CHAPTER 22: The CEO's fianceé (2)

Charlie's face becomes dark and he frowns; "you can come in with me, besides she won't be in my office for long".

"mm..what does he mean she won't be there for long" Eve thought.

Charlie enters the office; he sees Natasha sitting on one of the sofas in the office; he heads up to the section where his table and chair is and sits down not paying attention to Natasha who is becoming angry that she is being ignored.

Eve on the other hand is beginning to feel the tension in the office and is very nervous;

"Charlie we need to talk" said Natasha; "okay" said Charlie not facing her; "why are you ignoring me?" Natasha asked him folding her arms;

"We don't have anything to talk about so I don't see any reason for us to talk, isn't that right?" He asked this time facing Natasha; 

"I..Because we would eventually end up together whether you like it or not!" She shouted.

Charlie eyebrows ceased and he faces Natasha; "what did you say?" He asked;

Natasha smirks; "what you just heard; she pauses; "Charlie, our families know each other and you know that our type of people always marry each other unlike someone" she said eyeing Eve; 

"What are you trying to say?.." said Eve annoyed; but before she was able to complete what she want to say, Charlie interrupts her;

"What are you trying to do, Natasha?" Said Charlie with a face that is intimidating and Natasha was obviously scared but tries to hide it;

"I am saying that I know all this show you and this thing is putting up won't stop us from getting married" said Natasha pointing and eyeing Eve as if she is disgusting.

Charlie begins to frown; Eve begins to notice the temperature of the office begins to freeze; "is the air conditioner too high?" She thought;

"So you are saying that my relationship with my fianceé is fake? Charlie asked; "yes, I am sure you are faking it" said Natasha;

Charlie laughs; "why do you think I would fake my engagement?" He asked; 

"To avoid an arranged marriage and I don't see any ring on her finger" Natasha said while pointing at Eve's left hand.

Charlie laughs again and this time it was longer than the first one; "there is no ring because the proposal was impromptu, although I intend to buy her an engagement ring and our relationship is none of your business now leave my office" Charlie said gritting his teeth trying to hold back his anger;

"You are telling me to leave your office, Really?" Said Natasha surprised; she picks up her purse and turns to leave but was stopped by Charlie; "wait, on last thing don't you ever insult my fianceé again if you don't want to get on my bad side" Charlie said and faces the window while sitting on his swirling chair; Natasha fumes angrily, stares daggars at Eve and storms out of the office".
