Chapter 04 - Clone

There were many pills that were showcased in front of his eyes as well as their outrageous prices.

[

-Aura awakening pill : 100 origin crystals

-Elemental awakening pill (any element of the available : Fire, water, air, earth, metal, lightning, Life(nature), ice, darkness, and light) : 100 origin crystals

-Fountain of youth (Per drop) : 700 origin crystals

]

Clyde chose those three to start selling. Of those the many choices he had to go through, those three were the most appropriate for the time being.

There weren't many aura wielders and magicians in the world. Their numbers were severely limited due to unseen and unfelt circumstances.

Perhaps it was due to talent or the body's constitution why some fared better at being a mage than an aura wielder and vice versa. Of course, the prerequisite was that you were capable of embarking on either path.

It's as if you had to be the chosen one…well that's too far fetched…at least it had been proven that if your ancestor had been able to embark on any of the two paths, your chances of doing so yourself were much greater.

The Dumas family had sired Powerful Aura wielders at each generation with no exception except for Clyde's circumstances who were a bit special.

The Dumas family had even developed some secret techniques of their own overtime. At the cost of their lifespan, they could expedite their training as aura wielders to new heights, attaining the rumoured rank 10 in less than two decades of training.

There wasn't any other reason for Clyde to choose the fountain of youth as the item his supposed 'master'would be selling.

He wanted his father and brother to not die young due to the use of the secret techniques of the family. If things went as they were going, his father would soon die in ten years just in time for his brother to complete his training and become the next king.

A sad ending he didn't want to see.

What was sadder than being one of the powerhouses of a generation but not even having the lifespan of a common man.

"I should also introduce the Bloodline warrior power system here too. The Dominic Kingdom could have a powerful army."

"But how do I do all this without exposing myself? Well, I have nothing to fear, but I don't like being in the limelight and like my anonymity."

"System! Any ideas?"

{A thousand origin crystals.}

The system wanted to fleece him out of a few coins, once again.

A vein bulged on Clyde's forehead as he said, "Alright, I hope your idea is good enough."

[Deducting 1000 origin crystals, you are left with 5,994,198,995 origin crystals.]

{With my help you can create a clone that will handle all your matters such as posing as your master for example.}

"Let me guess, you are eyeing the huge fortune I have, aren't you?" Clyde said.

{Of course not, who do you take me for? Are you forgetting that you're the one who sold the items to me? I'm the one who made you rich…remember that.}

"Alright. So how much will a clone cost me?" Clyde even regretted finally asking.

{A clone starts from 10,000 Origin crystals, there's no upper limit if you want something decent.}

"As expected…" Clyde shook his head.

To create a believable clone, that said clone had to look like an old man and also had to be stronger than him by a huge margin, at least three to seven times stronger than him.

Clyde knew that it wasn't for nothing that the system had introduced the Godless Universe to him. It was the trading hub of the ruling clans of the multiverse.

The system wanted him to go there eventually. Sooner rather than later at that.

But he had to do things smartly, he wasn't in the godless universe yet, so there was no rush. He could create a passable clone for the time being.

He had to be realistic after all. With the huge fortune he had, he had to be careful how he spent it.

It wasn't everyday that you'd stumble on a dumb fire dragon god to kill and sell.

Feeling that Clyde's thoughts were heading in the wrong direction, the system interjected :

{If you want a clone that has the potential to become stronger than you in a short period of time, I can do it for 1 billion origin crystals.}

There it was. The magic words.

"You think I am dumber than you? In what dream did you see me agreeing to that, hum?" Clyde was afraid that the system would force him to do something against his will again like how he was forced to become an abomination. The only thing that consoled him was that he was now in the ranks of Gods and a trillion miles away from his sickly self.

{Just sayin…}

But after thinking about it, a clone with potential to become stronger than him who was already a god seemed like a steal at just one billion origin crystals…but at the same time, there was the possibility of him being swindled again by the system. Nonetheless, it was useful to have such a trump card in the future.

Who knows when the dragons might find fault with him for killing one of their compatriots.

"Alright, do it."

[Deducting 1,000,000,000 origin crystals…you are left with 4,994,198,995 origin crystals.]

{Your clone is waiting for you in the storage space.}

"That fast?"

{You paid well, of course I did my best!}

"That doesn't sound right. How is being faster than meticulous okay? I just paid a billion of those so-called origin crystals that you said 'even gods go crazy to acquire'." With a pale face Clyde went to look for his clone in the space staff's storage space.
