1 Chapter 1: A Strange Cube

One afternoon on a Friday after school, there was a girl named Akane, she was 12 years old and walking next to her was her little brother, Akito. He was about 9 years old. They were walking in the woods behind their house like they always do on Fridays after school. As they were walking they saw a new pathway they have never seen before. So Akito said "let's check out this path, it could lead somewhere new, somewhere fun." Akane was hesitant, but agreed to go.

As they walked the path, they noticed the forest around them was changing. The trees were changing colors, there were animals that they had never seen or heard of before, and the sky turned to a dark yellow color, as if the sun was going down or something. Akito then asked "is the sun already going down?" Akane then replied "it can't be it's only like 4pm." They both looked at each other, then looked at the sky, then looked at each other again. They were both very confused at what was happening around them. As they continued walking, the path got smaller and smaller, till it just ended. at the end of the path there was a weird looking cube. Akito said "let's go see what it is." Akane wasn't so sure. she thought maybe it could be dangerous and they should just head back home before anything happens. But Akito didn't listen. He walked right up to the cube and poked it. The cube didn't move. So Akito tried to pick it up. He looked at it and it seemed like it was just an ordinary box, exempt there was no opening or any creases at all. So he placed the box back on the ground and turned around and started walking back to his sister. Akane was frozen in fear, thing that something could of happened. As Akito was walking back to his sister he said "see nothing happened, were fi-" Akane Screamed and said "look the box, it disappeared!" Akito looked, then looked back at Akane, then said "well that's creepy, let's quickly head back home." So they both hurried and decided to go back home for today.

Once they got home Akito said "why don't we play a board game to try and take our minds off of what just happened." "Sure, why not" said Akane. As they were playing the game, Akane suddenly saw the box floating behind her brother. She Screamed. Her mother ran in and he brother asked "what is it? What happened?" Akane said "it's behind you." Akito turned around and screamed. Their mother then asked "what are you two yelling at? There's nothing there! Don't play jokes like this, it isn't funny" Akane and Akito looked at each other. "Mother couldn't see it, what do we do?" Said Akane. As they were staring at the box that was just floating around them and that their mom couldn't see it, they were both scared and confused.

They both just stood up and ran upstairs to Akane's Room. "It appears that it hasn't followed us. I think were safe." Said Akito. "Do you want to sleep in my room tonight? Just to be safe" said Akane.

Later that night after dinner, Akane and Akito did a lap around their house to see if the box was there, they couldn't see it. So they went back up to Akane's room and went to sleep. As Akane was trying to fall asleep, she couldn't stop thinking "why was there suddenly a new path in that forest that we have gone through thousands of times? Why did we go down that path? Why did the box appear? Why did it follow us home? was it because Akito touched it?

Then the next morning as they both started to slowly wake up, it appeared. the box was floating above them. they both laid there confused. Akane said " isn't it slightly bigger and its also got a little bit of blue on it. It wasn't that blue color yesterday, was it?" No, it wasn't" said Akito. Akane reached out her hand trying to touch it, but just before she was able to touch it, it disappeared again. "It did it again! It vanished" said Akito.
