Why won't you leave us alone?

"Move it!"

Ava yelled, carrying Yuichi in her arms as she ran down the hall with Mark racing behind her.

He also had Mira in his hands but he was still struggling to catch up to Ava, mostly because they kept running past a group of kids.

"Big brother, where are you going with aunty Mira?" One of the small girls asked, but Mark was moving too fast to stop.

"Ella! Go to your room!" Mark yelled as he ran, looking back a bit so he could see the children. But to his surprise, he found the woman and the man chasing behind him.

"Uhhnnn, Ava, they're right behind us!"

"Then shut up and move faster!" Ava replied.

The entrance door blew up after Ava shot it with her blue lightning. She ran out of it, moving so fast that her feet were creating self-mirages.

After a few seconds, Mark came out of the dust, his face with panic as he screamed out of the house.

The sun was scorching hot, making it a bit difficult for Mark to muster up the strength to run faster.

Ava raced, her eyes focused in front of her not caring about whatever was behind her. All her motivation was fixed on first leaving the district.

She spotted a huge rock to her right and got ready to make a sharp turn, but just right after her leg slid on the ground, she was met by a large mecha that jumped out of the woods beside her.

In an effort to make a quick stop, Ava fell to the ground with her back sliding against the ground while she protected Yuichi's head with her chest.

She came to a stop in front of the mecha as soon as her leg hit the mecha's foot.

"Yuichi!" Ava cried out with a worrisome look on her face, resting his head on the ground and looking at his face, Ava made a sigh of relief knowing he wasn't damaged from the fall.

[Stay where you are and don't move….]

A static voice came from the mecha in front of Ava.

Realizing the situation, Ava instantly pulled out the knife she had with her and leaped back with Yuichi still in her arms.

With a more clear view of the mecha, Ava was stunned when she saw that it was almost as big as the trees beside it.

[Kid, you've caused enough today… give up or we'll be forced to retaliate]

Ava gripped the handle of the knife tightly, ready to go one on one with the huge metal bot in front of her.

"Ava!"

Ava looked back to see Mark being held down by more people in glowing suits and huge mechas.

This was when she knew getting out of the district might be more difficult than she had initially thought.

She looked at Yuichi, a sense of disappointment hitting her face. The fact that she couldn't get him out of the district was slowly hitting on her.

"Annoying, why won't they leave us alone." Ava muttered, rubbing her palm on Yuichi's face, "Don't worry, I'll get us to district 6… but first, let me take care of the bad people".

Ava slowly stood from the ground with the knife still in her hand. The giant Mecha was a few feet in front of her.

"Lieutenant, the target is right in front of me, should I engage?" A black haired woman in a lighting bodysuit spoke into her intercom.

She was sitting inside the mecha and had her eyes on Ava and Yuichi, but since Ava was looking down she couldn't get a good view of what Ava looked like.

[Good work Sergeant Dina, now bring back both of them, Sergeant Laura has her team on the other boy … remember they are not normal, one wrong move and you can be dead]

"Understood." Dina replied. She cut the radio and placed both her hands on the control of the mecha.

"Hey kid, it's time to go back, okay? I'll get you back to the orphanage with no harm… I promise." Dina said with a soft voice, slowly reaching the hand of the mecha closer to Ava.

Right at the split second, when Dina had gotten close and wanted to grab hold of Yuichi, Ava attacked.

Her eyes glowed as the knife in her hand started sending out lightning that was blasting nearby trees away.

Dina was quick to move back, but even she knew she wasn't faster than lightning; her Mecha split open in the middle when Ava slashed the sword at her.

The slash was so powerful, that the ground in front of Ava separated from the immersive destruction of lightning.

Dina's mecha landed on its back, with its chest opened, exposing Dina who was inside.

The fear on Dina's face gradually grew the more she looked at how scary Ava was from afar.

Ava was slowly moving closer, but before she could take another step, a stray bullet hit her on her leg which dropped her to her knees.

Ava looked back and noticed the soldiers closing in on her from all directions, while some were with guns, others were riding inside their mechas.

"Leave us." Ava muttered, "Why won't you leave us alone!" She raged, lightning rushing out of her body and striking anything in its vicinity.

Some of the soldiers had their bodies blown to bits after they were exposed to the destructive power of lightning.

Even Mechas were shattered just from a single blast, almost every soldier there was afraid of getting close

Ava seized her attack when she felt another gunshot hit her on her second leg, causing her to fall to the ground.

She groaned from the pain, before looking back to see Dina, with a gun in her hands aimed at her.

"I'll kill you!" Ava yelled as she struggled to stand to her feet.

She somehow collected the strength and motivation she needed to stand to her feet, blood leaking from both holes in her leg.

But all her struggles were from nothing when a man in the middle of the soldier pulled out a pistol and gave Ava a direct shot to the head.

She fell right on top of Yuichi, no movement coming from her as the soldier used the time to surround both her and Yuichi.
