Chapter twenty four: be my queen

Eugene's pov:

"I am a full blooded demon, your majesty. I am not a spirit" she said calmly. Now her calmness angered my mother. "Then how do explain what Samantha said just now?" She growled. Heaven looked up at her, "l am a plant whisperer, it is as simple as that" she said calmly again, but this time my mother calmed down. She seems to realize that she was wrong. "I'm sorry about that Heaven, my mother is just trying to be cautious" said Angel. "Her majesty is the queen, she had to be cautious. Your highness, you don't have to apologize" Said Heaven. Then my father asked her to get up, and she thanked him. "Uhmm brother, have you tried to .. you know" Angel said meaningfully. What! Even she is suggesting this too?. "But she is just a maid?" Said my mother as she looked at Heaven with a hint of disgust. I don't know, l feel like shouting at her not to look at her like that ever again. Something is definitely wrong with me. " That doesn't mean anything mom" Angel insisted. Heaven looked confused, and looked even more confused when she saw me approaching her. I went near her and held her hand. And the spell activated , and a bright light shone from my hand, indicating that l have found the perfect substitute. Well this is unexpected. Lucas and Angel smiled, while my parents were shocked. "It can't be" said Xavier. "What is going on?" Troy asked. "Well, it seems we have found our queen" Angel said smilingly. "What?, Really?" Jeremy said happily. Heaven snatched her hand from mine, she looked so confused, her confused face is beautiful to watch. She doesn't seem happy about this but she isn't asking any questions either. "What!!, That's impossble, that can't be true" Samantha shouted like a crazy woman. Even after the talk we had she is still living in fantasies, l really pity her. "How is it impossible?, Are trying to say that the king can't recognize his own mate?" Lucas growled at her. But she kept shaking her head not wanting to believe it. "This means that sister Heaven is a part of our family now" Troy said happily as he hugged her. That's strange, Troy doesn't like people generally. My father sighed, "son, now that we have found one, it is better to act fast" he mindlinked me. "I understand" l replied. "What's wrong Sister Heaven, aren't you happy?" said Troy. But she didn't reply, she seemed lost. " Heaven are you okay?" Jeremy asked worriedly. "I'm alright, l just need to go for now, please excuse me" before we could say jack, she disappeared.

I get that she is confused, but why is she unhappy. Any girl would be more than happy to a queen. "Why isn't she happy?, Did you guys have a fight before?" Jeremy asked. "No we didn't" l said simply. "I'll go and talk to her, maybe she is just confused" said Angel. "That would be after dinner. Right now let's sit down and eat" said my mother. "Alright, but you don't have to bother Angel, l will go and talk to her" l said. And with that we sat down and eat our dinner. "Where is Samantha?" I asked. "I don't know, l think she left" said Sebastian. "Who cares about her, come on, forget about her" Angel said and we continued to eat. The dinner was quite lively today, normally everyone keeps quiet whenever my mom joins us for dinner . After the dinner, l went to look for Heaven. I found her sitting on the swing in Amora's garden. The garden is the most beautiful place in the palace. I went to stand in front of her. She looked at me with an unfathomable expression. "Why are you looking at me like that?" I said calmly. "I'm waiting for you to explain what happened back there. Because l know for certain that l am not your mate" she said calmly. We stared at each other for a while. "I want you to be my queen" l said plainly. "But l don't want to" she replied immediately. And that shocked me. "Why not?, You will have power and wealth. Why won't you want that?" l asked coldly. "I like myself the way l am, l am not interested in any of what you just said" , what she said made me laughed. "Everybody wants it" l said. "Not everybody desires the same thing" she insisted. This is really something, I sighed and sat beside her , "how about this, why don't you and l have a contract. If agree to be my queen, then once after l've found my mate, l will remove the mating curse on you". She looked at me surprised. "Don't be surprised that l know . I'm not the king for nothing. Listen l just need you to be, no, to pretend to be my queen for the time being. Just think about it, l am the only one who could remove that curse on you. If you become my queen, then once after l've found my mate, you will be able to find your mate. Don't you want to find your own soul mate someone that belongs to you only" l said, Although not everybody desires the same thing, it is every woman desire to have her own soul mate. And that is just what l needed to make her agree.
