The Ascension Of The God Of Destruction

Every being recognizes the name, Heaven. Humans have looked to the stars since the beginning of time, dreaming of a place beyond Earth. Mankind evolved over time into beings capable of shaking the sky with a wave of their hands. These beings were known as cultivators and thought to be powerful enough to control their own destinies and shape the world around them. They were also said to be capable of reaching the same heaven mankind had dreamed of and unlocking its secrets. Many people attempted to defy Heaven over the centuries, but they all failed. Many great figures who made their names in the world were brought down by Heaven's wrath, and it seemed that no one could truly stand up to Heaven's almighty power; they were unable to surpass the limitations that Heaven had imposed on mankind. Years have passed, and while Heaven remains a mystery to this day, people have come to accept it as an unstoppable force, and many have given up. Until one day, a person came forth who dared to defy Heaven and fight against the limits set by it. .... "Hahaha, I may have lost this battle, but remember, Heaven!" A young man yelled as he took a step toward the sky. "Rumble" As if in response to his cry, the sky rumbled and a bolt of lightning flashed across the heavens. "You can be certain that the next time I return, I will be the one to put an end to you." ....... I will upload when I have free time, so I can't promise daily chapters. Choosing A Weapon (2)

"Here, all the swords are mid-mortal grade," Elder Lin stated before continuing. "Every time a weapon is of a higher grade, it's quality and power increase significantly, providing more weight and power."

Alex walked all around the room, perusing the different kinds of swords that were available. Long swords, claymores, greatswords, and normal swords

Every type of sword that Alex was familiar with was available to choose from. Due to his intense sword skills training, Alex was proficient at almost all of these sword types.

After glancing over the other sword, Alex figured that none of them were as suitable for him and walked over to the section containing racked swords.

It was in the corner of the room, and Alex only noticed it when he moved closer to the rack.

Arriving in front of the rack, Alex could see dozens of swords of all different shapes and colors. After observing the various swords for some time, Alex reached out to pick up the one katana that he liked the most.

It was dark blue, and the blade was almost 2 feet long with intricate designs etched on the hilt and blade, eventually narrowing to a point at the tip of the blade.

Grabbing the handle of the sword, Alex tried to casually pick it up to inspect it but was surprised to find it a lot heavier than he was used to.

'This sword must weigh almost a hundred pounds,' thought Alex as he put his strength into picking up the sword.

After struggling for a second, Alex steadied the sword in front of him. He started swinging the sword around, trying out the various movesets he had trained for katana, albeit with some difficulty.

"This katana is made from Azure iron ore, which is much heavier and stronger than common iron ore. This is one of the best weapons in this room in terms of quality," said Elder Lin as he watched Alex swing it about.

"I like it," replied Alex. "I think I'll go with this one." Alex studied the blade for a few more seconds, admiring its craftsmanship, before storing it away in his spatial ring.

He was content with this blade and was comfortably wielding it, and after looking at its information, he was pleasantly surprised.

Alex and Elder Lin began walking back towards the front door, and after leaving the room, Alex thanked Elder Lin before going to where the clan library was located.

On his way there, he checked the sword's status and was astounded to discover that he had acquired a high-quality sword; it was a mid-mortal grade, but it was not far from the high grade.

Something that surprised him because, given his current strength, which was comparable to a 4th-stage body refinement cultivator, if it had been a normal mid-grade weapon, Alex would have picked it up without difficulty, but he had struggles picking up the katana.

[Azure Katana]

[Grade: Mid-Mortal]

[Description: Because the material used was Azure Iron Ore, this katana has an unearthly sharpness and strength that is unparalleled. It was forged by the finest of smiths. The katana is nearly a high-grade sword but fell short of the final step, so it was stuck in this step.]

Alex was astounded by the description of the blade and couldn't believe what he was reading; how was he so fortunate to find such a good blade? He couldn't help but smile with delight.

He couldn't wait to put it to use, but he knew he needed first to learn some techniques. He was on his way to the clan library, hoping to find something to help him with his new weapon.

After walking for a few minutes, Alex arrived in front of the martial library. The martial library was named the Black Dragon Library and had served as the Dracon clan library for hundreds of years.

It stood seven stories tall with six towering brownish-red walls and eight black flying eaves and was made of smooth stone and wood. The interior was lightly decorated with carved beams and statues of past elders and leaders.

Each floor contained interior balconies that overlooked the entrance hall to the library, as well as exterior balconies overlooking the clan grounds.

Alex stepped through the main door and walked straight to the stairs. As he began ascending the stairs, he stared toward the center of the library and thought to himself, 'Damn, I'll be out reading books before I know it.'

Alex had come here many times before and had already read all the books on the first two floors. He was now working on completing the third floor. Arriving at the third floor, Alex passed by a few aisles before deciding where to start.

Each aisle was lined with dark wooden bookcases, neatly stacked with books and scrolls.

He turned down the third aisle and grabbed a book regarding cultivation theory. Though Alex could not cultivate, he enjoyed learning everything he could, and cultivation theory were no different.

The book had a dark leather cover over the bamboo panels, and its pages were sandy white with a texture like sanded wood. After examining the cover, Alex walked over to one of the outside balconies, overlooking the sounds coming from down below.

Below the library, dozens of children between the ages of eight and eighteen could be seen training and sparring.

Sighing, Alex opened his mouth, "It felt like yesterday; I couldn't cultivate; I had no friends; I was... alone; and I spent the majority of my time reading books in the library or in my room." Alex spoke in a trembling voice, reflecting on the loneliness he had felt only a few months prior.

[Host...]

"Don't worry, my life has improved since I began cultivating and acquiring you; I just hope... that it stays this way.

Hey, system."

[Yes host?]

"Thanks"

[...]

[I'm not sure what you're talking about; why are you thanking me?]

Alex smiled as he gazed up at the sky. "It was just something I wanted to do."
