CHAP 22: Reunion

I got up after patching Cutthroat's wounds, picking up Doctor and Olivia and putting them in Courier's bike, which i would take as mine now. I secured that they wouldn't fall off, and helped Cutthroat up, she sat behind me, and we drove off. The motorcycle had been modified in order to be capable of traversing any terrain, so i drove back to the elevator without any problem. I pushed the central button for it to go up, after some time, it arrived back at the surface and i started following the rocket, which had started coming down, driving through the debris was hard, but after we got out of the ruins there was nothing to stop us, since the surroundings of the Absolute Quarantine Zone were an vast, empty plain. The rocket was going very fast, but the bike was capable of following it, and the helicopters were as well. When it was getting close to the ground, an big parachute opened up and slowed down its fall, and it finally hit an big lake.

I knew the little girl would survive, so i focused on the Executioners. the helicopter had started landing close to the lake, and some of the Executioners jumped out of it, running to the lake in hopes of capturing Sister, i stopped the bike behind an rock, put my mask back on and ran with Cutthroat in order to ambush the fuckers. I asked for the white haired girl for an knife, and she lended me the stilleto once again, i loaded the Collector with magical bullets, i didn't mention it, but they don't make sound since they don't use explosions in order to propel themselves, i shot the six of them rapidly, hitting two in the head, two in the shoulder and two in the torso and we both ran at them, killing them rapidly, she cut 3 off their head of and i ended one of the ones i hit on the torso, they didn't manage to warn the others so we still had the advantage of surprise.

The chopper landed, and the Executioners got out, there were four pairs, my internal agent was among them. They started coming in our direction, so i and Cutthroat hid, but not before i took an light sword off one of the corpses and gave her stilleto back. When our enemies passed from where we hiding and saw the bodies of their comrades, i showed myself, shooting two of them in the head and signaling for my agent to turn back on them, to which she got her sword out and swung at the one she was paired with, killing him instantly, this made the other put their guards down, which gave an opening for me and the white haired girl to end the rest of them quickly

Killing Courier had given me 300 experience, if my theories about how much EXP i need to level up are right, there should be 1670 left for me reach level 7. Anyways, when all of them were dead, the internal agent ran and hugged me.

As i expected, an hormonal overload makes people crazy, not that the Executioners were sane in the first place, considering their line of work. I hugged the woman back, and took avantage of this to use {examine} on her.

[I'm not sure, it happened when Death turned you into an semi-Predecessor, it can either mean your luck is either too high or too little, or both at the same time.]

Hmm. that's interesting. I pushed the woman off me, but she simply wouldn't unglue from me, she was literally purring against my chest, so i simply let her stay there, i could kill her, but she could be useful.

"We need to go get the little girl, you know?"

She nodded and finally stopped hugging me, but still hugged my arm, which motivated Cutthroat to do the same in the other one. Most people would be happy to have an beautiful woman in each arm, but i think the situation i'm in is, in fact, very frightening, since i was surrounded by two psychopaths ready to stab anyone, one of them being the biggest criminal in the city and the other one being part of the police elite that is obsessed with order and killing criminals.

I simply continued in the direction of the rocket, and arrived at the lakeside. my clothes weren't made for swimming, so i took off my mask and got down to only underwear, the two women blushed seeing me almost naked, their reaction was so stereotypical of an anime i almost sighed, but i ignored my feelings and entered the lake. I swam to where the rocket had fallen, arriving there, i dove to the debris of the rocket, seeing the little girl perforated by some metal pieces and passed out for lack of oxygen, i pulled the metal off her and rapidly took her back to the shore in my back. When i arrived on land, i saw she was not breathing, so i made CPR, to which she coughed out the water and started inhaling as much air as she could, which made her cough some more, when she stopped coughing she looked at me as if i was an angel or something.
