Re-Summoning (II)...

"Roberta-chan, what happened to the people inside that house?" Daichi asked as he finally stood up from the ground. Roberta's gaze flickered toward Chiba for a moment before she cleared her throat.

"She killed them… Though I wonder when she is going to break down" Roberta muttered with a thoughtful look on her face and even though Roberta was being kind of cryptic, Daichi clearly understood what she was trying to say. He was surprised that Roberta wasn't already fussing over him.

"Daichi-sama, are you alright?" Roberta inquired with a hint of concern in her voice.

'It seems that I spoke too soon…' Daichi thought drily as he slowly turned toward Roberta. "I have never been better" Daichi quipped with a smile on his face. Obviously, Roberta wasn't convinced, but she decided to hold her tongue for the time being.

"Milord, what happened to the ones who were attacking us?" Bella asked curiously, but he could practically feel the anger radiating off her.

"Two of them ran away, but the rest are captured… Two of them are lying right there" Daichi said as he jerked his chin toward the other end of the street. Bella slowly turned her head only to find two people lying on the floor… Moments later, a bright smile bloomed on Bella's face.

"Milord, you wouldn't mind if I had some fun with them, right?" Bella asked eagerly and Daichi simply smiled as he started to pat Bella's head. Right now, Bella looked extremely adorable…

"Sure, but, you must have some patience, my dear. There are some things we must do before we can indulge ourselves" Daichi said with a grin and even though Bella looked somewhat reluctant, she happily agreed with Daichi.

"Good" Daichi said and then he turned toward Chiba. She still seemed to be holding herself back. "Roberta-chan, can you inform Maresato-san about my Skill, but tell her to keep the details to herself" Daichi said without looking toward Roberta. The purple-haired woman simply nodded her head and made her way toward Chiba.

Chiba wasn't standing that far from the trio, so she clearly heard what Daichi said. So she promptly left with Roberta without saying anything… Meanwhile, Daichi noticed Yuriko along with Saeko and Kohta approaching him while some of the members of his group who were adept at fighting were standing outside the house while the others were standing on the balconies…

"What happened, Daichi-san?" Yuriko asked as soon as she arrived in front of Daichi.

"I won't know until I interrogate them…" Daichi said pointing toward the two people lying on the street and then he pointed toward his mom, who was dragging two bodies over the street. Yuriko glanced toward the bodies lying on the street with an unreadable look on her face and then she turned toward where Daichi pointed next. Yuriko couldn't help but grimace at the sight…

One of the bodies Kemono was dragging was barely recognizable as a female… The said female body was almost completely charred and Yuriko started to doubt if the woman was even alive or not… The second woman Kemono was dragging looked kind of broken and Yuriko meant it literally. Yuriko couldn't help but shudder in fright as she couldn't even guess what Kemono had done to the woman to break her body in such a manner.

Meanwhile, Kohta took in the sight and gulped loudly. Moments later, he turned toward Daichi with a determined look on his face. Kohta knew a lot about the mother and son duo, so he could kind of guess the situation, but he did not understand why these people decided to attack. No matter the reason, Kohta already decided that he was going to support Daichi, but he still wanted to know why they attacked… He was simply curious.

"Yozora-senpai, why did these people attack us?" Kohta asked as he continued to stare at Daichi.

Daichi inclined his head and glanced toward Yuriko… If Yuriko wasn't here then he would have told the truth because Kohta already knew what kind of people they were. So, Daichi started to think if he should answer him or not and if he did answer then how much should he reveal in front of Yuriko… After thinking for a bit, Daichi decided that it was finally time to come clean… At least, somewhat. Though he wasn't planning to give them the full truth…

Yuriko was slowly becoming a major part of the group and he did not know how long he would be able to hide the truth from her without raising suspicions. Additionally, he was also planning to attack Black Label tonight… He needed all the fighters he could. He wasn't delusional enough to think that he could deal with the whole organization on his own…

"I don't know they are, but they wanted to kill my mom. At least, I think that was their objective… They have tried to assassinate my mom even before the apocalypse but they failed…" Daichi explained and Yuriko paled like she has seen a ghost while Kohta and Saeko simply nodded their heads in understanding.

"What? How did they even find Kemono-san?" Yuriko questioned with a frantic look on her face. To be honest, Yuriko did not know what to think of the whole situation. She knew that Kemono worked for the Government, and she also knew that her husb… ex-husband hated the woman, but he never told her why he hated her. Yuriko started to wonder why Kemono had so many enemies and if it was related to her job…

"I think they found her through me… Bella sensed them watching us when we were crossing the bridge. They must have recognized me from the Stream… Bella felt that someone was watching the house, so we decided to check. We left the house without telling Saeko or Kyoko as we did not want to alert them, but we were wrong… As soon as we were somewhat away from the house, they attacked us" Daichi explained with a straight face.

Daichi was lying through his teeth, but it was necessary, he just couldn't tell Yuriko that they left the house to kill the family who killed Chiba's husband and that is when the group attacked them. "Oh… Then what is Maresato-san doing with you?" Yuriko asked with a confused look on her face after thinking for a bit. Yuriko wasn't accusing Daichi of anything, yet, but she felt that something was amiss…
