chapter 3: gathering information & meeting the Rebellion

Virgil looked around I've been the guard who was a fledgling was still staring at him jack began to walk towards him he was left behind by his friends so if he really need to he could just kidnap this one guard for food after all he didn't have qualms feeding on other vampires the young fledgling just stared at Virgil as he approached virtual had a smile on face and spoke

"Well Young mind telling me what's been going on since I've last walked this Earth?"

The young vampire Galt and apparently I was wrong as another vampire in the same uniform came from behind him she definitely was older I could see it in her eyes and her right eye was not human anymore she spoke.

"I'll be glad to help you old fella this is my student he was 17 when I saw him and he's only been a vampire for about a few days"

I looked at her smiling as I reach my hand out my right to be pacific she looked down and her face went pale she looked back up to me and greeted my hand with hers she spoke.

"W-wow you must be powerful that happened to your arm may I ask your name?"

After she released my hand I scratched the side of my face and I shrugged and responded to her

"The names Virgil and yeah I would be considered in the hierarchy back when I was awake to be an 'ancient blood' I did sleep for about 250 years."

An ancient blood was a vampire with the entire limb that has lost their human appearance for me. it was my right arm but she seemed to bow before me I guess my brother did install this type of hierarchy in these newer generations of vampires.

"Don't bow before me just give me the information I desire."

She nodded she seemed a bit more pale still but she did give up the information

"Well since the high emperor Dante took over and brought in the age of vampires in as well enslaved humanity and using them as walking blood bags for us vampires."

I noticed the two fledglings were hiding around the corner trying to stay out of her line of sight but as I expected this young vampire in front of me I know that she seems extremely interested in my arm as well as her right eye has also lost its human appearance.

"No I have a question for you is there still that rule about you have to be 50 years old to steyer anyone around or the newborns able to turn people now?"

She shook her head vigorously

"No that's rule still around which I am happy will be out of humans to drink from if newborns could sire people and were allowed"

I replied jokingly and even to this complete stranger it did sound like a joke

"We could always just commit cannibalism"

We both began to laugh if there was one thing I knew that would never change even after 150 years and that was vampiric humor. her student looked horrified at my answer and when both me and his sire looked at him we'd both to start laughing even more.

"Don't worry newborn it's vampiric humor. so you don't have to worry anything from this old vampire"

He taps on his chest to indicate he's referring to himself his fangs retracted a bit as then he spoke up once again

"Well I'm glad not all the rules have changed since I last walked this Earth it would be extremely annoying trying to figure out and get used to it all new rules."

She smiled and nodded at me as then she would indicate to my arm

"So got any new unique abilities from your arm?"

I smiled as I would point to a homeless person a spectral arm would extend and grab them within seconds and pulled them to my actual hand the looks of the two vampires and the two newborns that I took it under my wing I seem to sparkle

"Yeah also a little interesting tidbit about this spectral arm it has my physical strength but it's multiplied by five times meaning I could really mess someone up if I really want to could definitely kill a newborn within second."

I would then go immediately to drink blood from the homeless that was now within my grip to be perfectly honest I was extremely hungry still. I could control it now but more blood could never hurt especially since the interesting fact about the Kings blood and the Queen's blood that is you will never frenzy and become a lost. I smiled after I was finished Conjuring the Spectral armor and use my more human-like hand to points of it.

" well I can do this haven't gone to properly assess its range yet since I woke up from my slumber. But I definitely am a lot stronger than most even vampires who last for about 200 years tho I am curious about you."

Virgil smiles a bit as she actually seemed to blush which for humans it was typically a pinkish color. For vampires it was a light blue but have a slight pink to it. I still haven't heard from moment newborn Protege cough to break the silence. She then smoke up.

" well you are quite straightforward. I wouldn't mind talking with you but I have Patrol Duty so maybe later."

She said as she was still a bit blushing. Virgil nodded as he waved her goodbye. the girl was first to walk away her Protege stayed behind for a few moments staring at Virgil as he would start the follow her. Virgil was smiling as he figured her Protege had a thing for her. The two idiots that were under his wing came out from the Shadows staring and we're surprised that how Virgil handled the situation the small man spoke up first. Virgil didn't realize it at first but the small man had an Irish accent.

