Oscar exited the boutique and flagged down a cab.
"Where to?" the taxi man asked.
His eyes unconsciously darted below to the shopping bags at Oscar's feets.
He couldn't help but draw in a deep breath.
"Palma lane, Boli street" Oscar gave his home address"
"That would be five dollars" the taxi man said in reminder.
"The faster you go, the more tips you earn" Oscar smiled calmly, causing the taxi man's eyes to lit up.
Oscar got in and the taxi man started the ignition.
Oscar couldn't help but check the system for his progress. In just a day, he already made a 208 centi points.
However, he had no idea what to do with these points.
-[You can use centi points to upgrade skills, items and draw the lottery] he heard that annoying voice in his head.
It belonged to the artifact spirit.
"You can speak in my head?" Oscar was amazed.
-[I am the Artifact spirit of the medallion. As the new host, we are capable of mental communication]
"Awesome. So, you said i can use centi points to buy skills?" Oscar tried clicking on the "SHOP" tab, but it kept showing
YOU HAVE NO SHOP PERMIT
-[You must get a shop permit to purchase things from the shop. You can only get a shop permit by drawing the lottery]
Oscar nodded in understanding, clicking on the 'LOTTERY TAB'
-[Lottery]
-You have 10 lottery spins
Like a another spin wheels in games, the lottery was circular. It had the below segments
Thanks for playing
Skill
Item
Centi point
Shop permit
Cultivation Resource
Feature unlocked (x limitless)
Oscar made his first spin. To his delight, the arrow landed on the 'SKILL' section.
-[You have recieved skill.. Car Driving]
"Not bad" Oscar wasn't disappointed.
He was optimistic he would gain more valuables after spinning again.
And so, with much faith and enthuiasm, he casted the second spin.
-[Thanks for playing]
. . .
-[Thanks for playing]
. . .
-[Thanks for playing]
. . .
"What the hell!" Oscar felt like vomiting blood.
He didn't expect that he got nothing even after exhausting the rest of the lottery spins.
As for the skill 'Car Driving' how was that even a skill!
He could just pay to learn how to drive a car in a friggin' driving school!
"This system is a pure scam! Argh!" if the system was a human, Oscar would surely punch it to death.
-[Spin again for 2 centi points]
Seeing the new notification, Drew tried to calm himself down. He still had 104 spins right?
There's no way he wouldn't get anything good.
-[Thanks for playing]
-[Thanks for playing]
-[Thanks for playing]
-[Thanks for playing]
. . .
Only after the tenth spin did the arrow fall on the a new section.
Cultivation Resources!
-[You have recieved potion.. Eros Semen]
Wtf! Oscar almost had the urge to vomit.
Whoever invented this system was crazy! to hell with this system!
Just as he wanted to shut the system, Hunks voice rang in his head.
-[I'd advise Host to check the descreption of item before thinking to discard it]
"What's the point. Whoever created this system is a bonafide pervert!" Oscar claimed self righteously.
-[You speak like as if you are a saint] Hunks remarked, his tone laced with mockeqy.
"What do you mean?" Oscar frowned.
-[Do you think i don't know about those time when you watch those licentious videos?]
"Hey! how dare you peep at my memories!" Oscar shrieked in fright.
The righteous facade he tried building completely crumbled.
-[We are in a state of symbiosis. Naturally, i can acess your memories and thoughts]
"That's invasion of privacy!" Oscar whined.
Yep! whoever created this system was an award winning pervert with no equal!
-[Quit whining and check on the item]
Oscar grumbled to himself as he checked the info of the rewarded item he got after drawing the lottery.
-[ITEM INFO]
- Eros is regarded as the god of vitality in Dragonslav mythology. The semen of Eros is a cheap imitation of the real semen of Eros
- By ingesting a drop, a man at the brink of death can fully recover
Oscar was shocked when he read the info. Apart from the strange name, he had to admit that the item was good stuff.
A bottle, the size of a grown man's thumbs appeared on his palm. Inside it was a floating white liquid. Oscar stowed it into the system inventory.
Now motivated, he attempted to continue his lottery spins. However, he noticed that the car had suddenly stopped.
"We have arrived at your location" the cab man announced.
"Oh" Oscar hummed.
He was too busy drawing the lottery that he lost the essence of time.
Just as he wanted to alight, he suddenly remembered that he could only make payment through the Centi Card.
-[On it] Hunks seemed to have read his mind.
-[Linking the Centi Card to Host Bank Account.. INITIALIZING ACTION.. IN PROGRESS..]
"Sir, i said we've arrived at your destination" the taxi man repeated after noticing the customer wasn't making an attempt to leave..
"Uhm, give me a moment. The seatbelt is stuck" Oscar lied.
"You need a hand?"
"No no. It's okay"
-[PING! Centi Card has been sucessfully linked to Host Bank Account]
Oscar sighed in relief. He alighted down and transferred hundred bucks to the driver, using his outdated nokia phone.
Seeing the credit alert, the taxi man showered him with endless thanks before happily driving off.
Oscar smiled when he saw just how happy the taxi man was. He couldn't help but recall those times when fattie Cargo would defend him from bullies and gift him some cash.
"I'll treat him to a sumptous meal when i return to campus" he made a mental note.
Boli street was a ghetto area across Palma lane. It was once budgeted to be a staff quarter for a big company. However, the contractor duped the company of their money, travelling out of the country.
A huge majority of the papartments were worn down. The smell of the gutters was quite disturbing to stomach.
Oscar arrived at his apartment which was at the end of the street.
But to his greatest surprise, he saw many of his stuffs leaning against the door post.
"Huh?" just when Oscar was confused as at what was happening, he saw a black sedan drive by, stopping before him.
Henry came out, following behind him was an old man who had a fawning smile.
"What are you doing here?" Oscar felt like rushing over to Henry and giving him a good beating.
But he held himself back since the latter would use it as an excuse to throw him inside jail.
"Landlord Brock, do you know this guy?" he turned towards the old man behind Henry.
He was the landlord of his apartment.
"Yes. Young master Henry bought this house for one million dollars. Here is your quit notice" Landlord Brock threw a paper slip at Oscar's feets.
Reading the contents of the 'quit notice' he immediately lost it.
"Is this a joke or what? My rent has not expired yet! i still have two more months!"
"Hmph. If i say it has expired then it has" Henry sniggered.
"You.. just why are you hell bent on making life miserable for me huh? You already have Laura, why do you still keep on picking on me huh?"
"Because i enjoy it. C'mon start packing up before i have someone help you do so. Oh? and what!s up with those shopping bags? Don't tell me you've already become someone's servant boy?" Henry laughed mockingly.
"Since you want me to leave, i would. But i promise you that one day, you'll regret ever offending me!" Oscar said with so much conviction.
"Heh. What can a lousy piece of trash like you possibly do?" too bad Henry didn't take his words seriously.
