Chapter two

Maria is an orphan from Mexico, a small town in the northern country where they had to do a lot to survive. She is the eldest of her family She had two brothers, one died while he was working for a drug cartel that terrorized the community he forced children, especially boys between the ages of 12 and 18 years old to traffic drugs across borders. Her brother Mickel who was only 12 years old, the drug terrorist led by Mr. Rania wanted Mickel to continue what his elder brother started; this was only three days after the death of his brother. Maria worked as a waitress In a small restaurant in town she had to drop out of school to support her brothers that was cut short.

Early hours of the day, Maria dropped her brother Mickel at school and took a bus to the town where she worked. When she got to the restaurant she went to the changing room and about to change into her work clothes she got a call from Mickel's best friend Rio de Janeiro that Mr. Rania men reached the school and picked up Mickel and some of his classmates. Rio De Janeiro's father is a wealthy lawyer so he was not disturbed in the community. Maria was panicked and scared she hurriedly grabbed her bag and stormed out of the place heading back to the neighborhood. On reaching Mr. Rania's premises she demanded to see Mr. Rania. She was taken to him. She told him straight "I am going to work for you to leave my kid brother out of this' ' he laughed telling her "What do you understand is my business You are a woman your work is to cook meals in the kitchen and satisfy a man in the bedroom. He stands up from the desk he was sitting on and walks close to her looking through her blouse and holding her black shiny hair. She replies "My kid brother is of no use to you he's dumb he might mess you up I know him better if I don't do well you can try him. Besides I need the money to pay for his school fees' ' Mr. Rania agrees to try her since she is older. Her younger brother is held in Rania's house and she is threatened that if she fails he will be forced to traffick their drugs or be killed. Maria is allowed to see her brother who is locked in a cage with others in their number; she explains to him how to behave while she works; she will release him and he can go back to school. She is carried to a room where her passport is taken and a few minutes later, she is taken to a room where five guys between the ages of 20-23 years old are kept with everyone assigned to a bed. She gets a hold of one of the beds trying to lie down, she lies for a while thinking about a lot on her mind. Six hours later a guy comes to the room and asks her to follow him. At this point it was late at night She was taken to Rania's office and he handed over the car keys of a sedan blue color. "You are to drive straight to the border" he hands her an address on a mobile phone and gives it to her "Once you get to the place, call me". She is taken by one of Rania's men to the car park in the compound. She gets into the car, begins the ignition and drives off. After an hour of driving, she gets to the border. She drives through the checkpoint and a tall army man asks for her passport and hands it over to him. He asks "What brings you this way, Miss" She replies "I came to visit my sick aunt who works as a maid" he smiles and sends his regards as he allows her to drive past. Maria drove straight to the address using a map; this was her first time passing the borderline. Arriving at the address it was an abandoned warehouse with a huge gate with a voice buzzer communicator at the main entrance she pressed the buzzer mentioning she had a delivery from Mr. Rania the gate unlocked as she drove in the gate closed behind her a group of armed men approached her vehicle pointing the gun towards her ordering her to step out of the vehicle. She steps out of the car with her hands raised. One of the men walks close to her holding a gun and inspects her from head to toe telling the rest she is clean. They are all surprised she is a woman sent from Mr. Rania. She says

"he asked me to call him when I get here" She pulls out the phone from her pocket and dials the number he picks and the phone is handed to a man who seems to be the ringleader of the team. She is taken into the warehouse in an office. The car is checked and all kilos of drugs are complete. The car is loaded with money and assembled back together. She is handed over the keys she drives back to Mr. Rania's House which is another two-hour drive back. At Rania's house, his men check the car and discover it's loaded with cash; they are surprised she succeeded. She walks up to Rania's office, he is impressed, he tries to molest her and she insists she wants Mickel. Mr. Rania is her uncle. He is a younger brother to Maria's father. He refused to help them out when their dad died. Her brother had no choice but to join his uncle as a lot of places refused to hire him to do minor jobs because of his uncle. Maria fell out with her uncle when he pressured her to marry an old man old enough to be her father at the age of 17 years old. At the age of 25 years old, She started to work for Rania she worked for him for 4 years on the 4th year of working for him she went for a delivery at a warehouse she finished her delivery and noticed something was odd about the man she noticed he didn't know where the drugs were hidden in the truck "Are you new here" she assist with offloading the drugs from the truck they get talking and got intimate that night he revealed to him he is a DEA agent she needs to come clean so she can get a soft jail time with witness protection if she can give some information. She informs him that her brother Mickel is 16 years old is the only reason she is doing the job and is done with High school he will need a scholarship for his college because he wants to be a medical Doctor. Carlos the DEA agent promises to help her. She returned to Mexico that night quite late. She hands over the car keys to Rania's men and returns home to her brother who was fast asleep.
