Lisa, I still love you.

... I stood up and began to walk towards the door. I stopped as I heard his voice. Quietly but audibly, he asked 'how can I trust you'.

I grunted for a second before answering; ' you don't. But then, unlike you, my loyalty is as good as my words.

Slowly I walked away while laughing and making sure he heard my sounds of joy loud and clear.

I knew he was going to come, I mean who wouldn't. It was an open bait, he was fresh for a kill. The human mind always seek revenge for little things, far as it can be granted, they would surely take the offer up. Besides Marko had power, influence and the number one thing that moves the world around, money. But then knowledge, no information really is stronger than money if used wisely.

Marko was going to show up at the station, not immediately cause he has to prepare his goons as a form of backup, that's if the cop fails in their job to capture or eliminate me or they do not listen to him and tries to take him in. Of course he was going crazy, and not brain dead. He knows that on paper he's a fucking wanted man, just like me and if he was to go anywhere near the police station and those guys were aware of him been around, they would definitely come after him. it wasn't like he owned the whole goddamn station. he only bought those he could or who's prices he could afford.

Man wasn't yet the Pablo Escobar of our time, because even spreading one's influence take time, just like fishing with a hook and line. Thus the need to ensure you have insurance before entering the hyenas den was a must. This was one of the reasons I escaped from the scene after Marko shit me in the eye and gunned Annie down. I had no insurance and the more I stayed there, the more the door of revenge kept on closing. The voice in my head kept saying 'run to fight another day' but I knew it was 'run to end the coming days'. You know what happened next then. But later on, I filled a complaint to a detective using my real name on why the case of a young female child murder had gone cold. I confessed that the dead child in question was my daughter and wanted the killers to be brought to book.

To conclude the story, I was told there wasn't sufficient evidences and when I promised to bring some with substantial proofs backing it, I got asked if I was batman or The Robin, I mean what the fuck!. Later on, I was invited for a ' brief discussion ' so they say since I was pressing on the matter daily and they weren't interested on solving the case and bringing the culprit to book. Finally, when I spoke to someone who seemed to be in charge, he requested I turned myself in and then they would see what they could do.

So I do what is been usually done, bribed one of the cops, drained a lot of grand to get the information from him. Found out that it was a crime and drug lord who paid for the case to be closed. Got words from the streets from reliable Intel that Marko was the one who ordered the shooting. In that aspect I was lucky that one of his lackeys spilled the words from his mouth after getting drunk all through the night; man didn't live to see the morrow. For the right amount, I got that information. Well, I knew it was time to end this, time to leave this world. Thinking about it, I thought I should spend sometime with Lisa since I paid for her new office opposite the station. I mean I would love for her to watch the show, while the station burned. .....

"I knew it. Thanks for the office though". She said to him, her voice, filled with gratitude.

"Would you feel closure after you are done with Marko and the cops ?" She softly asked.

"mhm" he grunted loudly, making his chest to vibrate in the process, which in turn made Lisa to chuckle.

"I won't. No need to say maybe. I mean killing Marko or not killing him, neither would bring Annie back to life. But then, it's the thought of that bastard enjoying his family companion and having a good life that irks me off. No way a man would destroy my life and get to walk away with it".

"Alright" she whispered close to his ears.

The office became silent once again. He knew for sure that they had both spent more than thirty minutes together. He still had a bit of time to spare before heading down to the station, so he decided to relax and ask some questions.

"Are you happy Lisa ?".

She tilted her head upwards and stared at him.

"Happiness is of the soul and not the body".

"My body may be glad for this moment, glad for getting a new office and having a fresh start in my life. But my soul, ..it still yearns for what it had lost. Though a futile effort and a wishful thinking, nothing ever remains the same after ones soul has been hurt".

"Hmm, deep". Otis nodded his head, acknowledging her words.

Gently, he caressed her head lovingly until she snuggled into him deeper than before. Then he carefully traced two fingers across her neck, gently but provocatively stirring up her touch senses, she wiggled and purred softly, loving the touch.

"The chocolate...the children...they are still alive.." she whispered.

Of a sudden his fingers stopped and dugged deep. Her mouth opened slightly but no words came out, as her limbs gently gave out and her eyelids closed shut. He stared at her pretty face as he listened to her soft calm breathing.

Gently, he laid her on the couch and walked towards her desk. Grabbing out a notebook and a pen, he tore out a piece and gently wrote some notes down.

'Dear Lisa, by the time you read this note, I will be long gone. Gone not from your office.....but from this world. I would be with our daughter, we will be spectating your life and smiling behind the curtain, so please do not rush to join us. So do take your time and enjoy the new life and fresh start that you now have. I couldn't do it, I couldn't live on, so for her sake, please live your best life.

And yeah, sadly what I did might be cruel but Jessica isn't dead yet, same with the children, they are all still alive, it wasn't a poison to kill, just a poison for lesson. The butler requests to take care of them in the case of Jessica death, so they would have a good life, far as they do not ask many questions about their past and Jessica let's bygones be bygones. Not to forget that taking care of them works in both ways. Not that it matters though, cause I will be dead very soon. But hey pretty woman, enjoy!.'

A number of spaces were skipped before the writing continued.

'You remember how we always communicated in secret, that the more you look, the less you see. I would certainly miss that'.
