The Bloody Countess

“Bloody Mary… Bloody Mary… Bloody Mary…” Waking up in a void is never fun, especially when you don’t remember a thing about anything. Not how you looked, not your life, not even your own name. Would having power you never asked for help? Maybe a clichéd System, or maybe a woman who seems strangely familiar? If only you could remember your name. •Female Lead (Female POV) •Not a Harem •Overpowered •System that doesn’t hinder the host •System isn’t the main focus •Morally Ambiguous MC •Loosely Connected to Jörmungandr, another story I am writing. **Potential triggers in this story** •Blood and Gore •Assault •Mentions of SA •Suicide •Language •Extreme Violence •Sexual Content (Potential R18 Scenes in future) Monthly Updates

Learning the Ropes

My vision spun for a brief moment before stabilizing. I looked around in excitement. I found myself in some sort of courtyard. Looking down at my body I saw that I was now wearing a black and red Victorian dress. The corset felt natural to me so I figured I was not dressed like this for fun. Remembering that I basically had a computer in my head I mentally called for my 'status'.

I was speechless, I felt a bubble of shock and terror begin to rise inside me before it was suppressed by Gamer's Mind. Letting out a sigh I closed the system screens and looked around again. I began to notice all the strange things I hadn't noticed before, like how there was no wind or sound, or the fact that the sky wasn't actually a sky but a reflective surface. The 'sunlight' was actually coming from nowhere and I was very much still alone.

I apologize, it was not my intention of placing you in such a situation.

"It's fine Eris, at least I'm powerful."

You possess the base stats for demonic vampires Elisabeth.

"Guess my name is Elizabeth now… not too bad. If you ignore that I'm Bloody Mary."

I apologize again.

"Not your fault, besides I wanted excitement. It won't get any more exciting than this."

I began to wander around the courtyard and brushed my hand through the flowering shrubs. It was strange being able to feel and touch the plants when they made no noise. Not even my footsteps made noise which bothered me to no end.

"Is there any way to leave this place?"

This is your domain, you can come and go as you please.

"Oh thank goodness. I was starting to get worried that I'd actually have to wait for someone to summon me."

As if I had just tempted fate itself a voice echoed throughout my 'domain' shaking the world around me.

"Bloody Mary… Bloody Mary… Bloody Mary… I- I did it guys, what now?"

If this was how my so-called summonings worked, no wonder the Original Bloody Mary was so pissed and would often kill the summoner. At least that's what the myths said.

I looked up at the sky and saw a rippling multicolored vortex. Shrugging I flew up into it and shivered at the strange wet feeling I got when I passed through it. A bell sound went off and I ignored it, instead I focused on the fact that I was now looking at three teenagers through a mirror. They were speaking to each other and haven't seemed to notice me yet.

Finally one girl notices and screams while pointing at the mirror. Her friends turned to look and also screamed. They frantically tried to open the door but it didn't budge. I felt a strange feeling bubbling up inside me.

Was it joy? Was I actually finding their fear appealing? Gamer's Mind didn't seem to affect it like it did when I panicked after finding out I had become an urban legend. The girl that originally spotted me slid down the wall sobbing while her friends continued to try opening the door. I put a hand on the mirror and pushed. My hand went through surprising me for a second before I turned my attention back to the teenagers and smirked.

'Time to milk this role,' I thought before speaking, "Oh, poor child, come to me… I'll make all your sorrows fade away."

I nearly shuddered at how seductively evil my own voice sounded. Reaching out a hand two of the teenagers stopped moving and were now looking at me in shock. The girl who had summoned me slowly stood up and began walking towards me.

"Cassie no! What are you doing?!" The lone male shouted as he tried to pull the now named Cassie back.

My smile grew wider when Cassie got even closer. She was close enough to grab now and that's exactly what I did. I grabbed onto her arm, light returned to her eyes and she screamed as if she was being burned. The teenaged boy shouted and tried to pry my hand off of Cassie's arm. For some reason this annoyed me so I turned my attention to him, my full attention that is.

He froze on the spot, he had succeeded in making me let go of his friend but she had collapsed unconscious on the floor. While he was in a horror filled daze I pushed the rest of my arm through the mirror and grabbed him by his throat. The other girl was crying loudly and trying to pull Cassie's unconscious form further away from me.

I didn't even realize that I had choked the life from the boy until he had stopped struggling. Letting go in shock I pulled my hand back into the mirror. The last girl screamed when the boy fell into a heap on the floor. Blood pooled around him and I realized that my nails had subconsciously turned into claws. My fingers were covered in blood from where they had dug into the boy's flesh. I felt a wave of nausea hit me and I jumped back falling through the rift again. I landed softly on the grass of the courtyard and I took big gulps of air. The mild panic was slowly replaced by calm as my perk worked to level out my raging emotions.

Elisabeth?

'Eris, what the hell was that? Why did I do that?'

I- I'm sorry, the body you now possess comes with its own instincts and urges. You will have to train yourself to control these instincts by yourself.

'What the hell Eris, out of anyone why did I end up as Bloody Mary of all people.'

It was the most compatible body available.

I sighed, "So I'm doomed to be an evil bitch?"

Not necessarily, you can train to control your base instincts. With time you could even ignore them completely.

"What do I need to do then?"

Get stronger, you'll have more control once you reach a certain level.

"I- alright fine."

'I guess I should open those notifications first… I really hate how easily I'm getting over just killing some poor innocent boy.'

I let out a shaky breath and mentally opened the several notifications I had gotten from the past hour.