"well that was a fucken sight to see. Damn you had her in your Palms of hands. I'm might start taking note."

Virgil started laughing hearing with a small man said then he heard the girl spoke up.

" I don't get how you can be talkin so freezing comfortable around them. I would be a gibbering mess."

Virgil laughed a bit as he tapped on his head With a big smile.

" it's because I've been around for a long time and I know how vampires Act. It's one of the main reasons why a newborn couldn't sire. Cuz by the time I was 50 I had to learn how to act like a vampire or how we are expected to act. Anytime after that you start learning the humor and how to talk around other vampires comfortably who are older than you or just as old. Now start leading the way you too before I start my continue feeding."

Both of them shut up immediately began leading the way as I followed them I smiled as they were quite scared. They did not want to see what happens if I had a full day of eating. Since all three of us were vampires it didn't take very long for us to get there with our enhanced speed they walk down the stairs would seem to be heading into a Subway. Virgil was familiar with these things though he absolutely hated them too much noise. For him anyway he followed down as he didn't hear the ringing of the tracks when a subway car would go through or was getting close to a Pacific docking area. The two jumped on the tracks and began running Virgil following very close behind they ran for about 30 minutes before they came to a large abandoned Subway Depot which seems been turned into a hideout. There are many humans and vampires there. Some had weapons some didn't there are children there as well as everyone seemed to notice the two have returned they all cheered but seeing me right behind them they all seems ready for a fight then the short man spoke up.

" he's with us don't worry lads."

This seemed to calm them down but also seems to make them even more stressed out. Probably cuz they were either running low on supplies and they just had another mouth to feed or they trusted the short man but did not want to trust Virgil. As the three who just entered this abandoned Depot walk towards the center of it a tall woman was standing there. She seemed to be the leader as she was giving orders to everyone else. The two kneel before her Virgil didn't though. She seemed to spoke as she notices Virgil and his no longer human right arm.

" and who are you not to bow before royalty?"

I took a few steps being right in front of her with a smile and staring her directly in the eyes it only took her a few seconds to realize who I was she took a step back.

" oh you possessed the king's blood. May I know your name your highness?"

Virgil laughed a bit as this seem to catch everyone's attention as soon as the king's blood was mentioned.

" the name is Virgil the last true remaining member of the bloody Veil."

The tall woman seemed confused at what Virgil had said the last true remaining member of the bloody Veil. she thought the last member was Dante. Then she realized the connection everyone has heard the legend about Dante turning his twin brother to Stone. Not sparing his brother but to punish him for not joining Dante. She seemed almost ready for a fight as she would think Virgil had to be lying.

" no way you were turned to stone. There's no way your Dante's twin brother."

Before she could really make us sound the girl stood up immediately and spoke.

" he's not lying Milady I pour the king's blood into the statues mouth and he was the result. He is the brother from The Legend."

The tall lady seem to calm down a bit but still felt a bit sad she basically thrown so he was still trapped in the 22st century. And the terms of time she didn't think Virgil had gotten used to the current state of the world. Virgil Simpson he started to laugh a bit everyone seemed to be either curious on why he's laughing or was a bit scared.

" okay lady let's dump the Chit Chat and tell me what the situation is after all the likelihood my brother finds out I am no longer a stone statue the harder it will be for your agents to move Around the city. So how about we cut to the chase."

The tall woman seem to nod as she gestured for Virgil to follow. Virgil did as he stayed quiet noticing a lot of people were looking at him but their eyes were full of Hope something Virgil hadn't seen in a very long time. It took them to reach the command center which was the control room for this abandoned subway station where they stored the train cars. As the tall woman crotch to get into the room so she didn't hit her head. Virgil walked in. Calmly as he saw a map of the entire city. He mainly went over to it to look at it it was in the center of the room on a rather large table the tall woman started to speak.

"that is a map of the entire city every blue flag is a hidden rebel base of ours. every red flag is outposts every purple flag however is a Garrison where one of the four Great generals of Dante's Army are station."

When she stood up for great generals Virgil looked over to her and she could tell just by the look of his eyes what question he want answer so she would continue speaking.

