Lackluster

Johnny, Zane and Ethan pulled up at The Seductress. Men and women alike gasped as they saw this spacecraft-like car arrive in front of the club. The car was black, and all of the windows were tinted so that not even someone pressing their face up to the window could see inside. The Bugatti La Voiture Noire was out of this world.

Chuck, the valet supervisor, rolled his eyes at the sight of the car. He thought, "Here is another poor soul coming here to impress Destiny with his fancy cars and toys, but he has no chance!" Chuck did think though, of all of the fancy cars and possessions, he had never seen something this spectacular before. He was secretly exhilarated at the opportunity to park this car, even if he could only drive it for a mere minute.

Zane has decided to dismiss his driver and drive his own car. He thought, "maybe getting in this car and driving it myself will give me the rush I need to get through this night." Despite driving swiftly and hugging every curve on the road with this superior machine, Zane was still bored.

As he pulled up to The Seductress, he thought, "what a terribly cheesy name for a place." He noticed the men and women who were gathering and gawking at the car and was once again annoyed at the attention. He knew he would have more women following him around all night, but he had no interest. He was cold and could care less for the attention, but Johnny and Ethan were surely enjoying the limelight.

Chuck opened the car door on the driver's side, and he heard gasps from the dozens standing on the sidewalk who had gathered in curiosity. As Zane stepped out of the car, Chuck thought something was off and different about this man. He couldn't put his finger on it. Chuck had encountered thousands of men who had frequented The Seductress. The men were either cocky and arrogant, excited, anxious, and even expectant. But this man did not emit a single ounce of emotion. He almost seemed like the atmosphere, the attention, and going inside The Seductress meant nothing to this man. Chuck quickly stammered, "I'll take great care of this beauty, sir!" Chuck didn't know why, but the lack of emotion from the driver made him nervous. Zane looked back at Chuck and said, "Sure, whatever."

"How could anyone have such a nonchalant attitude about this work of art?" thought Chuck. It almost seemed like he received a free pass to test this beast out. As he started to feel a rush of excitement, Ethan jumped in and said, "hey, Zane might not care much about the car, but this is our ride home. Don't get any ideas!" Chuck's brief thoughts of joy were quickly extinguished with Ethan's words. Ethan pulled out $100 bill and handed it to Chuck.

It was like everyone standing outside of the club knew that the three who just arrived in the masterpiece were like gods. The crowds parted, clearing a pathway to the entrance of The Seductress. Many people would wait outside for hours in the hopes of just getting one minute inside, but this group was ushered inside and offered the finest table right off the dance floor.

Sara was backstage when Jen burst through the doors. "Sara, you had better put on your best show tonight! I heard there are three men who just walked in tonight and mesmerized everyone from Chuck, to guests and bouncers! This is your group! Sara rolled her eyes at Jen and gave her a forced smile.

"Sara, I don't get you! Women dream of having the attention you receive, and you don't seem to care at all!"

Sara looked at Jen and said, "Jen, there must be more to life than this! I know how to captivate any man or woman, but it's always lackluster."

"Well anyway, here we go again...another night of wealthy men who will throw themselves at me," sighed Sara.
