Uncle Franklin II

He sat on his bed smiling at his realization of a joke the note was when he heard the door open.

He paused for a bit wanting to make sure he heard correctly and sure enough, he could his sister Ashley talking to someone and then suddenly he heard furniture breaking.

Standing up from his bed immediately he lurched towards the door and down the stairs chanting the words

"Is everything okay down there?"

Nothing was okay and he had just seen for himself. A man who he had immediately recognized as their uncle was holding up a dagger and for some reason chasing after his sister around the room.

"Uncle Frank what's going on?" Justin asked just before Ashley ran to where he stood hiding behind his brothers back.

"The time is Nigh" was all his uncle could vocalize and the bitter truth of reality had just struck him. He had convinced himself to believe that the note was a prank but hearing his uncle right now he had definitely confirmed his hypothesis of it being a death threat.

"Run!" Justin ordered letting his sister run off first up the stairs before he trailed after her. For some weird reason, he noticed that his uncle wasn't really interested in him. He had only one target and it just made him question himself.

'was the note meant for him or Ashley and was she keeping some sort of secret about it from him' he shook the thoughts off his mind not wanting to develop any feeling of untrust towards her. After all, he had also kept something from her too.

They both made it upstairs and raced into the first room they laid eyes on. It was their parents room or used to be and so far, nobody has entered it until now.

Justin slammed the door shut before locking it up.

"What's going on?" He asked admist his quest to catch his breath. Looking up at his sister for answers.

"I don't know,"She began "I've been receiving these notes that make no sense at all, in school and even at home and now uncle Frank shows up and he wants to kill me" She explained

"You mean like this one?" Justin asked showing her the note he had slipped into his pocket before running downstairs.

She took the paper out of his hands and took a quick assessment of the words written in it. It was the exact same thing she had received and this had explained why he was acting worked up after his return from the grocery store.

"Yes" Ashley confirmed "Where did you get this?"

"On the flowep.." He had barely finished when the dagger plunged through the wooden door and into the room. More jabbing followed suite until there was a hole in the room big enough to fit one's whole arm.

Justin looked around immediately, his eyes catching a glimpse of a falling window frame which he had without hesitation yanked out and waited for their adversary to make his entry.

Frank's hand slipped in through the whole frantically searching for the door lock and when he did, he undid the lock and dashed in only to be welcomed with a heavy blow to the head. His head spun around and he struggled to keep his body weight on his feet. He stumbled around, looking for something to hold unto but another blow finally knocked him out and he fell with a thud on the dusty floor.

"Is he dead?" Ashley asked his brother who had bent low to separate the dagger from the man's hand.

"No just unconscious" Justin replied taking the dagger off the maniac's grip and checking his pulse just to make sure he wasn't dead.

"Should we call the police?" Ashley asked.

"No, not yet" came Justin's reply as he pulled the unconscious man off the dusty floor and out of the room.

He bound him up to a chair after a thorough search of his clothing and all he had on him taking extra precautions Incase he wore explosives.

They had been rummaging through his stuff, when the man had started to regain consciousness.

"Untie me you rats!" He bellowed making effortless struggles to break free.

The two siblings looked at each other, none of them able to come up with a reply for the tied up psychopath.

"What are you doing here?" Justin finally asked standing from where he crouched down on searching his uncle's stuff.

"I said untie me!" Frank ordered no feeling of remorse for his actions.

Justin walked up to the man angrily knocking both him and the chair down with a punch to the face.

"Answer me!" He said almost shouting. He just couldn't bear the unwavered expression on his uncle's face even though he had just tried to murder his own niece.

He pulled the chair up and gripped his uncle by the collar, his second hand raised to deliver another blow it he didn't comply.

After making a punching bag out of the man and still no information, they'd finally called the police and had him arrested. The only words he kept repeating were the ones written on the note they had both received and hearing him say it invited fear into his body but he didn't want to show it..

"What do we do now?" Ashley asked after she had given her statement to the police. She was honestly confused and still shocked from what had happened. weird things were going on in their town and everybody was acting like they weren't aware of it. Few days ago, she could remember seeing her uncle Frank on campus but she had never guessed he was trailing her and she didn't even care to greet him or anything. He might be there to get his son enrolled or whatever. She didn't care. None of them really came through for them after their parents death and they had survived on their own since then.

"Never open the door for anyone unless it's the police" Justin said. He honestly didn't even know what to say at this point besides what he had just said. The town was getting more unsafe by the day and he could feel evil encroaching more and more everyday. Something was definitely wrong with this town and he honestly didn't want to get caught up in it.
