"I think I'm something else..." Damian said with uncertainty.
Jonah looked at Damian and saw the confusion and hidden fear in his expression.
'Something else huh...' Jonah thought as he gave a deep look into Damian's suffering.
He could see what type of suffering he was going through right now.
That was his specialty after all...
"Do you have clawed hands? Do you have fangs growing out of your jaws? Do you suddenly feel as if you have an urge to howl when you look at the full moon?"
Jonah bombarded Damian with a ton of confusing questions that he had no idea about.
Damian furrowed his brows as he gave a stare at Jonah.
"Are you making fun of me?" Damian says with anger. His voice gave a type of cold that could restrict a being's soul.
But Jonah didn't feel it, as he shook his head and looked to his side in hesitation.
'Should I show him...?' Jonah thought as he predicted how this situation would go if he revealed himself.
Situation Number One: Damian would feel a bit apprehensive at first but then he would try and search for answers. His calm nature would resurface from the previous apprehension and would look at the situation with an open mind.
Situation Number Two: Damian would feel apprehension, and then become shocked. He would become hysterical from fear and alert the whole entire camp about Jonah's secret, and probably try to get him killed.
Jonah took a while to answer Damian's serious inquiry as he hesitated if he could trust Damian's personality or not.
'Scenario One would be what Damian would most likely do according to his personality traits that I had uncovered. He isn't easily surprised as he would most likely try and analyze his situation before he jumped to any conclusions. A calm and open-minded individual is what represents Damian's mindscape...' Jonah analyzed.
'But, in Scenario Two, Damian would most likely freak out and alert the entire military camp since a supernatural phenomenon was displayed before him by a close colleague. Most likely bringing out the pitchforks, and burning me alive as they chant 'Kill the wolf!' or something like that. A closed-minded person which can't handle huge changes would be the average person's mindscape, which could possibly be Damian...' Jonah thought as he frowned for a moment.
'Should I trust Damian's personality or human nature?' Jonah thought as he seemed to have reached an impasse in his analysis.
He is stuck on a half-destroyed bridge with a haystack on the bottom below him. The only way to move forward is to jump into that haystack and hope he doesn't die.
He looks at Damian deeply as he considers his decision.
'I have to take a leap of faith...'
Jonah closed his eyes as he took a deep breath.
He stays in that position for a few moments, while he left Damian waiting for his answer.
'Is this guy not going to answer me?' Damian thought as his anger started rising up.
But soon, Jonah opens his eyes as he looks into Damian's gaze.
"I will show you what you could be..." Jonah said as he suddenly gritted his teeth and lifted his hand to show Damian.
Jonah takes another deep breath before he decides to show Damian the truth.
He extends his finger as hair starts to rapidly grow over his entire hand.
It was gold-coloured as his nails started extending, and transformed into a void black colour.
Different from his awakening, Jonah's nails are connected with a line of cracks to his fingers. Looking as if he had shattered fingers that only reached till the end of a finger, not crossing into the palm area.
Soon Jonah's entire hand transforms into his werewolf hands, with new features he had never discovered before.
As all of this happened, Damian was wide-eyed but unusually quiet.
He didn't want to disturb the magic that was happening before his eyes.
He had just seen a grown man's arm turn into a furry clawed hand. Giving an indescribable feeling of...
Morrowl?
Damian couldn't figure it out. He shook his head as he listened to Jonah's next words carefully.
"Have you ever experienced anything like this before?" Jonah asked as he stared at Damian with anxiety bubbling within himself.
"No..." Damian said in a daze. He focused on Jonah's furry arm as he tried to figure out how all of this could be possible.
Damian soon looks back at Jonah and starts to slowly think of a situation that he probably didn't want to believe in.
"Umm, are you a cultivator?" Damian asked Jonah.
Jonah pauses for a moment before he nods.
'Oh my god!' Damian shouted in his mind.
This would be the typical reaction of anyone faced with a cultivator for the first time.
Heroes of legends being right in front of you, really made this entire ordeal magical, leading to a shock as they start to admire the cultivator before them.
But Damian wasn't admiring right now.
Because he suddenly connected all of this when it happened to Sarah!
The carriage they rode to Alron was covered with blood and hair when Sarah awakened.
But since Jonah could transform his arm into a furry monster, did that mean Sarah could do it as well?
Was Sarah a monster!?
"Wait! My sister became a cultivator as well." Damian quickly said to Jonah before he continued with his questioning.
"Then does that mean she will become, that!" Damian said as he pointed at Jonah's arm in worry.
Jonah looks at where Damian was pointing and gave a bitter smile.
"No... I'm not exactly human. Trust me, Sarah isn't going to become like me anytime soon." Jonah said in a reassuring tone.
'Well, at least I hope she doesn't...' Jonah sighed inwardly.
"Anyway, have you seen any of these things happen to you? Because if you aren't a cultivator, then it only means you're not exactly human anymore." Jonah told Damian.
Danian cupped his chin as he went into thought.
What Jonah told him was outrageous, but it also made a lot of sense.
'What could I possibly be?' Damian pondered.
But soon he stopped thinking as he shook his head.
'It doesn't matter how much I think about this, I don't know who I am.' Damian lamented.
"I don't know what I could possibly be. The piece of information I have is that I suddenly heal quickly, but I can't heal when I'm hungry." Damian said to Jonah.
Jonah soon frowned at Damian's information.
"What do you mean you can't heal if you're hungry? We can heal even if we are starving to death. Also, if you eat a bit of food, you should've already started healing." Jonah said with a difficult expression.
'Why is this guy so troublesome...' Jonah thought as he started to get a headache.
"Bah! Let me be. It's not my fault I don't know what I am." Damian said with unconcealed frustration. He was starting to get really frustrated over the fact that he didn't know what he was becoming.
He had no idea what caused the change, and he also was starting to get worried about Sarah.
'She looked much worse than me.' Damian thought as he remembered the bloody carriage.
Jonah sighed as he got up from his seat and went towards the tent exit.
"Well, when you heal up come to me if you figured anything out. I can try and help you." Jonah said his farewells as he left Damian's tent.
Damian sat on his bed while holding his arms. The blood from the stitches now spreading to the bandages.
'I hope I won't die of blood loss.' Damian thought as he went back to sleep again.
_________________________
Far away from Damian's abode, a girl was awake in the middle of the night as she panted with deep breaths. Sweat trickled down her face as it landed on her chest.
"Darling~" Mia moaned as she took a sharp breath on her bed.
"I want to see you..." Mia said in a lonely voice.
She suddenly moaned again as she felt liquids trickling down her legs.
She brought her hand towards her face and saw the wet liquid all over her hands.
'Don't worry, I'll heal you soon.' Mia thought as she had a blushed smile on her beautiful countenance.
The man in her dreams told her that to heal him, she needed to show her love through action.
And Mia decided she would do exactly that!
She was going to show her love through action.
Mia giggled to herself as she swapped her currently wet clothes for dry ones sitting on a chair near her.
After she wore her new clothes, she grabbed a shirt with some bloodstains and smelt it as she laid back down on her bed.
Her smile intensified as an orange light shined in her eyes.
'I'll show my love soon...' Mia thought with glee as she snuggled the bloody shirt and covered herself with a blanket. A comfortable expression adorning her sleeping face.
Alright! New Chapter done for the night!
