Chapter 003

"Sir! what phone do you want?!"

"Patronize me! i'll give you a discount!"

Being grabbed by beauties sure was a good thing. Oscar smacked his lips in satisfaction as he relished on the rare moment.

"Would you girls quit acting so uncivilized? what if you scare the customer away"

A voluptuous lady wdaring a body con red dress that exposed her curves made her way over.

Instantly, Oscar's gaze fell on those deep cleavages that could make an innocent man experience a series of nose-bleeds.

"Miss. Loveth!" the three female staffs jumped in fright, distancing themselves from Oscar.

"Hi. I am Loveth, the manager of this phone shop. Are you here to buy? swap or repair?" Loveth questioned with much professionalism.

"I want to buy"

Loveth brought out a catalogue and gave it to Oscar. After skimming through it for a bit, the latter made his choice.

"The iphone 14 pro costs two thousand bucks. Do you want to pay via cash or card?"

"Card"

A female staff brought a POS machine. Oscar slid in the black debit card and typed his normal bank pin, while praying that the incident at the Hospital was not a fluke.

Ping!

Transaction Successful!

-[You have received +2 Centi points]

Oscar sighed in relief. At the same time, he was disappointed. He didn't get any mission reward. It seemed like he had to spend one thousand bucks to get a single centi point.

Loveth had one of the female staffs wrap up the iphone and reciept.

"Thanks for patronising" she smiled warmly, handing the package over to the customer.

"My pleasure"

Oscar took the package and attempted to leave. But shortly after, he returned.

"Did you forget something?" Loveth inquired.

"Yup. I forgot to take your digits!"

* * *

Oscar exited the phone shop, a satisfied grin on his lips. He had never felt so fufiled in his life.

Due to his poor background, no girl wanted to date him, well excluding the materialistic Laura.

At nights, he would browse through the internet for cool pick-up lines.

Too bad no girl gave him the chance to say them.

But now he was rich! He could chase after any girl he wanted without any scruples!

He touched the pendant on his neck, offering it a silent prayer of thanks.

Darylingtinzz was a famous pizzarie in West View. They had various assortment of pizzas, chips and sauces.

However, not everyone could dine inside. Atleast, you needed to have a budget above five hundred bucks to afford even the cheapest stuffs on the menu.

To the Oscar of the past, such a place was a dreamland. He had been saving his salary to have lunch with Laura on her birthday before the break up incident.

Well, it's her loss!

Oscar strolled towards the restaurant. However, the two burly bouncers stationed at the entrance blocked his path.

"What are you doing?" Oscar frowned.

The bouncer at the left pointed to his side.

There was a signboard that read..

NO BEGGARS OR HOMELESS FOLKS ALLOWED. THIS IS A NEW POLICY ADOPTED TO MAINTAIN THE SAFETY OF CUSTOMERS AND PROPERTIES.

The bouncers snickered in their hearts, thinking that 'the beggar' would read the situation and leave.

However, their expectations were contrary to reality.

"Move" Oscar said, flairing his hands.

"Can't you read? the signboard says that no beggars or homeless peeps allowed" the bouncer at the right frowned, thinking that he was up against an uneducated local.

"So? what does that have to do with me?"

"Are you seeking trouble. You are not wanted here!" the bouncer at the left barked.

"Why? do we have a grudge or something? i just came here to eat! is this how you people treat customers?"

"You? a customer? why don't you take a good look at yourself in the mirrior" the bouncers gwaffed

Oscar sized himself up. Indeed, what he wore was quite embarrasing.

The collar of the shirt was slackened and it's color faded. The pants he wore had more than five patches.

"You think i can't afford a meal here?" Oscar finally realized the meaning of the bouncers attitude.

They thought he was a freeloading beggar.

"Isn't it obvious?" the bouncer at the left replied contemptuously.

Oscar nodded curtly.

"You both are going to regret ever messing with me" saying this word, he turned around and left.

The bouncers chuckled contemptuously when they saw his retreating figure.

"Hmph. I am sure he was just here to cool off with the restaurant's air conditioner"

"Yeah. Right"

After being chased out of the restaurant, Oscar learnt his lesson. A good outward appearance makes a man.

He decided to head over to the boutique and change his clothes. He now had a lot of money. It wouldn't look too good for him to keep on wearing rags.

Oscar arrived at Mega clothing store. It was one of the famous boutiques in Chandler line.

Noticing the sweating Oscar approaching the boutique, the security guard stationed at the entrance frowned in displeasure.

However, he didn't chase him out.

The boutique was filled with customers so Oscar's arrival didn't attract much attention.

Heading to the male section, he began shopping to his heart content.

Denim jackets. Joggers. Hoodies. Labeled shirts, etc.

Oscar was so lost into his excited buying spree that he managed to fill up six shopping bags.

Finally, his actions began to attract attention.

"Who's that guy? he doesn't even tests the clothes before picking them up!"

"He must be a young richie"

"Are you an idiot? how can someone from the slums possibly afford these clothes? my guess is that he's intentionally looking for trouble"

Oscar ignored the criticism. All his life, he had always been insulted for being poor. As such, he managed to develop a thick skin for insults.

Placing the shopping bags in a trolley, he attempted to take over for an appraisal.

Many followed from behind him. They couldn't wait for him to make a fool out of himself.

When Oscar arrived at the cashier counter, the female cashier gave him an inquisitive look.

"Is something on my face?" Oscar grinned and sighed.

"Honestly, it's quite difficult to be handsome. Girls would just keep on getting attracted to me. I just can't help it"

Everyone was gobsmacked at Oscar's narcissist remarks.

Bro! don't think too much about yourself. You are slightly more good looking than a pig!

Afraid that Oscar would keep on boasting if she continued looking, the cashier did her job.

Two minutes later, she summed up everything.

"Two hundred thousand"

"Eh?" Oscar was momentarily stunned.

However, he was quick to get a hold of himself.

"I was just shocked that your stuffs are way cheaper than i expected. When i was at the country's capital, i bought a fashion shirt for half a million"

Meanwhile, Oscar was cussing the boutique for selling costly clothes. Didn't they have human conscience or something?

Whipping out the black card, Oscar made the payment.

Transaction Successful!

-[You have received +200 centi points]

-[You have completed daily mission; Spend a minimum of 50 thousand bucks]

Instantly, the cashier became more respectful. As for the on lookers waiting for Oscar to make a fool of himself, they went completely tongue tied.

The cashier personally wrapped up the clothes and offered to walk Oscar out.

After they left, an elderly customer laughed bitterly.

"I heard that those powerful families usually go to the secular world to gather experience, living as paupers. Today has really been an eye opener for me"
