Uncle Franklin

He rushed back inside slamming the door so hard that Ashley was startled by it.

"What's going on?" She questioned looking her paranoid brother who speedily locked the door.

"Nothing" He replied not wanting to worry her about a hypothesis he made up in his head. It might be the mailman who had dropped off the letter. Maybe their mailbox was jammed and the mailman just had to drop it in the flowerpot.

He raced upstairs to his room locking the door behind him while he slowly opened the note which only read "The time is Nigh." He paused, trying to process and think out what the words meant. He searched the entire sheet frantically looking for a hidden message but didn't find any.

His heartbeat escalated and he could feel his body perspiring more than it usually did.

'This might be a death threat' his mind suggested but he shook the idea off not wanting to overthink anything. He already had too much on his plate and receiving notes like this only added more to his burden. He strongly wanted to believe it was one of these teenagers or kids trying to pull a prank on him but it wasn't looking like it.

The book was branded with a seal, looking more like a watermark because it was faint and on the seal, he could see a woman being circled by beast's he had never heard or seen before. This time, he was really believing it was kids lost in a world of fantasy and was probably inviting his friends for their fantasy based events.

A wave of relief hit him and his heartbeat slowed down while a short laugh escaped his lips. He was twenty four and he was worrying like a baby.

She stood startled by his brother. He had just slammed the door forcefully as if he was chased inside by something or someone. She had asked him if anything was wrong and his reply definitely said otherwise from how he acted.

He was always a terrible liar and she could tell something was bothering him with just a single look at his face but he was the exact opposite. She had received a note just two days ago saying "The time is nigh" she couldn't decipher what it meant so she had ignored the paper throwing into the nearest bin she saw only to find the another exact note in her bag after her classes.

She was definitely scared but it might have been a coincidence. That or somebody was toying with her so she had disposed of the second one only to come back home and find another paper on their flower pot. She had immediately realized whoever was dropping these notes was following her and he knew their house now.

She had stayed home today, afraid of returning to school. With all the deaths happening around and now she was receiving notes she didn't know where they came from and from the way things looked, the writer didn't have very good intentions.

She didn't want to tell her brother. He already had so much he was battling with and things like this would certainly set him off and that was the last thing she wanted in their current situation.

She was going to find whoever that was messing with her and when she did, she will make sure they had a fair share of their own torture.

She returned to the couch pushing the thoughts of her stalker aside and trying to focus on the program on the television. She didn't want stress from a note that might not be relevant in her life what she needed was to relax and enjoy her weekend and that was what she was going to do.

Her peace was however shortlived when a knock came to the door. She paused for a bit, reducing the volume of the television just to make sure she heard correctly and sure enough the knock came for the second time and she slowly got up from the couch, her heart almost beating out of her chest. They rarely had visitors and so it was weird for someone to just show up unannounced especially when she had finished think of a stalking psychopath.

She slowly advanced towards the door, first taking a look out the peephole to identify their visitor and sure she recognized him.

Uncle Franklin if she remembers correctly. Her father's brother.

What could he be doing here? She questioned herself before opening the door.

"Uncle Frank" she pronounced just as she opened the door and she had immediately regretted her actions.

The pyscho had swung a dagger at her and she had barely dodged the attack. She had just made a shocking discovery. Uncle Frank was her stalker
