Macro's car was parked outside the garage when they returned home in the early afternoon. He climbed inside and buckled himself securely into the seat while Jess hurried back to the entrance of the building where she slipped the keys to the apartment out of the pocket of her skirt and pressed them into his hand. She glanced up briefly at the sky as she did so and noted that it was bright and sunny outside. The weather was pleasant enough for her to wear short sleeves without being chilled by it.

"There's something else important that I need to give to you," she said quietly as she took the keys back from him and opened the passenger side door for him, "but it's not here so I'm going to drop it off on the way. Is that alright with you?"

Macro nodded eagerly as she slid gracefully behind the wheel and shut the door. As soon as she started driving again, he turned around in his seat to stare at her intensely before speaking again, "What is it?"
