The Promise of the Beast King

In the country of Glaran there was a city currently in war with mother nature.

It was the beast tide.

Nobody knew the origins of this beast tide, but this event nonetheless made the city look extemely gloomy.

There were dark clouds covering the entire city. It's walls sounding out shouts of pain and perseverence. Soldiers fighting for the protection of their beautiful city.

But it wasn't too bad.

There were cultivators fighting on the ground and flying in the air.

Most of them were Law Accumulation Realm cultivators but there were many from the Law Breaking, and Soul Building Realm cultivators fighting alongside them.

There were magnificent fireworks going around on top of the city. Giving the mortals entertainment while the cultivators showcased their magnificent strength!

The citizens looked at all of this with bright eyes as they looked at the magnificent figures fighting in the sky.

They were cultivators!

They actually came to save them!

But as they were feeling relief and joy from this episode they suddenly heard a piercing roar.

"ROOOOAAAARRR!"

The mountains in the distance shaked while many tupper ware in the houses crumbled and exploded from the shock of the sound.

Many mortals suddenly fainted. They couldn't resist the pressure exuded by the roar.

The cultivators suddenly grimaced while waving their hands in the air.

A magnificent light field was suddenly erected around the city. Making the city glow bright in the day time as if a lamp was used during night time.

After some time the mortals stopped fainting, the pressure from the voice had been greatly reduced because of the light barrier protecting them.

Some of the civilians still awake were suddenly shivering in their homes. Clutching onto each other in a false hope of safety.

What was that!?

They promised nothing was going to happen!

Suddenly a red pillar of light shot out of the forest.

At first the red light was only a few kilometers wide.

But then the shockwaves happened.

Earthquakes were occuring while dirt and dust from thousands of miles away was being slung across the mountain range all the way to the capital.

The thrown dirt and dust were so massive that it hurled a dust storm towards the city of Alron. Taking the brunt of the damage from the storm.

As this happened the red light expanded until it was thousands of kilometers large!

It created a domain of red light where it was vaporising all of the dead matter from the forests and kingdoms into a power source. Sucking the essence from all of them.

Suddenly a deep voice with a hidden growl was speaking from this red light. It's volume was so loud that everyone could 'feel' what it was saying. It's sound vibrations being felt in their bones.

After a long time of just growling it finally spoke in human words.

"I am the Beast King!"

"I have come to take my revenge on the royal family of Glaran."

"You have killed my pups, so I am here to kill yours."

"Be ready, For you have brought this war upon yourselves!"

"The pitiful mortals matter not to me."

"This hatred can only be solved by blood!"

After the Beast King finished it's speech a boom sound was heard as the red light exploded.

The red light disappeared and transformed into red wisps. Spreading and covering across the entire kingdom as the red wisps traveled far and wide.

The red wisps flew around the entire country carrying it's message.

It's declaration for war.

A city far away from the capital of Glaran recieved these red wisps.

The citizens were in shock as thousands of these red wisped stayed on the sky emitting one message.

"I am the Beast King..."

"I have come to take revenge!"

Shortly before in Alron...

"The cultivator has delivered citizens!"

"Close the gates!"

"Someone grab the corpse! Use it to lead some beast packs away!"

A captain at the gate was screaming orders to all of the guards as soon as the cultivator had left.

Sarah, Damian, and Jonah were looking at all of this frozen.

This looked like a war.

'I thought this was meant to be a peaceful place.' The trio thought.

"Oi! Get away from the gate or else we'll use you as meat shields!" A guard said beside them.

The three of them quickly took some steps back and entered deeper deeper into Alron.

They were finally here.

Sure there were some beasts attacking but this would be their new home.

They just had to get used to them.

The trio turned around and faced each other.

Jonah's job was done.

It was finally time to say goodbye.

"Thank you for helping us reach all the way here to Alron." Sarah thanked.

"Yes. You were easily worth the coin I paid for you. I wish I got to know you more during the trip." Damian said

"No, it's fine. I've accomplished my task and I have gotten the payment. So this is goodbye." Jonah said with a warm voice compared to his previously cold disposition.

"Ah wait. How long are you staying in Alron? If you don't mind me asking." Damian asked.

"About two weeks. I'll probably be on another mission by then. Jonah answered.

The three of them talked, trying to say their goodbyes to each other.

Sarah smiled at Jonah's answer.

She waved her hand towards him, urging him to come towards her to hear a little secret.

Jonah had a bit of a perplexed look, but got curious and got closer to Sarah as she started whispering into his ear.

"We didn't get much time to have some fun during the trip. Even though I promised you."

"S we should meet and hangout as 'friends' sometimes. Let's exchange addresses so we can meetup." Sarah said with a hidden meaning.

Jonah suddenly gulped at Sarah's suggestion. Damian was watching all of this happen with a look of indifference.

Sure he was happy that Jonah helped Sarah but otherwise he wouldn't really care.

But he had to care about what Jonah does.

He had a lot of worth afterall.

'He's strong. Really strong... I should try and build a friendship with him. Maybe I can involve him in my business one day.' Damian planned.

Just as Jonah was going to respond to Sarah, suddenly a red light was seen from the horizon.

The three of them stopped talking as they looked at the light in the distance.

Sarah squinted her eyes as she saw the massive pillar of red light.

It was expanding.

It was expanding really fast!

Sarah looked with wide eyes.

Suddenly her hair was swept up a strong wind came and started blowing on her.

Damian quickly came by Sarah's side and held her hand so she didn't fall.

After a while the light suddenly exploded.

BOOM!

A huge booming sound was hear as earthquakes started happening everywhere around them.

Jonah watched in horror as the red light reflected off his eyes. Showing truly how massive of an impact this blast had.

But then after a while red wisps started flowing out of the explosion of red light. It was going around covering the whole city as they were floating in the air.

A few moments later they heard a deep growl.

Then they heard a promise of vengeance.
