolf or a stray Vampire in his town. Leave while you still can. You're only welcome if you're a Witch and I'm sure you're not one.' I advised, not wanting a fight. My advice got nothing out of him, it only earned a chuckle from him.

'What if I insist? What could you possibly do to me?' Is it a thing of his to make use of questions as answers? I smiled not, maintaining my cold face. I knew I had to battle him, he had already made it clear that he wasn't leaving. Judging his words, he referred only to me. He did not include the Pack in any of his words, it seemed like he was wary of the Pack. What could a man do against many?

My amber eyes turned bluish with a tint of yellow, my fingers evolved to deadly claws and my fangs grew. Seeing my little transformation, he wasn't bothered. I lunged at him, swiping a claw at his beautiful face. The expected outcome was a bloody gash on his face but my prediction was wrong. He moved backwards a bit and my claw attack missed by a margin, I knew I had already made an opening for him to exploit.

Not waiting for him to exploit the opening I made, I performed a cute backflip to maintain some distance from him. It seemed like I did that for nothing because he didn't move an inch. 'I hate battling when I'm not in the mood. I invited you here just for a lively conversation but you are messing it up, love.' My wolf was irritated by the way he talked to me. I'm already 25 years old and I still haven't found my mate, my wolf hated that fact but she could do nothing so she hated anything related to love.

I lunged at him, again. But this time around, the attack was different. I spiralled in the air with the aim of driving my claws through his heart. Dodging was the only option he had but he chose not to. Just a bit away from even grazing his chest, I was flung to the wall. That punch really set me off edge, I was angered. My opponent moved not an inch but I was not his match. A punch just to cancel off my deadly strike. That attack might have taken the lives of slow opponents. Even after the two attacks I made, I could not guage his abilities for he didn't attack.

I was aware I was nowhere as strong as my Alpha nor the Beta but I was not weak either. I've gotten rid of quite a number of opponents but none stressed me as much as Morien did. With his previous actions, I knew I was no match of his. My wolf urged me to transform fully but I resisted. 'What if I still got beaten after the transformation?' was the thought running through my mind. Perhaps it was because I didn't want him to see my nakedness. 'You're not my match, we can keep on doing this but you'll only end up being tired. You can return to your Pack and tell your Alpha that I'm not here for war. Please, stop stalking me or I might have to take action. I know it must have been hurt to not know what I am but be lucky you're even leaving here alive. That's my first present to your Alpha, your life.' Just as I arose from mother Earth, regaining my standing posture, he spoke. I focused my eyes on his body, he was clad in a black tuxedo suit. Perhaps, he was on his way out before I intruded his privacy. I put my eyes on his ten fingers, trying to find a ring. If he was a Vampire, he would have no choice other than to have a daylight ring to prevent him from burning during the day. Even if he was a Vampire, he must have been powerful to get a Witch to make a daylight ring for him. I sighted it! It was a silvery and charming ring.

Was he a Vampire or a Werewolf? I was not sure but what I did know was that he was no Witch. Witches were extinct, very few existed in the world. He didn't display any trait of a Witch so the notion of him being a Witch was cancelled off. I knew I had to leave and so did I exit the den of an unknown creature, he was nothing but mysterious.
