Plan to escape
Ava slightly opened the door to peep outside and make sure nobody was in the passageway.
"Is anyone there?" Mark whispered from the back, stretching his neck to see if he could also peep through.
The passage was free which made it clear for Mark and Ava to pass through. Of course, they wanted to make their escape hidden so Rachel won't find out about it.
Taking slow steps toward the next room, Ava gently turned the knob so she could check who was inside without making any noise.
Her eyes widened in shock when she looked inside and saw Yuichi, laying on the ground with three other children and Mira among the unconscious ones.
'Yuichi!' Ava gripped the doorknob with force as she tried to maintain the anger she was feeling.
But since Mark wasn't willing to let them get caught, He immediately used his hand to cover Ava's mouth from behind.
"Sush!" Mark hushed her, gesturing to his message that she should focus on what was going on inside the room.
She understood instantly, Ava knew messing up would be risky at that point, so she continued spying until she could find the right time to act.
Inside the room was Rachel standing close to three people in green glowing body suits. Both Mark and Ava leaned closer to the door so they could get a good hearing of what they were discussing.
"Why only four today, last week, you promised to bring more." A grown man spoke with an angry tone.
"I-I'm sorry, t-hat was the only few that had the XH2 inside them." Rachel's voice trembled in the background.
"Dammit!" Another young man spoke out, "These things are entering the district, what the hell are the XED doing!".
"The Jixa base in District 6 has been doing a good job securing their hideout, but if we don't do something about District 7, we might have to run away from Central cathedral" A female added.
"Damn cursed freaks, We're running out of XH2, there's no way I'll be forced to depend on a Cursed human, I refuse to do that… Rachel!" The man yelled.
"Y-Yes!" Rachel shook in fear.
"We had a deal, you give us these bastards and in return, we help you threat your husband… do not fuck with me any more than you already have." The man said again but this time with a more threatening voice.
"I-I understand, I'll make sure to get more." Rachel replied, her eyes focused on the ground with fear written on her face.
Ava and Mark were listening in on the conversation, and were able to get a few points from the little things they were able to hear.
Although Ava didn't seem the least bit surprised, the same didn't go for Mark. For someone who had a huge amount of faith in Rachel, he was extremely shocked and heartbroken.
"There's no way Miss Rechel sells the kids right?" Mark whispered to Ava, his eyes nearly coming to tears.
"Look, if you're going to cry about every little thing, then you should leave now… I don't need you holding me back." Ava whispered back with her eyes focused on the conversation.
Mark scowled his face to toughen himself up, before he went back to spying.
"Good." Ava uttered after she noticed Mark was willing to stay. "Move back a little." She suddenly spoke out.
"Uhn?"
"Trust me… move back".
A woman with blonde hair who was in the room with the men sat down on the bed and placed her leg on top of Yuichi's chest as she spoke.
"I get being desperate, but isn't using grown peeps a waste, they could still help in fighting the Xynoins." The woman spoke.
"It's a once in a while thing, two grown bastards won't exactly change much." The young man replied.
He then walked over to the bodies on the floor and carried two kids on his shoulder, "Let's move, Luietantet Fraco, is probably getting impatient by now".
"Alrighty then." The woman sprung up from the bed and carried Mira in her arms as she began to walk toward the entrance, humming a song in her head.
The older man who was opposite Rachel suddenly sensed something and yelled, "Wai-".
Before he could even complete his words, A fast moving chain covered in blue lightning collided with the door, splintering the wood and sending it flying across the room.
Ava stepped inside, her eyes ablaze with determination, as she began to whirl the chain around her head. Each strike ended with a deafening crash as blue lightning leached into the chains, sending shards of plaster and debris flying in all directions.
The people in the room immediately went to the ground, placing their hands above their heads to protect themselves from the falling woods.
As the room began to crumble around her, Ava showed no signs of slowing down.
She continued to rain down blows upon the walls and ceiling, causing them to buckle and cave in on themselves.
The sound of grinding metal, lightning sounds, and breaking concrete filled the air, as the destruction grew more and more intense.
Ava suddenly let go of the chain but it still kept dancing around with the lightning still covering it.
"Now! Mark, grab Mira and run!" Ava shouted, immediately carrying Yuichi from the ground and racing toward the exit.
"R-Right." Mark rushed into the room, he was definitely afraid but knew he had no time to hesitate.
Getting close, he picked Mira from the lady's front and began running, following behind Ava at full speed.
Finally, the chain dance came to a stop and the room lay in ruins, rubble and debris scattered everywhere.
The man who was covered in rock immediately stood up and caught a glimpse of Mark exiting the room.
"Those darn cursed bastards! Get them!" The man yelled, clicking the small button positioned on the neck area of his bodysuit.
The rest slowly started digging their way out of the rubles, with anger written on their faces as they immediately pursued Ava and Mark with intense energy.