" the four Great generals were very old vampires before Dante's rule when Dante took power and consumed all the Queen's blood as the legend goes or I guess for you the past. He gave small amounts of his blood to these four great generals who swore their fealty to him by a Blood Oath. These four contains some of his blood which made them even more powerful than their old age had they are the biggest threat the besides Dante himself to the Rebellion. Tho Dante has not left his Palace and over 30 years Deming he had no need to interfere with the four generals movements anymore so he leaves them to their own devices. but if we were to take one or two out then he would have to leave his throne room. Which would be our chance to take him out but we would probably have to come a lot stronger or pacifically you will have to become a lot stronger which is why you're going to train against a few of my best fighters to see how Rusty you are."

Virgil understood what she was getting at which is why he didn't really abject besides he needed a good workout Anyway. so this would just help him out in the long run so he can knock off some of the rust of being stiff as Stone. She pointed to four men who seem to nod as a gesture for Virgil to follow they went into a room after some minutes I seem to be grabbing bo staffs. Which was the weapon typically for newborns the train with until they got a handle over there Newfound strength. They tossed him one but he threw it on the ground it wasn't a katana which was his preferred weapon. Nor was it a scythe his weapon he practice with as a secondary choice. They originally thought he was just cocky but as the 4 started to circle around him they start to see what seemed to be a smile on his face. All the sudden a spectral armed appeared grabbing a hold of one of their legs Virgil smiled as he pulled back catching the person he grabbed by surprise. Yanking his arm back he started to throw him against one of the other men as the other remaining two charge at Virgil. The one that was closer to him took a thrusting motion as the other twirled around swing it like a bat with their bow staffs. Virgil Dodge the first attack grabbing the swing of the second one with his normal looking hand and then creating another spectral arm to grab the head of the man who was holding the bo staff that he just caught and quickly threw him across the room using the bo staff that he just took away form the man to start making thrust motions at the remaining man who seemed to immediately jumped on the defensive. As each thrusting motion was made it seems to get tired fairly quickly as all sudden he would feel something just grabbed his leg looking down seen the spectral arm having a hold of his leg the only thing he said before being thrown across the room was

" son of a taint"

Without Virgil really realizing a lot of the rebellion was watching including the tall woman and two newborns. That he would decided that he would take under his wing. Virtual looked over at the timer and it said 2:05 which win the Tiber made the sound for everyone to check it seeing the time everyone seemed to cheer. Virgil then drop the bow staff as he walked towards the four he just beat so badly. And see would extend them there a hand helping them up. Virgil begin to make his way towards the tall woman but stopping at the edge of the practicing area and shouted.

" do we have a blood Smith here?"

Everyone was down cheers what he needed a blood Smith for but the toll woman spoke fairly loud.

" well yes and no we don't have a master bladesmith but I was Apprentice before I started the Rebellion. Trying to tear down the regime your brother made."

This honestly pissed Virgil off because now that he knew they didn't have the likelihood this rebellion was going to get stomped was very high even if she was an apprentice she can only do so much. Apprentice blood Smith could only make 1% quality of weapons that was the bloody veils quality of their weapons.

" well do we have any idea where the bloody Veil man kept their weapons as an emergency or do we know anyone who can be bought to make a weapon for me because I lost my old blood code."

The woman seemed very serious now hearing this and nodded as she would then go to her office to try and find out. What is a kid seem to run down the steps and just got in front of Virgil with curious eyes as a child would spoke.

" hey mr. What's a blood code?"

Virgil smell the air for a moment seen it was a child and figured that's why I never heard of a blood code he spoke.

" a blood code is a weapon created with your own blood and the blood of a blood Smith a Pacific type of vampire capable of helping to infuse powers and abilities into weapons. A blood code is effectively a part of a vampire you can sense where is faintly but the farther you are away from it the harder it is to find it. It is a part of you and because you were apart from it makes you weaker."

The child seemed to look in awe at the information he was just told and ran off to his friends to brag about learning something cool today and went off to play with them as the two newborns began approaching him. The little man began to talk with a smile on his face.

" glad to see you're not too rusty their Old Timer. Though I don't know what a blood code is but I'm assuming it's something very important."

