Chapter forty three
(Cassandra's POV)
I wear my underwear and put on some deodorant before putting on a sundress and a pair of sandals.
I brush my hair and pack it into a neat bun, turning my neck left and right in front of the bathroom mirror, looking for any mistake.
Once I see none, I take a deep breath and hastily leave the room. I don't want to test my mother's patience.
I hear raised voices coming from the kitchen causing me to hasten my footsteps.
I step off the last stairs, walk past the sitting room before coming face to face with my mother chasing our guest with a laddle.
They are presently in a stalemate with Matthew on one part of the wooden counter and my mom on the other.
My mom moves left and he moves left as well. It's quite funny seeing a multi millionaire and CEO of his own company running around a counter while being chased by a woman with a laddle.
The thought causes me to burst into a fit of giggles.
