Chapter 2; Lost in a strange land

As the realization dawned on him William was lost deep within his mind, he had no idea which universe he was in, he didn't know what had happened to his home world, what would become of his brothers and sisters still fighting within the war,

Although he had seen the same crystals like the one that set him free leave the battlefield, he wasn't certain these crystals had actually reached their targets in time. could he be the last of his kind alive, maybe he was the only one blasted astray because he was too close to the planetary explosion.

Maybe the Life entity always intended to send them all into this universe, if there were any of his world alive they would be on Galadoria's location within this universe and so he had a destination, he had to make his way to the planet Galadoria, if he was sent here then Galadoria must exist within this universe as well.

he faced the Phaelosian that had saved him and asked her whether she knew of any planet within this universe called Galadoria, kara looked at him strangely, this stranger was addressing her by a race she had never heard of before.

she told him that she was not Phaelosian, her race was Kryptonian and her name was Kara Zorell, William then said that her father must be named Zor Ell and Kara nodded in acceptance before asking him how he knew.

William tells her that she was named according to Phaelosian customs in his universe and her language was actually what the Phaelosians of his world spoke, he tells her that perhaps in this universe her race calls themselves Kryptonians but in his world, they were called Phaelosians.

Kara didn't argue with the guy, this wasn't her first encounter with multiversal beings, she knew first-hand just how much people can change within the vast expanse of the infinite multiverse. She then told him that she knew of Galadoria however she has never seen a Galadorian leave their home world let alone participate in a warlike him.

As she says this she motions to his combat uniform, Will looks down and finally transmutes the uniform into regular Galadorian garments that weren't as ravaged by war as his uniform had been.

However as he did that he suddenly doubled down with extreme exhaustion, the simple act of molecular transmutation had sapped more than half of his remaining power, it dawned on him that he was losing power faster than his body could absorb within this universe,

this scared him, as it would seem to mean that the life entity didn't exist within this universe, but if it didn't exist here then what would become of Galadoria, how would Galadorians exist within this universe without the life entity to sustain their lives,

He needed to get to Galadoria as fast as he possibly could, he then asked if he looked fine and she said that he looked just fine but he seemed extremely weak, this was contrary to the being she saw burst out of the bleed and vaporize bleed and neutralize bleed energy.

William says that his power doesn't regenerate at normal rates within this universe, it's like he is being rejected by it. he says that if his estimation is right the life core of Galadoria may be able to help him assimilate within this universe once more he just needs to get there.

Kara asks him what happened to him and he says that it's an extremely long story, She says that they will strike a deal, she will take him to Galadoria after making a stopover at her destination for a few days,

and in return, he will explain to her what led him to fall out of the bleed and why he keeps insisting she is Phaelosian, William says that he doesn't know whether his energy reserves will last a few days and should they encounter any accidents on their journey and he is forced to use his power then his power will drain even faster,

he then says that despite that he will agree to her conditions, Kara hears him and although she shows a look of worry at first, she reassures him that should they encounter anything on their journey she will handle it.

This statement made him look at her in a strange way, he says that perhaps the Kryptonians of this world were really different but although the Phaelosians were genetically superior in his world they weren't as powerful as Galadorians.

Kara smiles and tells him that in this world there should be very few races that can match a fully-fed Kryptonian but Galadorinans aren't one of them, for one thing, they cannot even survive in the vacuum of space, secondly, although they are long-lived, their lifespan is a speck in the life of a Kryptonian.

William is shocked by her information and he asks her to tell him all she knows about the Galadorians of this world, Kara smiles before telling him that they have a few days before reaching Kandor City. If his full story gets done before they arrive then she will tell him all she knows about his people.

it took them two days to reach Kandor city at around the same time Will finished his story about his life within his home world, as they arrived at Kandor Kara felt her strength and powers restricted greatly, this was because the shield surrounding Kandor city synthesized red sun radiation which was the original sun of Krypton.

as such the people here were practically as regular as can be with the slight exception that they can live for at least a few centuries of life, they have no special powers whatsoever, Kara's powers weren't completely stripped but they were suppressed, if she were to stay here for a few hours almost a day then all her powers will leave her system and she will become as normal as the rest.

the most shocking thing though was that within this red sun shield, William's energy depletion was slowed down tremendously, if he lost 2 percent of his power per day this time he lost 1 percent per day. it made him wonder who these Kryptonians actually were.

after seven days with them, he came to actually realize a few differences, although the Phaelosians were considered an intelligent species, their knowledge about the universe and scientific achievements were still slightly behind the Galadorians.

