Chapter two

In the hallway

A handsome guy was on the phone with his grandfather. His grandfather was telling him about the granddaughter of his friend, Mr Grayson.

He was currently at the birthday party of the girl who was the topic of today's discussion. His grandfather has been calling him nonstop since he arrived there.

"Have you seen her yet" His grandfather's impatient voice came through.

"Yes," Nicholas answered.

" That's good" A hint of joy was heard from his voice. "Did she like you? "

"Gramps, Why don't you ask if I like her" Nicholas replied feigning anger. " I saw her when she greeted the guests but haven't had time to talk to her because of your constant calls"

" Damn brat. You had better go meet my future granddaughter-in-law"

Nicholas had always been very close to his grandfather. He listens to him more than anyone. Only his grandfather can make someone as busy as Nicholas come for this kind of birthday celebration and dare to matchmake him.

Even his father can't. Nicholas was a self made billionaire with a very high-rising company. His father was also a wealthy man but Nicholas refused to have any involvement with his father's company.

He was one of the wealthiest and most influential men in the country. Almost all businesses in Grattoir City had connections with his company and that made him very formidable.

He was always busy and therefore hasn't had enough time to date. Not that he minded anyway but his grandfather minded a lot. That was why he decided to fulfill his grandfather's wish and came here. As far as she was beautiful and acted properly, he would go ahead.

His grandfather was still nagging in the phone when he was suddenly caught off guard and his phone fell to the ground. Someone had bumped into him. It was a familiar woman but before he could pinpoint where he saw her, she already left without even apologizing.

He saw his right hand man coming to him.

" Sir, I am sorry I couldn't react faster. I gave you some space as you requested and she came unexpectedly" The right-hand man explained to Nicholas. He knew his boss hated little mistakes and the person might have had a dagger or something bad would have happened.

Nicholas was still trying to remember the face and suddenly it clicked on him. This was the girl whom his grandfather was pairing up with him. The birthday girl but why did she leave her birthday in such a hurry?

He wasn't unusually curious but he couldn't help but want to know more.

"Investigate the Grayson's family daughter and report to me everything about her including what happened today" Nicholas suddenly gave the instruction.

Zayn, his right hand man was shocked because he expected that he would be punished.

He quickly nodded and went to do as he was told because he knew that when his boss gives tasks, he expected results immediately.

In one hour time, Zayn has already gathered all about her.

Nicholas sat at his table and read through her information.

She was a spoilt brat and it seems her boyfriend cheated on her with her close friend. He looked at her picture at the top of the document for a little longer.

"Interesting", he said picking up his phone to make a call.