Virgil facepalms at this newborn lack of knowledge about anything which seemed to make him mad.

" well of course you don't you're not even old enough to be considered a proper age to sire someone. A blood code is effectively how to you better used your powers. Imagine them acting as a focus for your powers. And for someone as young as you probably the only way you would have powers considering you're nowhere close to being of age to even develop them naturally."

The little man seem to look down again hating that Virgil was bringing that up again about age. At the same time belittling him more than his height does.

" all right all right Old time I get it"

As things stand there for a few seconds everyone heard. Throughout the whole station allowed siren Virgil didn't know what this men's but the two fledglings looks like they were ready for a fight as they went to go to the armory he followed them. As the short man begins speak again.

" looks like we'll have to get to the Armory come on Old Timer time for you to get a proper fight in the see if it if you're really not all that Rusty."

Virgil laughed as he has smile on his face he may despise the small man for breaking the laws that he has known all of his existence but he can at least respect the humor and words that this small man used. Everyone begin entering the Armory grabbing weapons Virgilhelook around for a moment to see what kind of weapons he could work with. He saw a katana on the table and with a smile he grabbed it and began running out of the armory listening with his heightened hearing for conflict the Clashing of blades the use of blood magic. Virgil would have a massive smile on his face that made him look quite insane. He enjoyed fighting quite a bit. When he reach the main room he saw humans being evacuated with the help of what seemed to be a newborn vampires and the tall woman seems to be retreating as the soldiers seem to be fighting. The rebels Virgil saw this seeing how heavily outmatch the rebels were he sighed a bit as he started to think for himself.

" grams always said one man can make the difference in a battle. But I don't think he meant this kind of being outmatched in a fight. Oh well this just means I get to have some more fun I guess does this is going to be a pain in my ass."

Virgil finished his thoughts as he jumped directly down onto the ground level it was using some cloth to cover his lower half of his face. That way no one would recognize him as Virgil him and Dante were practically identical so it wouldn't be that hard for people to figure out who Virgil was. Virgil with katana in hand and smiled as he started charging into the fight flashing at the soldiers and their uniform white armor. Many of the rebels didn't recognize who Virgil was but they weren't questioning it very much considering he was helping them fight Dante's soldiers. one moment they were heavily out match and probably was going to lose the fight but all of a sudden now the appearance of Virgil it was almost like they actually had a snowball's chance in hell to actually win. What's this scene to give them all a major morale boost all the sudden the battle that once looked like it was in the favor of Dante's soldiers suddenly turned in the favor of the rebels would seem to make all of them wonder what the hell happened. How can one man make a battle turn in a favor of the losing side. Most of the soldiers used to easy battles against the rebels that typically and we've not even a single one of them being killed somehow turned into a deadly threat in danger to their very existence which made them terrified though many of them would not have the guts to admit that they were terrified. The ones that did have the guts to admit they were terrified retreated Brandon them as Howards. The ones that weren't cowards however stayed and Fight to the last man. Virgil have respect for the soldiers that had died in the Battle because they fought to the last man not letting a single bit of ground be given without one of their lives being taken.  one of the rebels walk towards mean as he asked.

"Who are you?"

Virgil laughed as he started to take off his makeshift mask. When he did the rebels then immediately recognized Virgil and Bow in thinks Virgil spoke barely quickly.

" destroy any plans documents you have here quickly and then take me to where they were going we need to regroup with them"

The rebels nodded all except for two people had left to destroy documents and or plans they had here the two gestured for Virgil to follow them as they began moving through the subway system. Most likely to regroup with the rest of the rebels. After a few minutes of walking we heard loud footsteps behind us I looked behind us and it was the rebels the ones that were left behind to destroy documents and or plans they quickly caught up with us and we eventually began making our way through the subway system that we had no idea where our group went and the group I was apart of seem to be a bunch of newborns with only two of them actually looking like they were actually a fairly decent age. soon we came up on a barricade with Rebels on it they seem excited to see men they've noticed none of the rebels had blood on their weapons or were wounded badly they only saw Virgil blood-covered weapon and his slightly glowing blue eyes. they open the gate but they were quite terrified Virgil walkthrough like he was the Apocalypse because compared to the rebels he was.