Kryptonians, on the other hand, seemed to be of the same level of technological advancement as the Galadorians of his world, he even felt a strange kinship with his people of old, however at the end of the seventh day he needed to resume his journey to Galadoria,

within these seven days Kara had told him a lot about Galadoria, the Galadorians of this world, although not so different were a stark contrast from the Galadorians of his world. For one thing, they were incredibly weak,

Galadorians in this universe still possessed the energy and matter manipulation abilities of his people, however, one couldn't possess both, after one awakened their affinity they would be separated into a system, people with Matter manipulation were more fit in manual labour and administrative positions, they were believed to be officers of the race

Meanwhile, the people with energy manipulation were more fit in law enforcement and were believed to be guardians of their world, each Galadorian guardian would be paired with an officer to help them in their daily activities, however, this wasn't seen as a way of undermining the other class, to them it was the natural way of life.

Apart from their classifications, Galadorians had no division among themselves, apart from the difference in their duties, Galadorians were treated equally regardless of how old or young or what they did.

this created a utopian community of commonality, because of this peace Galadorians do not need to leave their world. As a consequence of their extremely long lives, a Galadorian woman can only conceive a child once in her lifetime.

this period ranges from the moment she enters her maturity period to the end of her first millennium, a Galadorian reaches maturity at their 25th year of life, at that time their body has grown to full maturity and their ageing is frozen in that appearance for the longest part of their lives,

In this regard, the Galadorians of this world were no different from the galadorians of his world except their lifespans were different, in this universe a Galadorian can live from at least 2 to 5 millenniums at the end of which their lifespan runs out,

in his home world, an ordinary Galadorian could live for at least 5 millenniums with the longest-lived ever recorded living for nearly 100 millenniums, however before he left the life entity of his world had their genetic code altered thereby extending their lifespans, as a result now the most ordinary of Galadorians could live for at least ten thousand years and the limit of how long they could live was unknown yet.

the only thing that changes over the years is their temperament but galadorians will always look the same until their lifespans come to an end, after one's body stops regenerating the effect of time resumes operating on them, at that time a Galadorian can only live for at least a century and almost five centuries before they die.

But it seemed that that is where the similarities ended, this is because in addition to the division of responsibility that he didn't have in his home world, The Galadoria of this universe actually had a physical sun they orbited but strangely enough this was actually a neutron star.

as such the gravity on Galadoria was hundreds of times more than the standard gravity in the universe, because of this most Galadorians cannot fly with only energy manipulators capable of such feats,

this was much stronger than any Gravity William had ever faced, the average gravity of Galadoria in his world was to units the standard gravity of the universe. This gravity being hundreds of thousands of times more means there is a possibility he could be crushed by the gravity of that world.

Secondly, galadorians absorb quantum energy generated by their neutron star into their cells which allows them their capabilities which was something he currently couldn't do. But he still needed to travel back to Galadoria, as they were preparing to leave Kandor city and head to Galadoria the sensors of Kandor city actually sensed an oncoming threat.

this was the 20th time Kandor had sensed threats within the universe and were forced to move their city to a different location, Kara asks why this keeps happening and the scientists of Krypton find themselves confused as they couldn't come up with a solution.

Will tells them that the reason is that they have no star, he tells them that ninety percent of all life-sustaining planets in the universe were formed to orbit a star, the main reason of course is that the radiation given off by a star generated a field where life can thrive.

there is however a secondary reason and that is that that star generated an electromagnetic field around a specific region of space called its own star system, within this star system everything is affected by its gravitational pull.

As long as a strange object enters this field they are acted upon by this gravitational effect however free-flying objects in the universe normally have their own gravitational field so in most cases these fields repel each other making these space debris actually fly away from starfields.

