Sitting leisurely on a chair by my study desk was Rowan. He had a big T-shirt on and a loose pair of pants. He seemed to have finished a video call when I walked right in. I didn't notice all these until he greeted me.
I turned conscious of myself and my surroundings the moment I heard his voice. I quickly adjusted my wig to cover more of my face so he wouldn't easily read my mood. " I know you missed me." I responded without excitement. Keeping my bag on the bed I went straight to the bathroom to make more adjustments. Hiding anything from Rowan was going to be very hard.
Looking at the mirror, I noticed how both sides of my cheeks had a subtle mark of them. The colour of my skin had changed subtly in the areas I had been hit. " Oh no..." I murmured under my breath. " ....it's going to show." That was a fact I was struggling to accept. How was I supposed to act like nothing happened when there was glaring evidence on my face that something did happen.
