Shopping Trip (1)

Auralia stared at Mrs. Davidson wondering if she had perhaps misheard. But the serious look in the older woman's blue eyes quickly killed that thought.

"Um…I think the clothes here will be enough…" Auralia winced a little.

While she enjoyed the whole experience, she didn't think she could last the whole day shopping. Her wallet would probably also be crying at the end of the whole trip.

"Nonsense." Mrs. Davidson waved a hand and laughed. "A girl's got to have a decent wardrobe if she wants to get anywhere."

"Mrs. Davidson is right, Auralia." Lisa piped in. "While I'm flattered that you think my humble clothing is enough for you, a girl does need proper shoes, ball gowns, causal clothing and jewellery. Besides, I'm more of a personal designer. I help people find their style of clothing."

"Yip, Lisa and I are a makeover team." Greg added.

Auralia sighed, realizing she was going to get nowhere arguing with the trio. "Alright I get it."

"Good." Mrs. Davidson clapped her hands together. "I'm so excited to be finally going on a shopping trip with my granddaughter."

Auralia let out a small smile as she watched the older woman. She was definitely a brilliant actress, keeping up the whole charade. It made Auralia wonder if Mrs. Davidson had ever been an actress when she was younger.

She certainly had the talent for it…

"There all done." Greg suddenly said, pulling Auralia out of her thoughts.

She looked down to see that her nails were done. In fact, they looked elegant and much more feminine than the plain, short cut nails she normally had. They were still short but the nail polish and butterfly designs made up for it.

"They're perfect. Thank you." Auralia said joyfully as she raised her hands up to look at her nails.

"You're welcome darling." Greg smiled as he cleaned up the workspace. "They should be dry by now so why don't you go change."

Auralia got up from her seat and nodded her head. She then grabbed the clothes and turned to look for a changing room, Lisa seeing what she was doing.

"It's in the back dear." Lisa pointed to a small wooden door in the back corner.

Auralia thanked the older woman with a nod and walked over to the door. Opening she stepped into a tiny room with a bench, rack for hanging clothes and ceiling to floor mirrors on all three sides of the room.

She quickly hung the clothes on the rack and locked the door behind her. She then changed out of her clothes and into the ones Lisa had picked out for her.

Once she had placed the purple, off the shoulder blouse and black leggings, she put on the black sneakers and stood straight, looking into one of the mirrors.

She was surprised my how good the clothing looked on her. She wasn't a small girl and had an athletic build but for some reason the clothes were able to show her feminine side. She loved the look and was even happier to note that the clothing was comfortable and easy to move in.

Definitely something a bodyguard wife would need…

Auralia found herself smirking at the last thought. She was really becoming the high society wife material, now being able to hide her skills with some clothing and makeup.

Shaking her head, she grabbed her other clothing and swiftly unlocked the door, heading back outside. As she stepped into the room, she heard a grasp.

She turned to the sound seeing Mrs. Davidson had a hand clashed over her mouth. Lisa, who was standing besides her, meanwhile smiled brightly.

"You look stunning dear." Lisa clapped her hands together, pleased with her work.

"Thank you. You've done a really great job." Auralia blushed a little, looking down at her clothes. "What do you think, Grandmother?"

"Lisa has really outdone herself." Mrs. Davidson murmured as she got up. "You look really beautiful…"

Auralia smiled brightly at the older woman, a feeling of bonding growing between the two women.

***

After leaving the small boutique, the two made their way downtown to one of the famous shopping centres in the city. Auralia had never been to it and was a little excited to see the mall, it having been newly built.

All the ravings about it turned out to be true as Auralia and Mrs. Davidson sent the next few hours going through different clothing and shoe stores. The driver had to come a few times to pick up shopping bags, Mrs. Davidson not wanting to walk around with so many of them.

As 2pm approached, Mrs. Davidson decided to take a little break from all the shopping, wanting to grab some lunch. Auralia agreed, her stomach nearly growling in agreement. Thus, the two made their way to one of the fancier restaurants in the mall.

When they were seated by the balcony with a view of the city, a waiter handed Auralia and Mrs. Davidson a menu before leaving.

Auralia opened the menu and upon looking at the prices of the food items, she nearly had a heart attack. Some of the prices were enough to cover her water bill for the dojo. Others even her rent.

"Is something wrong, Auralia?" Mrs. Davidson suddenly ask, giving her a curious look.

"Oh, it's nothing…" Auralia laughed nervously, trying to hide her shock. "There's just so many good options here…haha…."

Mrs. Davidson smiled warmly at her. "Well, if you can't decide then I'd recommend the steak. It's quite good."

Auralia smiled thinking, it may be great but not for my wallet.

She had already lost half her savings into the clothes, not wanting Mrs. Davidson to pay for everything. She knew her salary from the bodyguard gig would more than make up for the lost, but it didn't make the lost any better.

"And don't worry about the prices. This is my treat." Mrs. Davidson smiled, almost as if sensing Auralia's concern.

However, before Auralia could respond to Mrs. Davidson a voice suddenly called out.

"My, my. Mrs. Davidson who is this?"