When they created Kandor city it was artificial and as such it didn't resonate with the standard vibrational frequency of the universe, because of this Kandor can't generate its own gravitational field but rather its presence impacts the space it exists in.

This impact is actually like a pressure exerted on the converse of the universe, the effect it creates is that it draws all nearby free-moving universal objects to itself, the only solution is to either generate a star that Kandor could orbit or they could move Kandor city into the next star system they are welcomed to.

this realization shocks the citizens of Kandor as they wonder where they could go, Kara contemplates bringing them back to the solar system, although they couldn't all move to Earth, there were several moons within the starfield that could sustain life.

however, remembering the reaction of humans to the existence of the few Kryptonians they know of she couldn't imagine what would happen once they knew there was an entire race of them living within their star system.

just then another idea dawned on Kara, there was another option, back on Earth before she took her vacation there was news of a new star that had been discovered in the Milky Way, this new star was still unnamed however they wanted to send an exploration team,

Kara turned to William who really wanted to go home and asked whether he could wait a little, she revealed that she needed to fly her jet outside the atmosphere of Kandor to protect the city in their voyage to the new star system.

William thought about it for a second and then said that he may have a solution for them, he revealed that he could generate a stable wormhole to pull the city into the new star system however after he did so there was a high possibility he would lose all his powers instantly,

She asks him whether it would be a threat to his life and he says that he doesn't think so, he says that Galadorians draw their strength from the life force of the universe, and the absence of that energy means that his life force will be spent faster than before, however, he was just a child in Galadorian years,

he says that by the time of the conflict he had just entered the maturity period and he was ready to depart from the planet but then the war happened, he says that if he aggregates the time he took in the war and the possible time spent in the bleed, he is roughly 27 years old, with his lifespan reaching at least 10 thousand years, even after he loses his powers he will still have at least a millennium before his death,

but that was in regular times, in this new universe his power depletes ten times the regular pace meaning the time taken to drain his lifeforce would be equally sped up, he says that he believes after losing his powers he could live for at least one year and almost 100 years.

she is shocked to hear his comparison but before she can accept or deny his help, he levitates before her, leaving the atmosphere, she asks him how he will know the destination point and he says that he saw it in her mind.

she asks for how long he has been reading her mind, he tells her that he really couldn't read her mind as she says however he can access the psionic plane where mental power is born, he says that when an individual has a powerful memory or a sharp thought, this power radiates and at times he can be a receptor of that power.

he says that in their first days together he couldn't detect anything from her but shortly after entering this city her mind reached out just like the rest of the people here, he says that the important thing is he now knows where to take them and before she could object once again, his eyes glow brilliant white.

his battle uniform replaces his ordinary clothes as he radiates extremely intense energy fluctuations, these waves of power make even the city shield strain to keep up with him and he wasn't targeting it, doesn't it mean that should he want to he could single-handedly break this planetary level defence shield.

this made Kara wonder just how powerful this guy truly was in his past world if a depleted version of him was this powerful, one must know that even a fully fed Kryptonian would face some resistance against this kind of defence shield, although they would eventually break through it, it would delay them for a while.

as they watched he generated a blade of energy in his hands as long as a skyscraper and he utilized this blade to actually tear apart the fabric of space before him before he wrapped it into his power transforming it into a massive wormhole, the wormhole then moves forward shredding space along the way and swallowed Kandor city,

suddenly an intense pressure fell onto the city, this power was actually the universe itself rejecting this action and Wiliam was fighting against the universe with his strength

this was beyond anything any of them had seen, it didn't take them long before they came out of the other end of the wormhole, at this moment the power on his body was actually flickering like a burnt out lamp, however, he still withstood the effect and closed the wormhole, as space reformed and healed around him he suddenly stopped moving,

Kara rushed over to her ship and flew outside the city to find him fully unconscious, his usually crystalline silver-white hair had actually turned a dull shed of grey like it had lost its vitality, and his former bright skin now looked plain and dried.

he had lost his lustre and looked like someone on the verge of death, he wasn't lying when he said that his kind relied on life energy to survive however it was obvious he had underestimated how fast his power would be drained. he now looked like he was approaching 50 years old.
