Note: cover art is not my own. Please let me know if it needs to be removed. Rejected by his clan and family, hurt by those who were supposed to care for and protect him, his one goal in life is to get revenge against those who rejected him and cast him out. Eriwin Zohar is an Ice Dragon, one of the rarest species of dragons to walk the face of the earth. One of the most elegant as well. There's one slight problem however- his family was cursed generations ago so that the next ice dragon who was born into their lineage would never develop into a full fledge dragon. Such a secret is one that can never get out to those who would interested in seeing him fail in his endeavor to reach the pinnacle of success in the business world, lift the curse on him, and get back at those who looked down at him. How hard could it to be to keep such a secret?

Chapter 13

"How so?" Eirwin glanced back at her as he continued to scan the shelves for what he was looking for. It would probably be something that would at least take him a few days to locate. At some point he was going to have to organize everything and create some sort of sorting system.

"It's kind of complicated to explain, but I can tell you once we get everything else we need if this will actually work in the first place." Heather replied as she looked into the glass box once again.

"Isn't it only for the second part anyways that you need the dragon's blood for? We need to make sure that the first spell works to reconstitute the tower so to speak, but even before that we need to find someone who can actually cast the spell."

"I already have that base covered, well mostly at least." Eirwin informed as he came back over to the table. He was done searching for now as he knew that there was way too much for him to cover in one day.

"I know someone who is powerful enough to cast the spell. Getting a hold of them might be a little bit tricky. They're never in the same place twice and their appearance has a habit of changing, but I know a way to bait them."

"A warlock?" She asked as she tried think of what kind person or creature would fit that kind of description.

"More like a jack-of-all-trades type. I'm not actually sure what to classify him as. He's quite fond of sparkly things though and those that are worth a fortune." Eirwin explained.

"He goes by MP. Believed to be short for MagynPie but that's never been confirmed before."

"How do you know so much about him but yet so little at the same time?" Heather asked rather confused by the way the dragon was explaining his relationship with this 'MP'

"Information network. He doesn't talk much about himself, but there are a number of people who know quite a bit about him and are happy to talk about the rumors surrounding him." He elucidated.

"Plus, I have worked with him a few times when it comes to getting some of the more difficult things that I cannot afford to collect myself. He's hard to bargain with, but he is reliable so it's worth the trouble and price."

"And someone like that is reliable when it comes to magic and could get this to work?" She asked, pointing at the glass box.

"Technically speaking, yes. Or if he himself cannot figure it out, he's bound to have information on someone who would." Eirwin confirmed.

"Considering how late it is getting in the day, I believe that it is about time for you to be heading back for the day. We can talk more about things tomorrow and like I had said before, I will make sure to get the temporary contract and everything together for you to sign." Heather was rather caught off-guard by this.

"Wait, I'm just supposed to leave now after everything that we were just talking about?" She asked rather baffled by this sudden turn of events.

"Indeed, because there's nothing more than can be done about all of this today and I'm still working on a tight schedule that has been thrown off by everything that happened today." He replied as he motioned for her to leave the room ahead of him so he could like it, Heather complied even though she was feeling rather confused still.

"I mean no offense by this, I just focus better when other people are around and I'm sure that there's some background research that you would like to get on after hearing about all of this. Hence, it is in both of our best interests to part for today and meet again tomorrow." He concluded.

"I'm not really sure that I understand your train of thought or can really agree with the shift, but alright if you have other things to do. I guess I can start looking at things and come back tomorrow." She conceded rather hesitantly. There had been a number of other things that she had still been hoping to talk with the other about and was thus rather disappointed that he was sending her away suddenly. She knew better though than to argue with a dragon.

"Perfect. Alfred will send you back of course as I would imagine this place is a bit of the way from where you live and you didn't bring any type of transportation with you to get here." He said summoning Alfred this way who had been preoccupied with taking care chores on the other end of the house.

"I think that meeting tomorrow again at half past nine in the morning should be a fair time and hopefully no other incidents like what happened today will occur so that tomorrow will be productive." He said with a decisive nod of his head a she held his hand out for her to shake.

"I bid you adieu, miss Jennings." He said as he shook her hand. She gave him an odd look but didn't say anything further beyond bidding him goodbye as well.

He certainly had an interesting personality that was going to take her a while to get used to, especially if he swapped his objectives around so quickly. How was she going to be able to work with someone like that if it turned out the dragon did that with everything his work life?

Such an expected quick shift on priorities might turn out to be more than she could handle as she had a habit of getting stuck on one thing that interested her for a long while until she learned or figured out everything about it that she could.

It was possible however that this might turn into a sticking point between the two of them if Eirwin turned out to not be a patient person. It certainly seemed like from what little she knew about him that shifted between blowing hot and cold rather fast depending on the situation. She was also going to need to take time to find out more information about Ice Dragons as well, it might give her insight if any such books still existed.
