Chapter 7

"Enter the village!"

The lone wolf rose to his feet and signaled his men to follow him towards the sunset village.

The lone wolves were seething with anger after Basang and his comrades were brutally beaten to death.

As they entered the village, Lin Wuya had just regained consciousness.

As he stepped out of his room, an old woman who was busy working in the kitchen greeted him. She wiped her apron and said, "Oh, sir! You're awake!"

"Yes, I just woke up," Lin Wuya replied with a smile.

"I'll bring you some water to wash up," the old woman offered kindly.

She fetched a shabby, yet clean washbasin and a pot of hot water to help Lin Wuya clean up.

Once he was refreshed, the old woman served him a large bowl of porridge from the stove, along with several plates of pickles, and two hard-boiled eggs fished out of the pot!

"My family is relatively poor, and we don't have much to entertain you, sir. I hope you don't mind," the old woman said to Lin Wuya.

"It's good to have rice, vegetables, and eggs," Lin Wuya replied with a smile.

During the meal, the village head asked Lin Wuya, "I don't know where you're from, sir, or where you're headed on this journey?"

"I'm from a faraway place, and as for my destination, I'm not sure yet. However, one of my disciples will be picking me up today, and I'll be heading to his place next," Lin Wuya explained openly.

The village head and his wife were simple people, and Lin Wuya's straightforwardness did not go unnoticed.

"That's not a secret, and it's okay for me to tell you," Lin Wuya responded.

"Since he's your disciple, he must be a very powerful person!" the village chief exclaimed with a smile.

Having witnessed Lin Wuya's methods for suppressing the pirates during the day, the village chief had never seen such power before. Therefore, he concluded that Lin Wuya's apprentice must also be very powerful.

"I'm not sure. I haven't seen them in many years," Lin Wuya replied with a smile. Since his disciples had left the mountain, Lin Wuya had not been in contact with them. Thus, he really did not know how powerful they were now.

"I see," the village chief nodded thoughtfully.

Just then, a villager rushed into the village chief's house, panting heavily. "It's not good! Village chief, another pirate has entered the village!"

"What?" the village chief exclaimed as he stood up abruptly. The pirates had been rebuked just the day before, and yet they had returned so soon?

"Sir, you must help us!" the village chief implored Lin Wuya. He knew that they had to rely on the old man to resist the pirates.

"Don't worry, I'm here," Lin Wuya reassured the village chief. He smiled in relief, set down his bowl and chopsticks, and rose from his seat.

"Where are the pirates?" he asked the villager.

"They just entered the village. They should be at the entrance now," the villager responded.

"Lead the way," Lin Wuya instructed the villager.

Under the villager's guidance, Lin Wuya arrived at the entrance of the village and immediately saw the group of pirates that the villager had mentioned.

There were more pirates this time, numbering about thirty to forty, and the villagers who had gathered at the entrance of the village were holding hoes and rolling pins. They looked at the pirates with fear until Lin Wuya arrived.

"Sir!" the villagers exclaimed with hope in their eyes. They had not backed down because of Lin Wuya's presence. They believed that as long as he was there, everything would be resolved, even if the pirates appeared stronger than the ones from the day before.

Lin Wuya sensed the villagers' thoughts and smiled reassuringly. "Leave it to me," he said.

After speaking, he stepped forward and scanned the group of pirates. Although he had never seen them before, Lin Wuya recognized them by their markings. They were members of the Evil Wolf Pirate Group and the companions of the pirates who had raided the village the previous day.

However, these pirates did not seem to care about Lin Wuya and regarded him as an ordinary old man.

The leader, Lone Wolf, rose to his feet with a long sword in his hand and pointed at the beaten Basang and his companions on the ground. He asked coldly, "Who killed them?"

Upon hearing this, the villagers who had stood up to the pirates the day before suddenly looked afraid. They had killed these men, but they were too scared to take responsibility. They knew that if the pirates found out, they would never let them go.

"I did," Lin Wuya spoke up at this moment.

"You?" the lone wolf sneered as he glanced at Lin Wuya. "Do you have the ability to do that?" he asked.

An old man like him, capable of killing Basang? The idea seemed laughable.

"What, don't I look like it?" Lin Wuya asked with a smile on his face.

"Get lost, old man! Don't interfere with me," the lone wolf snarled as he walked towards Lin Wuya. He lifted his foot and kicked at him.

However, before he could make contact, a tremendous gravitational force suddenly descended upon him, and he was sent flying like a cannonball, crashing onto the ground with a deafening boom.

The ground trembled from the impact.

"What?" The lone wolf groaned in pain as he realized that his ribs were broken. However, the shock he felt from the massive force that had hit him was even greater.

"How could there be such a tremendous pressure?"

"What is this?" the lone wolf asked as he tried to get up. However, no matter how he struggled, he couldn't move. He felt as heavy as a boulder.

Lin Wuya knelt down and gazed at the lone wolf. He smiled and asked, "Do I look like someone capable now?"

"You did this?" the lone wolf asked as he lifted his head with difficulty.

"Yes, I did," Lin Wuya confirmed with a nod. He then smiled and said, "Do you believe me now?"

"Old man!" the lone wolf growled. He then turned to his subordinates and ordered, "Get him! Kill this old man!"
